Chapter 356 - 344: Iron Fist

Chapter 356: Chapter 344: Iron Fist

The roads were sparse with vehicles in the wee hours, allowing Yang Yi to race through the streets of London to his heart’s content.

Yang Yi’s dream was to become a racecar driver. Of course, that was his dream in the past, and now he could be considered half a racecar driver since he had been driving professional karts since he was young.

After returning to his home country from the United Kingdom, he hadn’t touched a car for quite some time, but once he had the means to buy one and indeed did so, he immediately got himself a racing driver’s license.

Yang Yi obtained a Class C racing license, the highest-level racing license he could get locally.

Many keyboard warriors or street racing savants are under the illusion that if they were given a racecar, they could triumph on an F1 track. Unfortunately, when it comes to racing, the advantage of professionals over amateurs isn’t just "trouncing"; it’s a complete and utter annihilation.

Most people can’t even begin to comprehend the rigorous training a professional race driver must undergo to hit the track. Driving on standard roads is a completely different ballgame from racing, and weaving in and out of traffic at sixty or seventy doesn’t prove one’s driving skills are high, it just proves one drives recklessly and irritatingly, nothing more.

But Yang Yi, he had already stepped one foot over the threshold into the race driving world.

Yang Yi never sought flashiness; he pursued speed and efficiency. He knew how to drift, but he would never use such techniques to take corners when chasing speed.

Xiao Ran had already witnessed Yang Yi’s driving skills, but for Kate, this was the first time seeing Yang Yi drive without any reservations, in a car that was capable enough to leverage his skills.

Therefore, after letting out a few screams while sitting in the passenger seat, Kate started feeling motion sick.

"Stop the car! Ugh... stop the car!"

Kate rolled down the window and then stuck her head out, beginning to vomit profusely.

Xiao Ran turned her head away in disgust as the outside of the window was smeared with filth.

"Get her a bag!"

Yang Yi didn’t stop the car, instead, he tried to avoid sudden starts and stops. After driving out of London’s urban area, he began to race along the highway at the highest speed possible.

Once the speed stabilized, Kate felt much better, although she was still quite uncomfortable.

This drive wasn’t one where they could relax and chat because Yang Yi had to concentrate on driving without a moment’s lapse. The speed limit on the UK’s highways is a maximum of 70 miles per hour, but Yang Yi was averaging 180 kilometers per hour, equating to about 110 miles per hour, which is a severe speeding violation, extremely dangerous, and something Yang Yi couldn’t afford to take lightly.

The highway wasn’t a racetrack; traffic was heavy, lanes were narrow, and there were speed cameras from time to time. Yang Yi’s car was equipped with what’s commonly known as a "radar detector," an illegal addition made by the previous owner who also liked to speed significantly.

Yang Yi maintained the highest speed possible and only had to refuel once along the way, never stopping otherwise — of course, leaving no chance for a break.

After five hours, Yang Yi drove from London to Glasgow, exhausted from driving flat out because racing does indeed drain physical and mental energy, especially since he had not slept all night and had also just completed a similarly taxing covert operation.

"Clean the outside of the car and switch the plates. I need to rest, I must get some rest. Keep an eye on the flight information and call me when it’s about to arrive."

It wasn’t so much that his body was tired, but his mind was truly starting to fog. It was only ten in the morning now, and he had some time to rest, so after parking the car at Riga Airport Latvia’s parking lot, he reclined his seat and fell asleep after leaving a few instructions.

The moment his eyes closed, Yang Yi was indeed very tired. Xiao Ran looked at Kate, who looked sickly, and said in a serious tone, "I’ll go check the flight information. You tidy up the car."

Leaving all her firearms in the car, Xiao Ran went to check the flight information.

They already knew the flight number of Mihali Kovacek. The plane had taken off from Riga Airport Latvia, which meant that Mihali had escaped from Warsaw, Poland, to Latvia in the past, and knowing the flight number naturally meant they could track his exact whereabouts.

Yang Yi felt as if he had just fallen asleep when he was shaken awake.

Xiao Ran opened the car door, stood outside, and said with an indifferent face, "Wake up, no more sleeping, it’s already twelve o’clock."

Yang Yi rubbed his face, got out of the car, and after stretching his body, he asked in a low voice, "Is everything clear now?"

"It’s clear, the plane landed on time, disembarked at gate twelve, checked luggage to be collected at carousel eight, if he has any checked baggage."

Yang Yi took a deep breath and said, "I’ll wait outside the terminal building to make a move, Kate will wait inside. Upon spotting Mihali, start tailing him. Xiao Ran, you drive and wait at the terminal entrance to pick us up."

Xiao Ran’s brows furrowed, then she exclaimed loudly, "Me on pickup duty again?"

Yang Yi looked at Xiao Ran rather helplessly and said, "You’ve got a gun! Of course, you should be in the car ready to pick us up if you’re armed!"

Xiao Ran, somewhat annoyed, retorted, "But this kind of operation doesn’t even require a gun! Why am I always the one to pick up?"

Yang Yi looked at Xiao Ran helplessly, but before he could say anything, Xiao Ran, extremely irritated, exclaimed, "Alright, alright! No need for any grand reasoning. It’s always me waiting outside for the pickup, I’ve had enough of it, aren’t you getting out of the car?"

Yang Yi got out of the car, and Xiao Ran took the driver’s seat with a disgruntled face. Then she put a tiny earpiece into her ear and said sourly, "Sound check."

"Sea God receiving, all normal."

Kate still seemed somewhat unwell, not yet fully recovered from the effects of motion sickness.

"Received, all normal."

After waiting for Kate’s response, Yang Yi suddenly realized a problem, that was, Kate never had a nickname or code name.

Yang Yi said to Kate, "Hey, do you have a nickname?"

Kate shook her head and replied, "No."

"Then we need to come up with a code name for you, what do you want to be called?"

Kate spread her hands and said, "I don’t know, I’ve never thought about it."

"Iron Fist!"

The nickname "Iron Fist" appeared in Yang Yi’s mind instantly and escaped his mouth just as swiftly. After announcing the nickname he had thought of for Kate, Yang Yi found himself more and more pleased with it.

"What do you think about the code name ’Iron Fist’?"

Kate frowned and said, "Iron Fist? But I’m a girl. How could I have a name like that?"

Yang Yi laughed and said, "Iron Fist is great, your fists are hard enough. Besides, having ’Iron Fist’ as a code name will make it hard for people to associate the name with you. Iron Fist sounds like a muscular man’s nickname, but you’re a very pretty girl. The greater the contrast, the safer it is. Plus, don’t you think it’s interesting?"

After considering for a moment, Kate smiled and said, "Alright, my code name will be ’Iron Fist’ then."

Just then, Xiao Ran, growing impatient, interjected, "Hey! Are you done yet? Flirting right now, do we still have a mission to do or not?"
