Chapter 571: Chapter 579 This is really sick

Yang Yi felt elated because he was finally able to ... no, it was finally possible for him to coordinate smoothly on both sides.

Although it was just a mere stroll and a meal together, a good start is important, isn’t it?

Now that Yang Yi had two trees by his side, to obtain one tree meant forsaking the other and the entire forest. If he gave up these two trees, he could have the whole forest, but Yang Yi was unwilling. He thought if he could have both trees, then giving up the forest would be worth it.

After finishing dinner in high spirits, an enthusiastic Yang Yi invited the two for a walk. With his thick skin and experience in dealing with enemies, no, his experience in courting, that was all he could come up with.

The three of them walked for a while, which was actually quite awkward. Yang Yi could certainly feel the strange atmosphere between the two women, and being sandwiched in the middle was not pleasant either.

Yang Yi’s principle was never to abandon nor give up. For the long-term, he had to endure the temporary awkwardness; the difficulties at hand had to be overcome.

Finally, feeling that the time was about right, Yang Yi suggested they head back, and they turned onto a small path.

First, they would go fetch the car and then return to the hotel; there was nothing much to discuss.

But running into a robbery was definitely worth discussing in detail.

The path wasn’t very narrow, and the streetlights were quite bright, but lo and behold, as if by some divine intervention, five people suddenly emerged from the shadows by the side of the road and headed straight toward Yang Yi and his companions.

All donned hooded sweatshirts and had the faces of North Africans; the older ones looked about seventeen or eighteen years old, and the younger ones appeared to be about fourteen or fifteen years old. But the expressions on these young men were ferociously intense.

Instead of surrounding Yang Yi and his group, the five individuals simply walked alongside them, then they began verbal attacks, speaking relentlessly in a language that Yang Yi couldn’t understand.

Yang Yi only understood a few extremely vulgar words, and then, these youngsters showed an unusually keen interest in Kate and Xiao Ran.

Kate and Xiao Ran kept their heads low, while Yang Yi maintained an expressionless face.

In fact, Yang Yi was secretly overjoyed at this moment; finally, an opportunity to break the awkwardness had presented itself.

There was no need to hope for a heroic rescue; these two women didn’t need Yang Yi to save them. Kate and Xiao Ran kept their heads down because they didn’t want these tragically destined young men to see the joy and near-tears of gratitude on their faces.

Finally, one of the young men reached out toward Kate.

"Slap, crack, thump."

After three successive sounds, a sixteen or seventeen-year-old young man fell to the ground, then clutched his arm and let out a deafening scream.

The atmosphere froze in an instant, and then an extremely surprised Kate exclaimed, "He was going to harass me! Did you guys see that?"

Xiao Ran let out a cold snort, and just as she stepped forward ready to act, she saw the youngest one among them pull out a knife.

"Everybody stay where you are, hand over your money."

An older individual beside him took out a knife as well and approached Yang Yi menacingly, saying, "@#%¥..."

Yang Yi shrugged and said, "I don’t understand."

After speaking, Yang Yi grabbed a wrist, twisted, chopped down, and took the knife, placing it against the young man’s neck but ultimately refrained from the last step.

"My god!"

After muttering a curse under his breath, Yang Yi said with a relieved face, "That was close! Habitual actions are indeed perilous."

The young man, whose wrist was caught by Yang Yi, let out a scream higher than the last, and at this time, the remaining three individuals were all visibly astonished and panicked. They looked at each other, trying to decide whether to run or to fight back.

Finally, the youngest of them, knife in hand, charged towards Yang Yi, but Xiao Ran delivered a swift whip kick from the side and then she bellowed angrily, "I’m standing right here!"

Just then, Yang Yi heard a scream.

"Stop!"

Everyone turned to look to the side, where a woman had stopped her car. She stood next to the open car door, trembling all over as she shouted, "What are you doing! Stop!"

She spoke in German, but Yang Yi understood because he was also learning German now.

Yang Yi released his grip, letting go of the young man before he spread his hands and said, "Lady, it’s not what you think, these people were trying to rob us, they just chose the wrong targets."

The woman looked to be in her early thirties, and she appeared very angry as she walked over and yelled at Yang Yi, "What have you all done? They’re just kids!"

Yang Yi, with an expression of complete bafflement, retorted, "Can’t you understand? They were robbing us, and they were harassing my friend. Can’t you see what’s happening here?"

"All I see is you beating some poor children!"

After saying that, the woman helped the person Xiao Ran had kicked over and then softly said, "Are you hurt? Don’t be afraid, I will be your witness."

Kate angrily retorted, "Hey, do you even understand the situation? They wanted to rob us, rob, do you get it?"

The woman glared at Kate and said, "They are just children, whatever they did, they don’t deserve to be treated like this. And if they were really robbing, wouldn’t you call the police?"

Xiao Ran’s eyes widened as she demanded, "Are you out of your mind or what?"

The woman snapped back, "They are already pitiful enough, and they are just children, just children! Whatever they do, they can be forgiven, and you, you have no right to beat them."

Yang Yi took a breath and said, "Lady, would you still think the same if they were robbing and assaulting you?"

"Of course!"

"Very good, very noble, noble indeed."

Yang Yi wasn’t very fluent in German, but he could still make himself understood. After praising the lady for her nobility, he seriously added, "But if we don’t fight back, we might get hurt, or worse. What about that?"

"That’s still no excuse for you to be beating these children. And besides, wouldn’t you call the police?"

"It would be too late waiting for the police!"

Kate roared in anger, but Yang Yi waved his hand and said, "Alright, let’s end this here, there’s nothing more to say."

After finishing his piece, Yang Yi wiped the knife he’d taken off on his clothes, then he pulled out a tissue from his pocket to grip the blade and offered the handle towards the young man he had just released, saying, "Yours, giving it back to you. Also, you picked the wrong person to provoke, but I have decided to forgive you. And I’m not the kind to meddle in other’s affairs, you understand?"

The young man, his face filled with terror, shook his head.

Yang Yi looked towards Kate and asked, "Am I saying it wrong?"

Kate, still furious, replied, "The pronunciation is a bit off, but the grammar is correct. He understands."

Understanding was good enough, so Yang Yi sternly instructed the young man in German, "Take it!"

The young man flinched and took the knife.

Yang Yi clapped his hands together and stated, "It’s like nothing happened, got it?"
