Chapter 437: Chapter 425 Eavesdropping Device

After Jethro had provided them with a detailed description of the house’s layout and the distribution of the bodyguards, Yang Yi and the other three quickly approached a two-story building with a courtyard wall. The iron gate was tightly closed, and the lock on the gate indicated that the house was equipped with a security system.

Observing from a corner that was out of the surveillance cameras’ reach, Yang Yi whispered, "There are cameras, infrared access control, both forcing the door or climbing the wall would trigger the alarm and alert the people inside."

Brian whispered, "There are people inside with guns, and we can’t harm anyone."

Zhang Yong shook his head and said, "This is tough, really tough. Not being able to harm anyone is like having our hands and feet tied; it’s troublesome."

Yang Yi whispered, "If we can’t use force, we have to outsmart them. We have to lure the people outside and then rush in to control everyone before they can react."

Paul whispered, "That could get messy. We should get in without alerting anyone inside."

Yang Yi shook his head, whispering, "The idea is to avoid hurting people as much as possible, but if we’re in danger, do we just wait to be taken out by them? Please, this isn’t our style. We avoid hurting people as long as it ensures our safety. But if there’s danger, we can’t be concerned about that."

Zhang Yong laughed and said, "Then why bother tricking them? Just climb over the wall and charge in. Use guns if we have to, but only if necessary; it’s simpler and faster."

Yang Yi nodded, then said in a determined voice, "Let’s do it. How should we proceed?"

Brian whispered, "Paul and I can go up easily. As for you two, it’s up to your skills."

After that, Brian tilted his head towards Paul, and they both left quickly.

Zhang Yong chuckled and said, "The old man is stubborn. Come on, I’ll lift you. Keep an eye out. Let’s go!"

Yang Yi and Zhang Yong dashed towards the courtyard wall, not worrying about the surveillance cameras. Then both Zhang Yong and Paul crouched down almost simultaneously, and Yang Yi and Brian leaped, stepping on the outstretched hands of Zhang Yong and Paul.

Bending halfway, Zhang Yong stretched out his hands to support Yang Yi’s feet, pushed up forcefully, and with that push, Yang Yi shot upward, grabbed the wall, and with a strong push from his arms and his right foot on top of the wall.

Yang Yi lay on the wall, reached down to grab Zhang Yong’s hand, and with a strong pull, Zhang Yong climbed up onto the wall.

Brian and Paul’s movements mirrored Yang Yi’s almost exactly.

Zhang Yong and Paul jumped down from the wall first, followed by Yang Yi and Brian. As they climbed down, two men emerged from the brightly lit main door, guns drawn.

The distance was only three or four meters. Zhang Yong tossed something, hitting the first bodyguard who emerged squarely in the face. The bodyguard fell backward, and Paul rushed forward, striking the second bodyguard’s raised gun hand with a smack that knocked the pistol to the ground. He then elbowed the bodyguard in the neck and barged into the room.

A bodyguard was fumbling with the safety catch on a submachine gun when Paul yelled in English, "Don’t move! I’ll kill anyone who does!"

This bodyguard wasn’t much of an expert, more like a groundskeeper. Yang Yi and Brian rushed past the ground floor hall, holding their pistols and running swiftly upstairs.

Several second-floor room doors were open, but one was shut. Yang Yi charged over, threw the door open, and shouted, "Don’t move!"

In the study, a middle-aged man with thinning hair and glasses stood behind a desk, his face a picture of astonishment. Yang Yi aimed his gun at the man’s head and said sternly, "Don’t move, or I’ll shoot you dead!"

The middle-aged man was none other than Arseny. Jethro hadn’t said that he had to be nice to Arseny, so Yang Yi quickly walked up to Arseny and whispered, "Turn around, and don’t move, or I’ll kill you."

Yang Yi stood behind Arseny, then he gave Brian a signal with his eyes. Brian quickly walked to the front of Arseny, grabbed his collar, and said sternly, "Don’t move!"

Behind Arseny, Yang Yi swiftly attached a listening device the size of a grain of rice under the office desk, which looked like a wad of snot...

As a spy, not carrying a few listening devices would simply be an insult to his profession.

Brian saw what Yang Yi was doing. He pointed his gun at Arseny and said in a deep voice, "Sit down, and don’t move."

In the walkie-talkie, Yang Yi spoke quietly, "Boss, you can come in now, we have the situation under control. Everyone else, stay alert for any activity outside, and report anything unusual at any time. Be careful."

After speaking, Yang Yi looked at Arseny and said harshly, "Open the gate!"

Arseny’s face was filled with terror. He pointed at the ground and said softly, "The people below can control the gate."

"You watch him, and I’ll go make someone open the door."

Having said that to Brian, he walked out of the room, closed the door behind him, then he scanned the surroundings quickly. Soon after, he crouched down and shoved a circular disc the size of a button into a crevice of the hallway molding.

The disc wasn’t a listening device, but a signal amplifier, since the listening device’s signal was too weak to be transmitted out of this house, but with an amplifier, it could.

Stealthily, making no noise at all, Yang Yi entered Arseny’s bedroom, placed another listening device, then quickly went downstairs.

He had the controlled bodyguard open the door, then in the living room, he placed another listening device on the sofa.

Jethro arrived. He followed Yang Yi quickly upstairs into Arseny’s study. As soon as he entered, he gestured to Brian, "Alright, put the gun down."

Brian put down his gun, and then Jethro said to Arseny, "I’m very sorry to meet you this way, but you rejected meeting with me, so I had to resort to this method. I really don’t mean any offense. Sorry."

After finishing, Jethro turned to Brian and said, "Please wait for me downstairs for a moment. I won’t be long, thank you."

Yang Yi and Brian put away their guns and quickly walked down the stairs, sitting in the living room on the first floor, waiting for Jethro.

What Jethro and Arseny talked about, Yang Yi didn’t know now, but he would in a moment.

Sitting calmly on the sofa, looking at the four disheartened and worried bodyguards, Yang Yi suddenly said, "Gentlemen, there’s no need to be afraid. This is just business talk. You won’t be harmed."

A bodyguard holding his forehead looked up at Yang Yi, then bowed his head again. His forehead had just been struck by Zhang Yong and was still bleeding, while Zhang Yong was tossing a hand grenade in the air, catching it, tossing it again, catching it again. It was with that hand grenade that he had hit the bodyguard.

Although he knew that hand grenades were not that easy to explode, Yang Yi couldn’t help but say, "Stop playing with the hand grenade, it’s not a toy."
