Chapter 1164: Chapter 1169 Conditions
Danny’s face remained grim, and when his brothers were brought out of their cells, not one of them uttered a word.
Silence, at times, exudes more anger.
James’ expression grew serious as well. He exchanged a couple of words with Gary Keene, who then approached Yang Yi and said quietly, "We need a brief talk."
Yang Yi moved aside. Gary hesitated for a moment before speaking in a low voice, "Your friends are not ordinary gang members. They seem to be brewing a large-scale revenge."
Yang Yi replied softly, "We lost two people. Do you think we’re just going to let it go like that?"
Gary said urgently, "This wasn’t part of our agreement. This is London, not the Middle East. It’s not a place where thugs can rampage as they please. If your people seek revenge recklessly, it’ll be challenging for all of us to manage."
Yang Yi nodded and said, "I understand your point, but doing nothing at all is not an option. At most, we’ll choose a way that everyone can accept."
Gary Keene was still hesitating when James spoke to Yang Yi, "Let’s get out of here first and discuss this outside."
Clearly, it was at James’ instruction that Gary Keene spoke to Yang Yi, yet now James appeared to be the one least concerned.
The group left Scotland Yard. When they saw Danny, Xiao Feng became extremely agitated but remained in the car and didn’t get out.
Yang Yi said to Danny and his group in a low voice, "Captain, I need to talk with them further. Take everyone back first and don’t act rashly. Let’s decide after I get back, okay?"
Danny smiled and patted Yang Yi’s shoulder, saying, "I’m not that impulsive. We’ll talk once you’re back."
"Jiang Ge has probably been taken to the hospital. We’re far from being at ease right now. Captain, stay alert."
Danny laughed heartily and said, "Alright, don’t need you to remind me. See you later."
With one car insufficient, Danny’s group called another taxi and left directly. Watching them depart, Yang Yi returned to the car where Gary Keene and James were waiting.
"Today’s outcome was smooth. Thanks for that."
James, seated in the car, gestured, "If you don’t mind, let’s talk in the car."
Yang Yi climbed into the car and sat in the back seat with James.
After a moment of silence, James spoke gravely, "Your people want revenge."
"Yes, but they’re not my people—just my friends. I need to clarify that. Please don’t misunderstand."
"Alright, your friends. But your friends aren’t ordinary people, nor are they gangsters. If they seek revenge, it’ll trouble plenty of people. I was the one who got them out; if they go too far, I won’t be able to account for it. I need you to understand this."
Yang Yi said quietly, "I completely understand your position, but everything has its right price for negotiation. My request now is simple: don’t interfere with my friends’ upcoming revenge and let them enjoy their lives peacefully, as before. Can this be arranged?"
James agreed without hesitation, "Yes, but give me what I want. I need every detail of the intelligence you’re offering."
"Deal."
Yang Yi extended his hand, but James didn’t reciprocate, continuing, "I have conditions."
Yang Yi withdrew his hand.
James, his face serious, said, "Revenge is fine, but don’t go overboard. It’s not absolutely prohibited to use guns, but I demand there be no public incidents whatsoever. Above all, don’t make any big headlines during the revenge. The retaliation must be carried out quietly. Is that clear?"
After he finished, James added calmly, "With your capabilities, it’s entirely feasible for the Russian Gang to all die from ’accidents.’ I can accept them dying from accidents—car crashes, drowning, or drug overdoses—but absolutely no large-scale gunfights, and no street executions."
Yang Yi considered for a moment and replied, "That’s your condition?"
"It’s the most critical one."
"No problem. We can do that."
James exhaled and said, "I trust you’ll stick to your word."
"I’m definitely someone who keeps my promises. Hmm, sudden deaths from heart attacks or strokes are fine, right?"
"Of course. Even if you arranged for every member of the Russian Gang to die of heart attacks, I wouldn’t object. I’ll handle Scotland Yard, but you must make sure they don’t make the news. Let me be clear: no matter who it is, if they create news, then I’ll arrest someone!"
Yang Yi chuckled and said, "No problem—natural causes, no news coverage."
"I’m not talking about suppressing news. I mean there can’t be any news at all."
"Understood. Rest assured, I won’t make things difficult for you."
James let out a relieved sigh and said, "Alright. When are you planning to act?"
"Now. This kind of grudge can’t wait overnight."
James fell silent briefly, then said grimly, "When will you give me the intelligence?"
"Now. I’ll send all the detailed information to Gary."
At this point, there was nothing left to discuss. It had always been a transaction of interests. To swiftly deal with a spy concealed in the heart of the United Kingdom, making the Russian Gang pay a price was, of course, an easy decision.
Having asked where Danny and his group were headed, Yang Yi hailed a taxi and rushed there as quickly as possible.
The Organization of Water members were stationed outside. Though out of sight, they were there, guarding the Dark Night Knight’s people.
Yang Yi knocked on the door and stepped inside. Danny and his group were seated in a circle, eating.
They couldn’t be described as ravenous, but their table manners were hardly elegant.
"Sit down and eat. Ah Ming, grab some utensils."
Gesturing for Yang Yi to join them, Danny placed a set of utensils in front of Yang Yi. Picking up a piece of cabbage heart, Danny put it in Yang Yi’s bowl and said, "Flown-in cabbage heart—enjoy."
Yang Yi picked it up and smiled, "Not meat, just veggies for me, huh?"
"Having veggies is good enough! After days cooped up, we’ve been craving greens."
Yang Yi ate the cabbage heart. Danny scarfed down a few bites of rice, then said to Yang Yi, "We owe it all to you this time. For now, let’s skip the fancy restaurant—don’t want to bother the owner. Once this is settled, I’ll treat you to dim sum and make rice noodle rolls myself."
"Thanks in advance, Captain."
Danny smiled, picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth, then breathed out and said, "What did you agree with them?"
Yang Yi replied flatly, "No gunfights, no making the news. If we can keep to those two points, then the Russian Gang doesn’t need to have any survivors."
