Chapter 367: Chapter 355: The Argument

McDonald Quinn was a legend of an era, but whether he was a legend of the time or a living legend, what did it matter?

Yet Mike thought it mattered, so he kept staring at the photo of McDonald Quinn, perhaps reminiscing about the era that belonged to him and McDonald, or maybe McDonald Quinn was his idol?

Just then, Brian and the other two came down.

Brian walked straight to the dining table and sat down, with Paul and Charles sitting down to his left and right, directly opposite Mike.

After sitting down, Brian said in a deep voice, "We’ve received the money, and we’re leaving soon. The tickets are purchased, a direct flight to Moscow tonight."

Mike glanced at Brian and said indifferently, "Hmm."

Brian took a breath and continued in a solemn tone, "I know you’ve always had a problem with me, and I know you never trusted me. No matter what I do, you won’t trust me."

Mike said quietly, "If it’s time to go, then go. Why say all this?"

Paul looked somewhat annoyed, but Brian raised his hand to stop Paul, who was about to speak, and continued in a stern voice, "I have nothing to say about the past, but I just want to tell you that I made a mistake once; I won’t make the same mistake again."

Mike smiled, yet said nothing.

After a moment of contemplation, Brian said, "I will look for Kate, but I will also find out who the real mole is. I don’t believe that after so many years you don’t have any suspects. Tell me who it is."

Mike replied coolly, "The operations division just needs to handle operations. When I’m sure who it is, I’ll tell you."

Brian clenched his teeth, then finally couldn’t help but snort.

At that moment, Paul shouted angrily, "The infiltrator must be one of your people from the intelligence agency. If you don’t say, it must be because you’re afraid to admit it!"

Mike gave Paul a disdainful look and then returned his gaze to the computer screen, completely ignoring Paul.

Angry, Paul stood up, but although Brian looked furious too, he still grabbed Paul and pulled him back to his seat. Then, in a heavy tone, he said, "It’s okay if you don’t want to talk. We’ll find the mole ourselves."

Finally, Mike spoke, "I have a few suspects. After elimination, there are four people who have access to the specific personnel list of the Middle East Intelligence Agency. All four are suspects. Even if I tell you who these four people are, what can you do? They all hold high positions in the CIA now. Do you plan to go to the United States and confront them directly?"

With a scoff, Mike shifted his gaze away from the computer and said to Brian, "As I said, the operations division is just responsible for operations. You don’t need to worry about other matters, and besides, are you even capable of handling such affairs?"

After speaking, Mike turned the computer toward Brian and pointed at the photo of McDonald Quinn, saying in a grave voice, "McDonald Quinn. He was captured by MI6, his beloved wife died, but he didn’t come out of MI6’s prison by betraying his comrades. Do you know him?"

Mike’s words were laden with mockery directed at Brian. Even if Brian felt guilty and wished to reconcile with Mike, he could not endure such scorn from Mike.

Finally, Brian stood up and then he roared, "I’ve atoned for my mistakes; I was locked up for more than twenty years! I’ve had enough! I don’t want to hear your bullshit any longer!"

Mike was unyielding. Narrowing his eyes, he said to Brian with a grave voice, "Have you atoned? Has anyone forgiven you? Did I say I had?"

Brian was about to leave, but Mike refused to hide his true opinion of him any longer.

If the two of them continued to argue, it was going to come to blows, and Yang Yi was certain the worse off would definitely be Mike.

"Alright, alright! Stop arguing, Mike, Brian, I think both of you need to cool down. Mike, it’s been a long time, and I don’t think it’s right to keep bringing up the past. People need to move forward. If both of you want to root out the mole, then you should be cooperating. I think it’s wrong for you to keep poking at Brian’s sore spots. We should be working together, sincerely cooperating. Don’t forget, you both belong to the Organization of Water now!"

Yang Yi, the supposed leader of the Organization of Water, may only be so in name, but he was ultimately the head of the Organization of Water, and Mike and Brian were part of the Organization of Water too, even if only in name.

As the leader, Yang Yi couldn’t just play peacemaker when his subordinates were disputing; he felt Mike was being too excessive, so he had to speak up.

However, asking Mike to apologize to Brian was something Yang Yi didn’t dare do, since he didn’t feel confident enough in his role as the leader.

"Brian, Paul, Charles, you’re leaving today, and I want to give you a send-off. Let’s go have a big meal at a fancy restaurant to see you off, and also, since the Organization of Water has just perfectly completed its first mission, it’s also a good time to get together and celebrate," Yang Yi said.

Brian thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright."

After pondering for a short while, Mike looked at Yang Yi and said gravely, "Then let’s go celebrate."

Looking at Brian again, Mike said with a serious tone, "And give them a proper send-off."

It was clear that Mike didn’t want to go, but he agreed to Yang Yi’s suggestion since he had always tried to maintain Yang Yi’s authority within the Organization of Water. Now that Yang Yi had proposed a send-off for Brian, Mike would definitely not refute and tarnish Yang Yi’s face.

Kate and Xiao Ran had always felt somewhat awkward since they couldn’t intervene in the argument between Brian and Mike. As for Tang Guo and Schultz, they were entirely unaware of what had happened, so how could they even comment?

Now that the atmosphere had relaxed a bit, Schultz hurriedly said, "Can we eat hotpot? I think hotpot is great."

Yang Yi thought about it and smiled, "I don’t know if the fancy restaurant has hotpot, but we’ll definitely be able to have hotpot."

Brian slowly exhaled and then sat down, saying with a grave tone, "Hotpot sounds good."

Mike managed a strained smile and said, "It seems everyone likes hotpot, so let’s have hotpot."

With both Mike and Brian giving face, the atmosphere finally completely eased. Yang Yi quickly took out his phone and said, "I’ll call the captain right away to arrange it. If the fancy restaurant doesn’t have hotpot, he can prepare it for us. Alright, everyone, get ready; we’re about to head out."

In a low voice, Kate said, "Should we invite Boer?"

Yang Yi hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and said, "He’s still not fit for public places, and this is a gathering for the Organization of Water, so let’s have him stay at home."
