Chapter 441: Chapter 429: Night Visit

Jethro wouldn’t explain to Yang Yi why he had to go there, let alone what he needed to do. He just told him where to go, and Yang Yi did just that.

After a day of running back and forth, Jethro’s face showed no sign of fatigue; he still looked invigorated, which Yang Yi really admired.

After walking for over two hours, Jethro finally said, "We’re here, keep walking straight, I need to make a call."

Yang Yi didn’t even know where they had arrived. He only knew that under Jethro’s guidance, they came to a small city; he saw road signs, but he didn’t recognize the words on them.

Jethro took out another satellite phone, dialed a number, and soon started a conversation, but he was speaking in Ukrainian, which Yang Yi couldn’t understand.

Luckily, Brian would definitely understand.

Shortly after, Jethro hung up the phone and said, "Wait here."

Yang Yi stopped the car, and after what must have been half an hour, a car appeared opposite him and then drove straight over to stop in front of his car.

After getting out of the car and having a low conversation with the newcomer, Jethro returned to the vehicle and said in a deep voice to Yang Yi, "Help me with something; it’s not difficult or particularly dangerous, but it’s not part of your regular tasks, so I can pay you a bit extra."

Yang Yi asked in a serious tone, "What is it?"

Jethro, with a smile, replied, "I need to deal with a guy who won’t cooperate. He’s living here. What do you say? Are you willing to help me out?"

Dealing with someone meant assassination, which indeed wasn’t something mercenaries normally did nor was it within the scope of tasks for Trident when hired. However, since they were already guarding Jethro, taking on a little extra work as a hitman wasn’t too much.

"Alright, we can help you."

Jethro smiled and said, "Good, let’s go. Just follow the car ahead."

Following the lead car, Yang Yi and his team arrived at a residential area in the city center, where the car stopped.

"We don’t need too many people, just two or three with quick hands, but they need to be ruthless."

Jethro said flatly before getting out of the car, and Yang Yi hesitated for a moment before saying into the walkie-talkie, "Gambler and Holy Water, come here, everyone else stand by for support."

Yang Yi and Brian followed suit, getting out of the car to stand by Jethro’s side.

Zhang Yong and Paul also joined Jethro.

Jethro checked his watch and whispered, "It’s already three in the morning, we can make our move now, guys, let’s go."

A young man who had come to guide the way was leading in front. After walking a bit, he pointed at a house shrouded in darkness and muttered a few words.

After pointing out the house, the young man immediately turned and left, while Jethro turned to Yang Yi and the others, shrugged his shoulders, and whispered, "Alright, this is the place. Go in, control everyone, and then I need to talk to someone inside, okay?"

Yang Yi shook his head and replied softly, "No problem."

The house looked ordinary and wasn’t big. Yang Yi activated his low-light night vision device to get a better look at the house.

The door lock was simple, a pick could open it, but after thinking it over, Yang Yi decided not to pick the lock to enter. If they were going in, it should be done the mercenary way.

Yang Yi gestured with his hand and then whispered, "Gambler, Holy Water, you two go in first."

Zhang Yong took a few running steps, grabbed the top of the wall, and silently flipped over, landing without a sound, and quickly opened the main gate from the inside.

Jethro was the first to walk in. He moved swiftly, pointed at the door, and said in a low voice, "Go in, there are only four people inside. Subdue them, but don’t fire your guns."

Paul quickly approached the door, which was locked, but the main door to the house opened with a mere twist.

Paul shrugged his shoulders; then, he pushed the door open, turned around to make an unclear hand gesture to Yang Yi and the others, and was the first to rush in.

Yang Yi also rushed in after him.

They moved quickly, but made almost no sound. Yang Yi followed Paul up to the second floor, then he heard a faint snoring from one of the rooms.

Paul gestured to Yang Yi, then he took hold of the doorknob, slowly turned the lock, and began to push the door open gradually.

The door creaked as it opened, and upon hearing the noise, Paul suddenly quickened the pace of opening the door.

Yang Yi immediately stormed in and saw a man on the bed suddenly sit up.

It was too late, everything was too late. As the awakened man reached to turn on the light, Yang Yi’s gun was already pressed against his head.

"Don’t move!"

The light was turned on anyway, and the woman still in bed was startled awake. The moment she realized there was another person in the room, she subconsciously tried to scream.

Paul knocked out the woman in time.

Then, Jethro walked in leisurely.

Jethro raised his arms and shouted at the man who had sat up, "Hello, General Shakov."

The man sitting on the bed, in his forties, asked in a deep voice after seeing Jethro, "Who are you?"

"Me? I’m Jethro. Remember, I called you? Remember?"

"You’re that arms dealer. So what are you doing in my house?"

Jethro scratched his head, then smiled and said, "You don’t need to ask, do you? You should be quite clear about my intentions."

Shakov took a deep breath and said somberly, "I remember we had already made an agreement, so what do you want now coming to my place?"

Jethro shrugged and replied, "I don’t think that was an agreement. I took your attitude as a threat, General Shakov."

Shakov fell silent for a moment, then murmured, "What do you want? I can give it to you."

Jethro laughed and said, "What I want is actually quite simple, and you can give it to me. But the problem is you’re too greedy, General Shakov. Don’t you understand? Times have changed. Big Ivan gives you six hundred thousand US dollars a year, and you want ten million US dollars a year from me. But the problem is, you’re not worth that price."

"You can give less..."

Jethro suddenly waved his hand and said sternly, "No, I don’t want to talk any further with you. I think it is better to talk to someone else after you are dead. Instead of paying a high price to snatch you from Big Ivan, it would be more beneficial for me to have someone new in your place. Your mistake is that you don’t actually have the right to bargain, yet you did just that, General Shakov. Betrayal also should be based on value."

General Shakov’s expression froze, then he said with a quivering voice, "Are you going to kill me?"

Jethro smiled, then he leaned closer to Shakov, and said in a deep voice, "I think it would be better to include the whole family, don’t you think?"
