Red Flash wouldn’t let me hack, and I was insistent on doing it. He was an expert, and I ultimately failed, not because he was better than me, but because my computer was too old!"

With an expression of deep regret, Schultz said, "I was using a laptop from 2009, while Red Flash had a supercomputer, and he also had a whole team, so I lost and Red Flash even got a trace on me. But in the end, nothing happened; we actually had a nice chat."

"You had a nice chat?"

"Yes, the friendship between hackers."

"What about White Roar then?"

"Oh, him? White Roar is an old friend of mine. I met him on a hacker forum when I was twelve, and we got along really well. I even learned quite a bit from him. After my arrest, I told White Roar and Red Flash about what had happened to me and warned them to be careful. Red Flash said he would help me, and just last night I thought maybe you guys were sent by Red Flash to rescue me."

Yang Yi said, "So, you mean to say you don’t know Red Flash’s real identity?"

"I don’t."

Yang Yi laughed and said, "We came to you precisely because of Red Flash; he’s the one who directed me to find you. So, you’re not wrong to say he helped you, although the way he did it definitely isn’t what you expected."

Brian said gravely, "Now, show us what you’ve got."

Schultz said confidently, "Give me a computer, and tell me what you want to see. How about I break through the White House’s firewall right now for you to see?"

Brian shook his head and said, "No need for that. Let’s keep it simple, hack into Germany’s telecommunications system, the kind that can control phone calls."

Schultz laughed and said, "That’s even more difficult than hacking into the White House official website because the communication control system of Germany’s telecom is physically isolated from their official web portal."

Brian frowned and asked, "Is it that hard? Can you do it?"

Schultz shrugged and laughed, "Piece of cake. I just need a computer, though it requires some modification, and a phone with a German telecom SIM card. Although the communication control system and website are physically separated, the phone company still has to deal with that stuff, right? We just need to make a call, and hack in when the mobile passes through the signal exchange; I’ve researched and tested it, no problem. The only thing needed is a remote control system based on the PLMN network. Once I take over the telecom’s signal switch control, I’ll hijack their entire control system."

Yang Yi and the others exchanged glances; although they didn’t understand a word Schultz said, they got the impression he was very capable. Should be no problem, right?

Yang Yi said, "How do we find this remote phone control system?"

Schultz replied, "You buy it, for less than a thousand Euros. You know about fake base stations?"

As soon as fake base stations were mentioned, Yang Yi immediately said, "Fake base stations, huh? Why didn’t you start with that? I know this; I understand!"

Schultz shrugged and said, "Get a fake base station, a computer, and a phone. Give me these now, and I’ll get you control over the calls in Germany’s telecom, of course, within a certain area."

Yang Yi said excitedly, "What about the phone companies in the United Kingdom, like Vodafone’s telephony?"

Schultz looked baffled and said, "Of course, that’s no problem. It’s just as easy."
