Chapter 635: Chapter 642 Capturing the Pair
In the eyes of people like Anton, for most people, most secrets aren’t really secrets most of the time.
Through body language and facial expressions, Anton could read a person’s psychological changes, so he didn’t even need to communicate with Heidi to know what she was thinking.
And by now, even the least professional person would know what Heidi was going to do.
The car carrying Heidi arrived at her home and then the courtyard gate closed. The two got out of the car without a hug but entered the house with laughter and chatter.
Anton, who had arrived even earlier by car, picked up his phone after witnessing the scene and dialed Hans, whispering, "The two of them are home, and I think they won’t wait too long to hit the bed, so you need to get Norbert here quickly."
Hans whispered back, "Understood."
After hanging up, Anton let out a sigh and then slowly walked towards Heidi’s house.
Reaching Heidi’s doorstep, Anton looked around to ensure no one was there. He then sprinted a few steps, grabbed the railing on the wall, lightly leaped over the fence, and landed without making a sound.
He quickly walked a few steps in the yard, crouched at the door, and carefully listened to the sounds coming from inside the house.
There was laughter and talking in the living room, but it wasn’t loud. After the TV was turned on, only muffled sounds could be heard.
Anton squatted motionlessly at the door for a while; the development was slower than expected. It seemed that the two inside had been maintaining their current relationship for a while and didn’t appear to be in a rush; instead, they were chatting about trivial matters.
The patience of the people inside surprised Anton, but he wasn’t in a hurry. He still crouched at the door. However, if the two inside continued to talk and laugh without getting serious, he would have to notify Hans to push back the schedule.
Another five minutes passed, and just as Anton felt he had to inform Hans to delay the timing, the two people inside finally got to the point.
Heidi and the muscular man finally left the living room. Though the TV was still on, their voices were no longer audible.
Anton gently turned the doorknob; it was locked, but that was not a problem for him. He took out two thin wires from his pocket, deftly manipulated the lock pins, and slowly turned the doorknob.
Anton stealthily walked into the living room, then slowly pushed the door back, but did not close it. Instead, he left a small gap.
Listening to the sounds, Anton silently advanced a few steps. After briefly listening, he located the positions of Heidi and the muscular man.
The two were getting it on without even closing the door.
Having confirmed Heidi’s location, Anton took two steps back and quickly moved to the open-plan kitchen.
The kitchen was rarely used for cooking, but the utensils were well-stocked and neatly arranged. Anton spotted the knife block, pulled out a sharp kitchen knife to hold in his hand, and then returned to the door of Heidi’s bedroom.
Anton stood still, holding his breath, while the noises from the bedroom grew louder.
He glanced sideways into the bedroom and, after ensuring that the two on the bed absolutely could not see him, he swiftly walked past the wide-open bedroom door, grasped the doorknob of another bedroom, opened the door, and quickly hid in the adjoining bedroom.
Now it was just a matter of waiting for Hans to lead Norbert over.
Hans stood outside a high-end serviced apartment building because Norbert lived here, which really was quite suitable for a bachelor like him.
Hans pondered what excuse he could use to deceive Norbert into going to Heidi’s place, and after only a moment of thought, he came up with an idea. He took out his phone and dialed Schultz.
Just as Anton had said, having a network intelligence center was really convenient, very convenient indeed.
After Schultz answered the phone, Hans whispered, "Hello, this is Hans. I need your cooperation now."
"Hans, okay, go ahead," Schultz replied.
"Block a phone number from contacting the outside world. Can you do it? How long will it take?" Hans asked.
"Give me the number."
Hans gave Heidi’s mobile number to Schultz, who quickly and easily said, "Can do. We’ve found a backdoor in the control system. It’ll only take five minutes."
After hanging up, Hans waited a few minutes, then Schultz called him back, sounding smug, "Done. Now this number can’t connect with the outside world."
"Thanks."
After taking a light breath of relief, Hans continued forward, entered the apartment, took the elevator, and arrived in front of Norbert’s door.
He rang the doorbell, and before long, Norbert opened the door. He then looked at Hans with a puzzled expression, "Who are you?"
With a grave face, Hans looked at Norbert and said in a deep voice, "You’re Norbert, right? Your girlfriend’s name is Heidi."
Norbert was stunned for a moment, then nodded, "Yes, I am."
Hans continued solemnly, "Your girlfriend’s had an accident, she was robbed right at her own front door."
Norbert was startled, then exclaimed, "What? Is Heidi alright? Has she been hurt?"
Hans shook his head slightly, sighed softly, and said in a low voice, "Miss Heidi... you should go and see for yourself. She’s currently at her home. She’s been badly frightened, and the police are there questioning her about the incident. Miss Heidi tried to call you with a police officer’s phone, but she couldn’t get through. I just happen to live here, so I came to check if you were at home. Mr. Norbert, I’m very sorry to hear about your girlfriend’s ordeal, but please try not to panic. Miss Heidi is not injured. Alright, I must be going. Goodbye."
Hans did not reveal his identity. It wasn’t the time for too many explanations as concern leads to chaos, and Norbert was too distraught to care about the identity of the messenger. Too many detailed explanations, which might have prompted Norbert to ask questions, could have easily blown Hans’s cover.
So Hans turned and left immediately after speaking, giving Norbert no chance to ask questions.
Norbert was frantic; he paid no further attention to Hans. The first thing he did as he came to his senses was rush back in to pick up his phone.
He called Heidi, and when he couldn’t get through, Norbert didn’t hesitate. He grabbed his car keys and dashed toward the elevator.
As he watched Norbert drive off in a hurry, Hans shook his head and murmured, "Such a clumsy lie and he fell for it, tsk."
Hans was about to call Anton to inform him that Norbert had left, but he quickly abandoned the thought, knowing well that there would be no slip-ups on Anton’s end.
