Chapter 354: Chapter 342 It’s Him

Yang Yi felt that it might take several hours to analyze the data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, so he would have to wait in the ministry’s computer room for a few hours.

But after only forty minutes, Yang Yi received good news from Tang Guo.

"Black Lightning is done, we can pull out now."

Yang Yi was taken aback and said, "It’s finished?"

"Yes, it’s finished. The data we wanted has been downloaded, Black Lightning is erasing the traces of the infiltration, and in two more minutes, we can evacuate."

Yang Yi lowered his voice and said, "Are you sure?"

"Very sure."

Nobody wants to hear bad news, but good news that comes too unexpectedly can be hard to believe.

In fact, Yang Yi wanted to confirm again, but he thought it would be better to trust the professionals, so he whispered, "Understood, I’m starting to prepare for evacuation, I just need to unplug the transmitter, right?"

"Yes, and be mindful of cleaning up any traces. I mean the physical traces you’ve left, it wouldn’t be good if the Ministry of Internal Affairs found your fingerprints."

Yang Yi’s fingerprints had all been treated, but there was no need to mention this to Tang Guo now. He carefully unplugged the signal transmitter, then he turned off the night vision goggles and instead turned on a small flashlight.

Yang Yi had to restore the scene to its original state, leaving no trace whatsoever. Everything he touched with his hands had to be checked for marks, something that was impossible to observe clearly with night vision goggles, hence the need for the flashlight.

After a thorough check ensuring he had left no traces behind, Yang Yi turned the night vision goggles back on and whispered, "I have completed all the work, now starting to evacuate, over."

He had come silently, and now he was leaving without a trace, without arousing anyone’s attention, without incident or risk.

As soon as he got in the car, Yang Yi anxiously said, "Is everything taken care of?"

Tang Guo nodded and smiled, "Yes, everything is taken care of. Just wait a moment, I’m erasing the remaining traces, and soon we’ll be able to leave."

Yang Yi had removed his traces, but Tang Guo still needed to erase the traces from the network infiltration, so although Yang Yi was anxious, he still waited for Tang Guo to finish up.

The road to Martin Howard’s house was still calm, and by the time Yang Yi and his team arrived at Martin Howard’s home, Schultz and Martin Howard had already reached home ahead of them.

With an expressionless face, upon seeing Schultz and Kate, Yang Yi calmly asked in a low voice, "Did everything go smoothly?"

Kate merely nodded, while Schultz excitedly said, "Extremely smoothly, so smooth it’s hard to believe. You wouldn’t know how amazing a supercomputer is, it’s just so cool!"

After a light cough, stopping the overly excited Schultz from saying more, Yang Yi turned to Martin Howard and said solemnly, "Professor Howard, you are safe now."

Martin Howard just had a stern face, showing no interest in talking to Yang Yi.

Yang Yi was not offended; he still said indifferently, "I want you to understand something. If you call the police or tell anyone about what’s happened tonight, causing our actions to be exposed, then we will definitely retaliate. Meaningless or not, we will retaliate, with the most ruthless means. Because this is the way we survive. That’s all I have to say, and I hope you can understand."

After finishing, Yang Yi bowed slightly to Martin Howard, very sincerely said, "Sorry to have disturbed you, we’ll take our leave now, goodbye."

Martin Howard said coldly, "It’s better not to see each other again."

Yang Yi smiled and replied, "Yes, it’s better that way."

With a wave of his hand, Yang Yi and his two companions immediately left Martin Howard’s home.

As they moved away from the door, Kate whispered in Yang Yi’s ear, "I planted two bugs in his house."

Yang Yi nodded, forcefully suppressing his curiosity until they got in the car, when he couldn’t wait to say, "Kate, you drive. Schultz, let me see what you’ve got."

Schultz placed the laptop on his lap, pulled up the files, and said with pride, "Take a look. Five people. I selected the five most similar in appearance, all Polish immigrants born in the same year. The highest match is eighty-six percent, and the lowest is twenty-seven, but I still pulled them all up."

The first photo resembled Mihali Kovacek’s daughter very much.

"Lucy Clark, lives in Westminster, and here’s her phone number. Very good, excellent."

Yang Yi nodded in satisfaction, then quickly skimmed through the other individuals and felt there was no need to eliminate them one by one; the woman named Lucy Clark was almost certainly Mihali’s daughter.

"Now let’s go home, and then immediately monitor this number!"

Her identity still needed confirmation. Finding Mihali’s daughter was just a step in the process; their mission was to find Mihali Kovacek, so the job wasn’t done yet, and there was still plenty of work ahead for Yang Yi and his team.

Technically speaking, monitoring a call was too easy, especially after the target had been identified. Monitoring a specific phone number presented no difficulty at all.

When they reached home, the first thing they did was hack into the telephone company’s network and begin monitoring Lucy Clark’s calls. This task was child’s play for Schultz.

Using mobile location tracking, they pinpointed Lucy Clark’s exact whereabouts; she was not in London but in Glasgow, which was not too surprising.

Yang Yi planned to go to Glasgow as soon as it was light and start surveillance on Lucy Clark, then he would find a suitable opportunity to confirm Lucy Clark’s identity.

Everything went smoothly. After Kate helped Yang Yi remove his makeup, he washed his face at the kitchen sink, and the man who had been holding back from speaking immediately said with a sense of pride, "Mike and the others are going to be so surprised when they wake up tomorrow!"

Schultz was still sitting in front of the computer, but he raised a hand and said, "High five!"

Yang Yi, with a chuckle, walked over and gave Schultz a high five, then sat down at the dining table and asked with a smile, "Any movement from Professor Howard?"

Xiao Ran shook her head, "No, he’s just comforting that poor little dog. No sign of calling the police."

Yang Yi waved his hand and said, "Still, we must stay alert. We can’t relax in the next two days, but I can now declare, guys, our operation was indeed perfect, ha ha."

Just then, when everyone was in high spirits, Schultz suddenly said, "A call’s coming in! It’s Lucy’s cell phone!"

A call at just past four in the morning was definitely suspicious, but even before Yang Yi could ask, Schultz played the contents of the call; it was quickly answered.

Then Yang Yi heard a man’s low voice say, "I’ve bought the plane ticket. I’ll arrive by noon tomorrow. I’m safe now, don’t worry."

After the man finished speaking, a woman’s voice quietly responded, "Okay, Dad, I’ll pick you up at the airport tomorrow."
