Chapter 358: Chapter 346: Why Bother?
Yang Yi’s complexion provided him with good camouflage.
After arriving at the car park where there were far fewer people, Yang Yi’s complexion allowed him to avoid arousing strong suspicion from Mihali Kovacek even if spotted.
Yang Yi continued to walk slowly, looking around and pretending to be on a phone call when Xiao Ran suddenly said, "Red Jaguar sedan! At the entrance of the aisle, they’re about to get in the car."
Yang Yi had already seen the car driven by Xiao Ran, but he didn’t know Mihali Kovacek’s location because he had never looked back. Xiao Ran, who was not far from him, had just spotted Lucy Clark taking out her keys to unlock the car door.
The lights of a Jaguar sedan flashed briefly, and the folded wing mirrors slowly unfolded, all of which Xiao Ran saw clearly. If Lucy Clark’s car had been blocked by other vehicles, Xiao Ran would not have noticed these details, but the Jaguar sedan was parked on the outer side of a row of cars, which made it visible to her.
Yang Yi immediately turned and looked toward Xiao Ran’s car, then raised his hand to wave, casually catching a glimpse of Mihali Kovacek’s position.
"Speed up! Honk the horn!"
Yang Yi was more than ten meters away from Mihali Kovacek, who was now by the car with his daughter.
Yang Yi turned around, now facing the car driven by Xiao Ran, with Mihali Kovacek and his daughter diagonally in front of him.
Yang Yi openly stared at Lucy Clark because, for a man, it would be abnormal not to glance at a woman who was indeed beautiful and dressed so flamboyantly.
And Yang Yi did not hide his scrutiny of Mihali Kovacek at all.
Mihali Kovacek stopped in his tracks, also sizing up Yang Yi. But Yang Yi’s gaze was purely out of curiosity, checking out the man next to a beautiful woman.
In contrast, the look Mihali Kovacek gave Yang Yi was filled with nervousness and caution,
Yang Yi’s complexion and appearance did indeed provide him with an excellent cover; he was not the kind of person Mihali Kovacek feared.
Xiao Ran honked the horn twice. Yang Yi raised his left arm in a wave, then strode quickly towards where Mihali was.
The Jaguar was parked at a three-way junction—to exit the car park via the nearest exit, Mihali’s location was on the inevitable route.
Mihali Kovacek stood by his car. Although he felt that Yang Yi did not appear to pose any threat, the constant tension had made him subconsciously stand by the car, scrutinizing Yang Yi’s every move.
Lucy Clark was already by the car and had opened the door; however, she turned in surprise to Mihali Kovacek when she noticed her father had not opened his door.
Yang Yi stood in front of the Jaguar’s bonnet, while Xiao Ran drove around the corner to parallel park beside the Jaguar. Xiao Ran, from behind the rolled-down window, smiled at Yang Yi and said, "Finally here, hurry up and get in."
Yang Yi leaned forward, opened the door behind the driver’s seat, and said loudly, "You must’ve been anxious waiting."
Seeing two Huaxia people, Mihali Kovacek completely let down his guard. He gave his daughter a neurotic smile, relaxed and just as he opened his car door, he noticed his daughter’s mouth agape in shock.
Yang Yi had already opened the door behind the driver’s seat, but instead of getting in, he turned and suddenly pounced toward Mihali’s back.
Mihali Kovacek realized something was wrong and spun around, but before he could fully turn, Yang Yi’s hand chop struck the back of his neck.
Mihali Kuvaček didn’t even grunt before slumping limply to the ground.
Yang Yi didn’t bother with Mihali. He pushed himself up with his hand, and his body slid over the hood of the Jaguar.
As his feet touched the ground, he rose to his full height. Yang Yi swung his right arm out again, delivering a heavy karate chop to Lucy Clark’s neck just before she could let out a sharp, high-pitched scream.
Lucy Clark’s instinctive reaction was slower than Yang Yi’s strike.
Wrapping his arms around Lucy Clark, Yang Yi then reached out to open the rear door of the Jaguar and, in one motion, shoved Lucy Clark onto the back seat.
After closing the rear door, he slid into the Jaguar from the driver’s side and looked around to make sure there was no dashcam. He cracked the window open slightly, leaving a small gap, and pressed the lock button on the center console. He then exited and casually closed the door.
As Yang Yi rounded the front of the car, he wiped the places he had touched with his sleeve. Although he was wearing fake fingerprint gloves, he didn’t even want to leave those behind.
By the time Yang Yi turned back, Xiao Ran had managed to get Mihali Kuvaček’s upper body into the car, but the rest of him was still hanging out.
A girl’s strength can only go so far. Xiao Ran was already considered strong among women, but moving a man who weighed ninety kilograms was still beyond her alone.
Yang Yi picked up the bag Mihali had been carrying and threw it into the car, and then he and Xiao Ran worked together to push Mihali inside.
They pulled the lying Mihali up to sit in the seat and moved his legs inside before closing the door. Yang Yi carefully surveyed the surroundings before going around to the other side and getting into the car.
After closing the door, Yang Yi let out a soft breath and murmured, "Let’s go."
Xiao Ran didn’t start the car but whispered back, "Are we really going to just leave that woman here? Wouldn’t it be better to take her with us?"
Yang Yi whispered back, "No need."
"Nonsense! How can there be no need!"
Xiao Ran said irritably, then anxiously added, "She saw your face. How can you just leave her behind without care? Did you kill her?"
Yang Yi smiled smugly and said, "Of course, I didn’t kill her. She’ll be out for at most two hours. Besides, she didn’t get a good look at my face. I made sure to cover half of it, and from her angle, she couldn’t have seen me clearly. Even if she did, I doubt she’d remember what I look like. It would actually be more troublesome to take her with us."
Although still hesitant, Xiao Ran started the car and drove off.
"Are you sure about how long she’ll be out? If she wakes up too soon and calls the police, we’ll be in trouble."
Yang Yi laughed and said, "I’ve knocked out at least six people using this technique. Don’t worry, she’ll be out for at least an hour."
When they got to Kate’s location, Xiao Ran parked the car to let Kate in. After getting in and glancing at the back seat, Kate immediately whispered, "Just one? Where’s the other?"
Xiao Ran whispered back, "I still think we should have taken that woman with us. Since you insist on not doing so, I hope your judgment is correct."
Kate immediately understood and threw a puzzled look at Yang Yi. In response, Yang Yi simply spread his hands and whispered, "Given Brian and Mike’s way of doing things, do you think that woman would still be alive if we took her with us? So, why bother?"
