"Could it be a miscalculation? Impossible."

After muttering to himself in astonishment a few times, McDonald suddenly exclaimed, "Ah, I see, it’s just that the wall is too thick. Move back, move back!"

The dust was too thick for any night vision to be of use, and before Yang Yi could even get a clear look at the wall, McDonald had already called for a retreat.

A moment later, McDonald shouted loudly, "Detonate."

There was another explosion, followed shortly by a dull thud.

Yang Yi couldn’t wait for McDonald’s explanation and charged forward once more.

A one-meter-thick wall had collapsed, creating a large hole two meters wide and one and a half meters high, surrounded by broken rebar. It was indeed a reinforced concrete structure, but McDonald had accomplished it.

The wall was so thick that when it fell, it formed a high step. Yang Yi jumped up and quickly climbed over.

On the other side of the wall, the air was also filled with dust, but Yang Yi could vaguely see something on the ground.

Yang Yi took a few steps forward and then he saw what was lying on the ground—bent over, he saw it was gold.

McDonald exclaimed in amazement by Yang Yi’s side.

Yang Yi ignored McDonald’s marveling and barked into the walkie-talkie, "How’s the situation outside?"

"We’re engaged in combat. The enemy is mainly concentrated inside the repair shop, with strong firepower, but they can’t come out!"

The response came from Zhang Yong; they had the Grey-cloaked People barricaded inside the building, unable to come out, which provided the cleaners with ample time to transport the gold.

What made Yang Yi anxious, however, was why the cleaners hadn’t arrived yet.

Just then, Yang Yi saw the large ring on the metal door begin to turn suddenly.

After a brief pause, the ring continued to turn with unstoppable force.

"They’re trying to open the vault door, come and help me! Quick!"

McDonald might have been old, but his reactions were anything but slow. He rushed forward, grabbed the ring on the other side, and then Anton quickly placed his hand on it as well.

"This is the handle to open the door. The door is at least fifty centimeters thick! In order to open this iron door, one has to use a special lock and method of opening. This door can withstand forced entry."

Hank only took a glance, hurriedly spoke, and also grabbed the ring. Then, he loudly said, "The password has already been input on the outside. Next, we can turn this disk. It wasn’t that they couldn’t enter at all but, the Grey-cloaked People must have realized something was wrong after the explosion, which was loud, and they would have known about Yang Yi and his team’s real method. However, the guards of the vault wouldn’t have known the password. By the time the people with the password decided to open the vault, it was already too late; Yang Yi had got there first.

Yang Yi urgently shouted, "Someone help! Block this door. Is there any way to destroy it?"

"Yes, there is! This kind of door is designed to prevent entry from the outside, so once explosives are used to breach it forcefully, the central axis of the lock will break, rendering the door unable to be opened by normal means. But we want to ensure that the door can’t be opened. That means..."

"Stop with the science lesson already! Use explosives!"

Yang Yi roared and then said to McDonald, "What are you waiting for? Blow it up!"

Brian and Paul also came up and grabbed the ring, but even though the speed of the ring’s rotation was slowing down, it was still turning slowly.

McDonald took out a big lump of C4 and slapped it onto the turning ring, and then Hank urgently said, "Here! Put one here too!"

All five of them let go of the ring and ran together towards the hole they had blown open. They quickly climbed out of the hole, and the ring instantly sped up its rotation.

McDonald pressed the detonator and waited for a colossal explosion. Ignoring the dust billowing out, Yang Yi raised his gun and rushed back into the vault.

Upon reaching the front of the ring, Yang Yi laughed heartily and exclaimed loudly, "It’s not turning anymore, successful!"

Hank took a look and let out a long sigh of relief, smiling and saying, "Yes, successful. Now they won’t be able to open this door. We can take the gold away quietly, and they can’t do a thing about it. Wow, so much gold..."

Just then, a loader with bright headlights drove down.

It was small, only slightly bigger than a lawn mower, a tracked loader with its front bucket and hydraulic arm clearly installed after the fact.

The janitor even had a small loader manufactured specifically for transporting gold. But that made sense because thirty-three tons of gold were not the same as thirty-three kilograms. Without machinery, who knows how long it would have taken to transport all the gold out.

But it wasn’t over yet. One after another, tracked vehicles came down, each carrying a big bag.

They stopped every few meters, and as soon as a vehicle stopped, the person riding on it immediately got down, connected a conveyer belt between the two vehicles, and within two minutes, a relay-style conveyor belt system was completed.
