Chapter 469: Chapter 457 Request to Land
Yang Yi and the man he had killed now looked about sixty to seventy percent alike, but this was far better than the mask he had prepared in advance.
However, Yang Yi now was like a melting wax figure, and if anyone got close to him, they would immediately notice his strange face.
Kate glanced at her watch and whispered, "It took four minutes!"
For someone to enter first class, have a few words with the boss, and come back in four minutes wasn’t too slow.
Yang Yi lay flat on the ground, he propped himself up with his hand and slowly sat up, then tilted his head back so the floppy mask wouldn’t fall off.
After Yang Yi stood up, Kate quickly straightened his clothes and whispered, "You’re good to go."
Keeping his head tilted back, Yang Yi walked to the cabin door, then slowly lowered his head,
He didn’t even dare to breathe heavily as he stood behind the cabin door.
Alexander, who was always watching outside, raised his hand, and when he thought the timing was right, he lowered it.
The gold had been continuously unloaded from the truck, and the truck that delivered the gold stopped right by the hangar door, less than ten meters away, surrounded by forty or fifty people dressed in black and wearing masks, although it was unclear whether it was intentional or not, as the gold, once unloaded from the truck to the ground, wasn’t taken directly into the hangar by the forklift.
Thirteen cases of gold had already been moved, and these cases were especially sturdy large iron boxes with gaps at the bottom to facilitate forklift loading and unloading, and even had especially robust wheels, so they could be pushed along the ground, otherwise, a box full of gold could never be moved by humans alone.
Chris was very anxious inside, but he didn’t look it at all.
Roy kept his eyes on the gold being moved off the truck, but he occasionally glanced over at the airplane’s cargo door.
Just as Roy looked back at the gold, his not so familiar yet somewhat familiar partner appeared at the plane’s cargo door.
Roy didn’t see his own teammate, but Chris did, and with a light cough, he said, "Hey."
When Roy looked toward him, Chris pointed at the plane’s cargo door, and Roy’s gaze immediately followed.
Yang Yi and Roy were only about thirty meters apart, and if Roy got within ten meters of him, he would definitely notice something was off right away.
After Roy looked his way, Yang Yi nodded, then he extended his hand towards the gold and gently waved twice, signaling to start moving the gold onto the plane, he nodded at Roy again and then turned back into the cabin door.
With just a nod of his head, Yang Yi felt something sliding on his face, then he turned around as fast as he could without arousing suspicion, and immediately pressed his hand against his glasses, using them to hold the slipping mask in place.
A stretching face, the mask still elongating and deforming, Yang Yi released his glasses and grabbed the mask on his face, and by the time he reached the inside of the door, the mask had already slipped into his hand.
Alexander, with half his body exposed, extended his thumb from the hand not showing outside the door, signaling that everything was okay.
Yang Yi breathed a long sigh of relief.
Chris had no idea that Yang Yi’s fake face had almost fallen off just now.
Roy, looking relieved, called out loud to the people still standing by the truck, "Hurry up, load the cargo onto the plane, quickly!"
The forklift delivered the first box of gold onto the plane, and Aurora’s people pushed the box into the interior of the cargo hold.
As time ticked by second by second, Chris remained leisurely, and after about twenty boxes had been sent into the cargo hold, he picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Pay attention to the placement of the cargo, can’t affect the balance."
Chris took almost twenty minutes, and all forty boxes of gold were loaded onto the plane, while the fuel truck was still refueling the aircraft.
Roy never showed any signs of suspicion. After all the gold was loaded, he too visibly relaxed.
Chris didn’t know the exact number of boxes of gold, but when he saw that the forklift stopped moving after loading forty, he felt reassured. He then picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Close the cargo doors, secure the goods properly, and be careful."
After putting down the walkie-talkie, Chris casually mentioned, "Everything’s going smoothly, we’ll be able to take off soon. Should we notify the airport?"
"No need. No other planes will use the runway before you take off. After all, there are many prying eyes here, and the terminal can see this spot, so it’s best to be quick."
Chris couldn’t wish for anything faster. He nodded and said, "Prepare for takeoff as soon as refueling is complete."
Having said that, Chris turned to Roy and asked, "Do you need to go up and say hello? If so, please hurry up."
Having already deceived two others, Chris didn’t mind tricking Roy into getting on the plane for a clean sweep.
Roy thought for a moment and shook his head, "No need, the boss didn’t ask me to go up, so I won’t."
After a couple of forced laughs, Chris continued to watch the fuel truck, and that’s when Roy asked in a grave voice, "Do we need to fill up the tank?"
Chris shook his head, "No, there’s no need to fill it up, just enough will do, we’re half-way..."
He stopped midway, shrugged, and then lowered his voice after glancing at the silent figure standing beside them, "Does he speak English?"
Roy slightly shook his head, calmly responding, "Fortunately, he doesn’t."
Chris whistled softly, then smiled and said, "That’s good, otherwise the boss might get angry, haha."
After a couple more dry laughs, one fuel truck had already finished refueling, and someone on Chris’s walkie-talkie said, "We have enough fuel, ready for takeoff."
Chris breathed a sigh of relief, then he turned to Roy, extended his hand, and again with a casual attitude, shook Roy’s hand, smiling, "Goodbye, good luck to you."
"Goodbye."
Chris quickly walked up the gangway, and as soon as he got on the plane, the stair truck immediately drove away.
At that moment, Roy also waved his hand and loudly ordered his people, "Let’s get out of here!"
Roy hurriedly got into the car, and after they had driven some distance, the Boeing 747’s engines started, and the plane, already turned and ready, began to move forward.
The plane picked up speed, and Roy turned his head for a glance, then smiling at the person beside him, said, "Everything went smoothly, we completed our mission, this calls for a celebration."
The person beside Roy was expressionless, and just then, his phone rang. After taking the call, he looked at Roy with a surprised expression, "The tower says United Flight 176 is requesting a landing? What’s going on, is the pilot drunk?"
Roy froze for a moment, then immediately turned his head again to watch the plane, just as its nose wheel lifted off, his face instantly turned pale.
"Oh, shit..."
Roy snatched his own phone, but he didn’t dial. Instead, he violently grabbed the clothes of the person next to him, yelling, "Make the troops defending the airport fire a missile at that plane! No, no! Notify the air force to scramble fighter jets to force that plane to land!"
