Spy-x-War Showdown
Chapter 305 - 304

Chapter 305: 304

Yang Yi’s blade stabbed towards Bass’ throat with the fastest speed, and Bass’ knife lunged towards Yang Yi’s heart at the utmost velocity.

To draw a knife was to kill the enemy or be killed by the enemy, Yang Yi was fully aware of this.

If one tried to achieve the greatest victory with the smallest sacrifice, it was not the attitude of someone fighting desperately. To fight desperately, one must have a do-or-die spirit.

Yang Yi’s knife was in his right hand, and his left hand met Bass’ knife head-on, then he continued to stab towards Bass with an unstoppable momentum.

Yang Yi hoped to block the deadly knife with his left hand, but Bass did not choose to die together with him.

Bass dodged; to avoid the knife aimed at his throat, a change in direction was necessary, which inevitably affected the knife thrusting towards Yang Yi.

Raising the blade and slashing upwards, Bass changed his target, while Yang Yi could no longer hit Bass’ throat, so he took another lunge forward, swinging the blade rapidly to the left.

Bass’ knife slashed across Yang Yi’s arm, cutting a long gash, but Yang Yi’s arm did not lose function, and his knife wound Bass’ chest, leaving a slanted cut. The knife did not penetrate deeply, and blood quickly seeped out, but Bass’ movements were not affected at all.

Bass went from retreating to advancing, his knife tip already dropped now pointed upward, aiming to pierce from a lower angle into Yang Yi’s abdomen.

Yang Yi did not block or retreat; he roared, his left leg powering up as he dropped his right shoulder and slammed into Bass’ chest.

Bass’ knife pierced into Yang Yi’s lower abdomen, or rather, Yang Yi had deliberately collided with Bass’ knife.

But Bass could not drive the knife deeper into Yang Yi’s abdomen, nor could he pull the blade across to disembowel Yang Yi, because Yang Yi’s collision did not send Bass flying; instead, it broke a row of Bass’ ribs instantly.

The heavily struck Bass let go of his hands, releasing the knife hilt.

Yang Yi could have sent Bass flying, which would have caused him less harm. Instead, Yang Yi’s impact focused all his strength inside Bass’ body, rather than converting the force into the kinetic energy to send Bass flying.

Bass was too tough.

Yang Yi didn’t think too much, all his actions were instinctual, yet he believed this collision would instantly incapacitate Bass. However, although Bass indeed lost his mobility in the moment of impact, he only staggered back half a step.

Before Yang Yi could stab his knife into Bass’ throat, Bass suddenly swung his left hand in a circle.

Yang Yi saw nothing, but a sudden sense of suffocation and a sharp pain let him know his neck was being strangled.

Bass, with a ferocious face, pulled his hands apart powerfully while Yang Yi, pressed against Bass’ body, stabbed repeatedly into Bass’ ribs.

Blood quickly oozed from Yang Yi’s neck. It was then that Charles didn’t shoot at Bass’ head to rescue Yang Yi but drew his knife and hacked down at Bass’ wrist.

With one knife, Bass’ hand was severed, blood spurting from the cut wrist and splattering over Yang Yi’s face.

But Bass roared and continued to pull fiercely with his left hand. Yang Yi could only feel the fine wire wrapped around his neck swiftly siphoning his life away.

Before Bass could use his remaining hand to sever Yang Yi’s throat and jugular, Charles wielded his knife again, and Bass’ left hand fell to the ground as well.

Bass had several bloody holes stabbed through his side ribs, his left ribs almost entirely broken, and now with both hands chopped off, Bass finally collapsed backward.

A nearly invisible thread was wrapped around Yang Yi’s neck, and Bass’ severed hands were still on that thread, dangling in front of Yang Yi’s chest.

There was nothing like exchanging dozens of moves. Yang Yi and Bass exchanged knife blows, the entire process lasting less than two seconds.

Nor was there any one-on-one fight. Charles found an opportunity to intervene from the side; there was no need to give Bass a chance for a fair duel with Yang Yi.

Yang Yi grasped the knife Bass had plunged into his abdomen and yanked it out.

The blade had only pierced shallowly into his abdomen, but it was still lodged in Yang Yi’s stomach, and the moment he pulled the knife out, blood immediately bubbled up from his belly.

Yang Yi held two knives in his hands and just gasped for breath. The sense of suffocation from moments before was brief, yet he had walked the line between life and death. He was certain that the silk thread hanging around his neck would not be the cause of his suffocation because his throat would be slit open long before he could succumb to asphyxiation.

But Yang Yi couldn’t help but draw ragged, heavy breaths.

Yang Yi hadn’t expected Bass to still have a desperate counterattack in his dire situation.

Charles glanced at Yang Yi, then he continued to run forward.

Then came Paul, followed by Brian, and then Zhang Yong.

No one gave Yang Yi a second look, except for Mike who turned his head as he passed by Yang Yi.

No one cared about the cut on Yang Yi’s neck, no one cared about the wound on his belly, nor did anyone care about the injuries on his arms.

No one cared about Yang Yi because being injured was nothing at that point.

Even Yang Yi himself didn’t care about his injuries; he hadn’t even realized he was hurt. As long as he could still move, he had to keep moving.

But there was someone who did care about Yang Yi, and that was Kate.

Upon seeing Yang Yi’s state, Kate, who was holding a gun and following Mike, was horrified. She abruptly stopped and pressed down on Yang Yi.

"You..."

Yang Yi couldn’t afford to attend to Kate, his foot stomped down on Bass who lay on the ground.

Yang Yi pinned down one of Bass’s legs and then squatted down, stabbing twice into Bass’s leg with lightning speed.

Both of Bass’s hands were broken, still hanging from Yang Yi’s neck, and now Yang Yi had just severed the tendons in Bass’s legs with two strikes.

This rendered Bass completely immobile.

If it weren’t for wanting to keep Bass alive, Yang Yi would have joined Brian and the others in pursuit, because someone had fled down the corridor. However, Yang Yi wanted to clear up some matters, so he had to stay and keep an eye on Bass.

"Bass..."

Yang Yi started speaking and was startled by his own voice. It was hoarse and difficult to hear, akin to the caterwauling of a wild cat during mating season, unpleasant and grating.

Kate hesitated for a moment, then she widened her eyes and said to the wretched Bass, "So it’s you, Bass!"

Bass bared his teeth as blood seeped from his mouth. He glanced at Kate, then looked at Yang Yi and suddenly said, "Who are you people..."

Yang Yi stood up and said in a low voice, "Three years, and today you’re finally going to die, die at... our hands."

Bass hesitated, then his eyes widened with disbelief, "The singer?"

"Yes, the singer!" Kate said in a stern voice.

Bass was taken aback again, then with a weak voice he said, "You’re that woman who stayed in the hotel for three years. You actually dared to come after me..., and even found this place..."

Yang Yi and Kate remained silent while Bass said with a look of bewilderment, "You can actually kill me here. What’s ridiculous is that I had long since given up on killing you, and yet you actually came to kill me. This is truly... ridiculous!"
