Chapter 287: Chapter 286: Gaining Followers and Hearts
Ismail really had hoped Schultz would leave soon, but as he watched Schultz seemingly on the verge of success, he couldn’t bear to let him go just like that.
However, any anticipated profits paled in comparison to the immediate threat before him; whether Schultz would make big money in the future was put aside, as Paul’s readiness to draw his gun had truly frightened Ismail.
Paul slowly put away his gun, and Ismail hastily backed away two steps.
Brian looked at Schultz again and then smiled, "Mr. Steinmeier, do you have any luggage to pack?"
Schultz nodded, "Yes, please wait a moment, I will come down soon."
Turning around, he clattered upstairs, while Lothar, still looking baffled, said, "This is impossible."
"There’s nothing impossible."
Brian spoke up, looking at Lothar and slowly said, "Mr. Schultz Steinmeyer is different from you; he is a precious asset of Germany, the hope of this nation, while you, and your brother, are trash now, and will be trash in the future, you’ll always be simple-minded fools with brawn but no brains!"
After mercilessly mocking Lothar, Brian said with a mocking face, "So you will never understand how significant Schultz’s achievements will be, because you simply don’t qualify, even if I explained it you wouldn’t understand. From this moment on, you are people from two different worlds."
With a backpack in hand, Schultz stood on the staircase, listening to Brian’s words, unable to fully conceal the smile on his face.
Brian then turned to Ismail and slowly said, "As a German, seeing you treat Germany’s most valuable talent like this angers me, especially since you insult our country’s representative in front of one of the world’s most outstanding individuals, which makes me even angrier. You should be glad they don’t understand German, otherwise, I wouldn’t just be mocking and humiliating you, I’d throw you into prison."
Pointing at Ismail, Brian shifted his gaze to the staircase and smiled, "Can we leave now? The Chancellor is still waiting for you, Mr. Steinmeier."
Schultz cheerfully said, "I’m ready, let’s go now."
Ismail hesitated for a moment, and then carefully said to Brian, "But can he just leave like that? The police will come looking for him. He has betrayed community service and social supervision, and he also has an electronic tag..."
Schultz lifted his right arm, showing something that looked like a bracelet, and said, "Yeah, what about my electronic tag? If I tamper with it, I’ll have to go to prison."
After saying that, Schultz also gave Lothar a fierce look.
Brian smiled and said, "That’s, of course, no problem."
Schultz looked at Lothar with an air of superiority and loudly said, "Goodbye, Lothar, goodbye, Zelda, goodbye, Mr. Turan."
Ismail was infuriated by Schultz’s attitude. He took a deep breath and then said in a deep voice, "But what should I say if the police ask?"
Brian calmly said, "This matter is of the highest secrecy, and I hope you won’t disclose anything that happened today. If the police do ask, it’s simple: just say you know nothing. Say that Schultz left, got lost, disappeared, whatever you wish. I don’t want to spend time communicating with the police."
Lothar said angrily, "Shouldn’t it be you guys communicating with the police? Now that he’s gone... at least reconnect our internet! Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I’ll say to the cops who come knocking. I..."
A gunshot rang out, startling everyone.
Paul slowly holstered his gun, while Lothar stood there agape, trembling, because the bullet had just whizzed past his head and shattered a wall clock.
Paul spoke slowly, "You don’t know what ’top secret’ means, do you? Let me tell you, another meaning of top secret is that only dead people can’t talk. Whatever our boss says, you do, without him having to waste time making a call to the police station. But I don’t mind wasting time to wipe out your whole family, because I really find you irritating!"
Brian smiled apologetically at Schultz and said, "Sorry, please."
Schultz shrugged and replied, "Although it’s very unpleasant in this house, I still don’t hope for them to get into trouble."
Paul put his gun away again and said, "If they’re sensible, they won’t get into any trouble."
Brian smiled and said, "My subordinate has a bit of a temper, sorry. Can we go now?"
Ismail struggled to say, "We won’t blab, absolutely not!"
Schultz shrugged and said, "Let’s go."
Xiao Ran stepped forward, took the cardboard box from Schultz’s hand, and Yang Yi gestured towards the door, saying, "Please."
Schultz led the way out, and as soon as he exited, Zhang Yong immediately opened the car door and bowed to invite Schultz into the car.
Yang Yi and the others didn’t so much as glance at Ismail as they swaggered out.
Brian and Schultz got into the same car, Yang Yi and Xiao Ran followed in the car behind, and Paul took the topmost vehicle alone; they couldn’t manage a grand procession due to lack of people.
Watching Schultz ride off in a luxury car, Lothar said with a face full of grief and anger, "That little bastard..."
Suddenly, Ismail yelled, "Shut up! Do you want to die? Tell me, do you want to die? Look at those damned bastards—they would really shoot. Forget him, as if he never showed up in our house, just like that!"
In the envious and resentful glances of Ismail’s family, the driver Xiao Ran complained, "This is so fake! It feels like idiots putting on a play for other idiots to watch, and this act is just too fake, the script is so bad it’s not even second-rate! It’s so fake I’m getting secondhand embarrassment."
Yang Yi took a deep breath and laughed, "The guy who taught me how to deceive people once said to me, ’Treat the ones you’re fooling as idiots, and that’ll do the trick.’ Besides, whether our act is true or false doesn’t matter. What’s important is that Schultz is happy."
Looking at the car ahead, Yang Yi couldn’t help laughing, "Forcing Schultz to do something for us once is easy, but making him work for us consistently is hard. Now, after putting on this play, believe it or not, Schultz won’t be able to get rid of us? To recruit someone, you’ve got to win their heart, learn from this."
Meanwhile, Schultz, who had been looking back all the while until Ismail’s house was out of sight, let out a triumphant yell inside the car and then shouted, "That was awesome! I’ve never felt so good in my life! Really, that was amazing! What are we going to do now? Whatever it is, I’m with you guys!"
