Yang Yi quickly made a decision. Since one light bulb had already begun to shine, he must add another light bulb to the mix, allowing the two light bulbs to illuminate each other, thus giving himself a chance.

When Kate shopped for Yang Yi, she always spotted a piece of clothing and would pay for it without even measuring Yang Yi, because she knew his size. As the chief makeup artist for the Organization of Water, her judgment was unquestionable.

Xiao Ran wouldn’t pull Yang Yi aside and tell him that a particular outfit suited him. Instead, she would just glance at him and then casually say, "This one looks alright; it’s yours."

Both women were wealthy, very wealthy in fact, each harboring a rather unhealthy consumption concept and both were adept at disguising it. Skipping the step of Yang Yi trying on clothes was one thing, but the most troublesome part was that they could even ommit them trying on clothes themselves.

The consequence of knowing at a glance what would fit and what wouldn’t meant that Xiao Ran and Kate were buying things for themselves at the same time they shopped for Yang Yi, rapidly and decisively. And the killer was that they expected Yang Yi to carry their purchases.

As for Tang Guo, she shopped for herself, but she didn’t want to carry her own things either, so she handed them over to Chris.

Three wealthy women shopping together was simply a disaster, especially for those accompanying them on the shopping spree.

So, quite quickly, and within less than half an hour, Yang Yi found his hands were not enough; even his neck was laden with shopping bags, whereas Chris had it much better since he only had to carry things for Tang Guo.

Finally, burdened beyond endurance, Yang Yi looked at Chris and said, "Help me with some of my things."

Chris’s face was so dark it was as if he was about to drip gloom. Reluctantly taking many of Yang Yi’s items, he eventually couldn’t help but say, "Can I go back now? I’ll put these in the car and head back, is that okay?"

Yang Yi gave Chris a sidelong glance and said, "What do you think?"

"Not a single thing here is mine, yet I’m carrying the most. I can’t even buy a shirt for myself."

"Who’s the boss?"

Chris replied with frustration, "Forget I said anything."

After walking a bit longer, Chris suddenly said, "Boss, just tell me quietly, were you faking it earlier? Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone."

Yang Yi looked at Chris again and said, "Faking what?"

Chris whispered, "You were pretending to be sick, right?"

Had he been found out? After a brief moment of contemplation, Yang Yi ultimately decided to stubbornly stick to his story. This is something he couldn’t possibly confess honestly, absolutely not.

He sighed softly and said, with a look of helplessness, "Why would you think that? Why would I pretend to be sick? Do you think it’s fun or something?"

Chris, with a puzzled expression, said, "Is it really true? But I feel it’s impossible. You never mentioned having such a problem before, and you also look too... exaggerated."

Yang Yi’s face darkened as he said, "Am I supposed to tell everyone I have a problem? Are you out of your mind?"

Looking at Yang Yi’s annoyed expression, Chris said softly, "Okay, I really thought you were faking your own death here. If that’s the case, I suggest you see a doctor; it would be better."

Yang Yi, showing clear impatience, said, "I told you I’m fine. But now I need to ask you—don’t you know why I called you here? Idiot! Get Tang Guo away from here!"

Chris was obviously in a difficult position as he said, "But I have no such intentions towards Tang Guo, and besides, boss, I think you should give up."

"What?"

With an expression of resignation, Chris said, "The whole world knows you like Xiao Ran, the whole world also knows you like Kate, and even more so, the whole world knows they both like you. The problem is, the whole world knows you can’t have them both. If you ask me, you can only choose one, or perhaps neither. This can’t continue."

With a mournful look, Chris said, "This time I admit defeat. Please don’t ask me to do this kind of thing again next time, no, there won’t even be a next time—I’ll make sure to stay far away from you all."

After complaining for a bit, Chris got up from the bench he was sitting on, walked over to Tang Guo, and said, "Hey, I saw a pair of shoes I really liked; could you help me take a look?"

Tang Guo cheerfully responded, "Sure, let’s go. We can go together."

Chris hastily said, "No need, no need for everyone to come; just you is enough. It’s just over here."

Chris coaxed and deceived Tang Guo into leaving, and Yang Yi seized the opportunity to turn to Xiao Ran and Kate with a flattering smile and said, "Not going with them? I also have my eye on a pair of shoes; come take a look with me?"

Without a spoken agreement, the three of them left the boutique, and then Yang Yi suddenly said, "How about we go eat? I’m getting a bit hungry."

Xiao Ran instinctively wanted to refuse, but Yang Yi looked convincingly weary, and so she finally changed her mind.

"Alright, then let’s go eat."

Xiao Ran was reluctant, and Kate didn’t want to take Xiao Ran with her. But seeing Yang Yi’s ’I’m already so tired’ look, Kate finally said, "Alright, then let’s go eat."

Yang Yi was thrilled. No matter what, being able to ask both women out for a meal was a victory. For him, it was already a tremendous triumph, even though his methods were indeed somewhat despicable and quite crude.

His excitement overcame his guilt, and Yang Yi walked cheerfully in the middle because Xiao Ran and Kate instinctively took positions to his left and right. As for letting the two of them walk side by side? Impossible.
