Chapter 355: Chapter 343: Capturing Alive
The call was fully monitored and recorded; many secrets ceased to exist the moment the phone was answered.
Unable to contain his excitement, Yang Yi stood up from his chair and, without thinking, raised his right arm, exclaiming loudly, "We did it!"
Indeed, Yang Yi and his team had accomplished their mission.
It had been confirmed over the phone that the caller was indeed Mihali Kuvacek, and the woman who had changed her name to Lucy Clark was also Mihali’s daughter.
At this point, all they needed to do was hand over the phone recording to Justin, and the rest would be out of Yang Yi’s hands. Justin would still have to pay, and pay in full.
Excited and thrilled, Yang Yizhen was truly satisfied with everything they had achieved.
Thirty years ago, when computer technology was not as widespread as it is now, it was almost impossible for just a handful of people to find someone without a trace in the vast sea of humanity—a feat that could only be accomplished by the power of a nation. But now, Yang Yi and his team had done it all in just four days.
Yang Yi took out a satellite phone and stepped aside, then dialed Justin’s number.
Yang Yi was worried that calling at four in the morning might annoy Justin, but it turned out his concerns were unwarranted; although Justin’s voice was groggy, as though he had just been roused from sleep, his tone didn’t carry the slightest hint of displeasure.
"Hello, Sea God, do you have some good news to tell me?"
"Yes, Mr. Justin, we have found Mihali Kuvacek."
Yang Yi of course knew it was incorrect to address Justin as "Mister," but since Justin insisted that Yang Yi call him by his first name, without adding any honorifics to his surname, Yang Yi had to show respect by addressing him with honorifics at the end of his name. Thankfully, most people in the underworld used aliases, so calling them anything wouldn’t seem impolite.
Justin was slightly surprised and raised his voice, asking, "That fast? Are you sure?"
"Yes, I’m very confident we’ve found Mihali Kuvacek."
After a brief silence, Justin laughed and said, "Very good, well done. Then give me the intelligence, and I’ll pay immediately after verification."
Yang Yi spoke in a low voice, "Wait, I want to know how much money I would get if I bring Mihali to you directly."
Without a hint of surprise, Justin laughed heartily before responding sternly, "The client did not set a price when posting the assignment, but I can ask now. Please wait a moment; I’ll get back to you quickly."
Yang Yi hung up the phone and, after waiting for about ten minutes, Justin called back.
"On top of the five million US Dollars due for the intelligence, if he’s dead, you get one million US Dollars, and if you capture him alive, you get five million US Dollars."
Justin quoted the price, and Yang Yi, without any hesitation, immediately responded, "We’ll deliver the person, and definitely alive."
Justin then said cheerfully, "Then I’ll get ready eight million US Dollars. Before the client pays me, you’ll get the money first."
"Good, thank you. We’ll be in touch."
After hanging up, Yang Yi returned to the dining room and immediately announced, "We’re going to Glasgow to bring back Mihali Kuvacek. Dead, he’s worth one million, alive, he’s worth five million US Dollars."
Checking his watch, Yang Yi said in a serious tone, "It’s four-thirty in the morning now. Mihali’s plane lands at half-past noon. We’re on a very tight schedule—we must leave right now."
Glasgow is 650 kilometers away from London, and driving would take at least four hours, assuming the roads are clear and Yang Yi is seriously speeding. Under normal conditions, it would take at least six to seven hours. By plane, it would only take an hour and a half, but that depends on flight availability. If there are no flights or the timing is not right, naturally, they would not be able to fly to Glasgow.
"Tang Guo, get online and book a flight now. Xiao Ran, prepare the weapons. We might have to drive there."
If they could fly, they certainly would prefer to fly to Glasgow, conveniently landing at the airport and taking down Mihali on the way. But if the flight times didn’t align, then Yang Yi and his team could only drive there. The train wasn’t even a consideration.
It takes five hours to travel from London to Glasgow by train, not including the time to get to the train station. From Glasgow station to the airport, the timing just wasn’t feasible.
Soon, Tang Guo said helplessly, "The earliest flight is at eight, but there are no tickets left. Then there’s one at 9:10 and another at 9:30. The earliest one at noon is at 12:20 and there are only two tickets available."
As flying was no longer an option, Yang Yi didn’t hesitate and said urgently, "We’ll drive. Tang Guo and Schultz don’t need to go."
Tang Guo urgently pleaded, "Can I come along, please..."
Yang Yi gestured with his hand and said sternly, "No, we need to speed, and having an extra person will increase the weight of the car. This isn’t the time to satisfy curiosity."
Kate whispered, "Shouldn’t we let Mike and the others know?"
No matter the commotion Yang Yi and the team were making below, Mike had not come out to take a look. Yang Yi didn’t believe that Brian and Mike were too old to hear noise; their lack of presence only indicated one thing—they were completely hands-off with this matter.
"No need, we can handle it ourselves. Pack the essentials, you have three minutes."
As he spoke, Yang Yi ran outside. He didn’t go for the several cars used for running errands but ran into the garage.
A white Mk6 Volkswagen Golf GTI—the only thing Yang Yi had bought on his own initiative, believing it to be absolutely necessary equipment.
He spent twenty thousand British Pounds on this second-hand hot hatch, a high price for a used car in the UK market, practically equivalent to a new car. But Yang Yi felt it was worth it, as the car had undergone moderate modifications and its performance met his requirements for when he needed to speed.
Of course, if there had been a better option, Yang Yi wouldn’t have bought a Golf GTI, but he didn’t have the money. He had to settle for a relatively affordable second-hand performance car to meet his needs for speed and handling.
Yang Yi got into the car, started it, and lightly pressed the accelerator. Once the roaring sound started, he put the car in gear and then reversed out of the garage.
Kate carried a backpack filled with her makeup essentials, while Xiao Ran carried a bag with some small weapons.
Yang Yi drove the car out and waited beside it as Xiao Ran and Kate both reached out to pull open the passenger door simultaneously.
Both their hands paused together, then Kate pointed at the passenger door and smiled, "You go."
Xiao Ran turned her face away and said, "No, you go ahead. I’m not used to sitting in front."
Yang Yi rolled down the window and said urgently, "What’s with the fuss? Get in the car!"
Xiao Ran raised her eyebrows while Kate smiled and opened the passenger door to get in the car.
Taking a deep breath and gritting her teeth, Xiao Ran decided that after this was all over, she would definitely give Yang Yi a piece of her mind. Then she also got into the car.
