Chapter 1060 - 1065: Creating Rules

Chapter 1060: Chapter 1065: Creating Rules

Yang Yi put on a vest, not a bulletproof one, but a soft vest only resistant to knife stabs, because even a vest that could only stop pistol bullets would be too thick and noticeable.

He placed the small knife close to his body and handed the pistol to Anton. While arranging his clothes, Yang Yi asked, "Should I go to Petra’s place or Bonnie’s tonight? Or should I see Bonnie first, then go to Petra?"

"Petra is the mission, leave Bonnie for later, she’s not going anywhere."

"Alright, I’ll see Bonnie tomorrow. I need to talk to her about this. It’s time for the janitor to make a move."

Yang Yi looked towards Anton with a helpless smile and said, "I’m counting on you to watch my back. Please don’t let me get shot from behind."

"I’ll do my best."

Yang Yi sighed deeply, opened the door, and quickly walked out.

Anton had to keep a distance from Yang Yi, not too close but not too far either. Both he and Yang Yi weren’t entirely sure if they could flush out the hidden assailant, but Anton needed to ensure that Yang Yi wasn’t attacked from behind, and that responsibility rested entirely on Anton’s shoulders.

"Hey, darling, I’ve just arrived in New York and am heading your way now. Are you at home?"

Petra sounded overjoyed and replied hastily, "You’re back? Have you eaten yet? I’ve already reserved a table at a very nice Italian restaurant near our place."

Yang Yi hung up the phone and hurried to Petra’s place by taxi.

Petra and Yang Yi were certainly in their honeymoon phase, but she wasn’t ready to move in with him yet. She was caught in a fierce internal struggle, but all her conflicts were cast aside when Yang Yi knocked on her door.

After hugging him tightly, Petra looked into Yang Yi’s eyes and said, "Don’t stay in a hotel, stay here with me, okay?"

"Um, okay."

"Do you want to rest for a while?"

"No, let’s go out to eat first. We can rest after dinner."

"Alright, the restaurant has reserved parking. We can drive there. Oh dear, you haven’t bought a car in New York yet, right? You can drive whichever one you like."

Looking at the pile of car keys in the storage compartment, Yang Yi sighed and said, "Uh, I’d better get my own."

"Don’t you like driving my car? How about I get you one? What car do you like?"

While talking to Yang Yi, Petra refused to let go of his hand.

"Um, let’s not buy one yet. I’m not sure how long I’ll be here in New York."

"Are you leaving for a long time?"

Seeing Petra’s alarmed expression, Yang Yi smiled and said, "No, let’s just drive any car for now. Let’s go eat."

Driving to the restaurant took ten minutes. Petra was a regular there; she had reserved a table by the window, in the lobby, yet isolated from other tables.

The waiter handed the menu to Petra, who didn’t even open it but sweetly looked at Yang Yi and asked, "Dear, what would you like to eat?"

"Since you come here often, I want to try what you like, the same."

Petra smiled even sweeter and told the waiter, "Two of what I like, plus a wild mushroom risotto and add a bottle of red wine."

Throughout, Petra’s gaze remained fixed on Yang Yi, while he, in between tender appearances of mutual gaze with Petra, had to scan the restaurant’s layout.

The restaurant was nice, with a pleasant atmosphere. It remained to be seen how the food tasted; if it was also good, Yang Yi planned to dine here for the coming days.

The reason was simple. Yang Yi intended to quickly establish a routine of dining at the same restaurant, at the same spot, not for anything else, but to create an opportunity for the assassin to make a move.

People with regular routines are easier to observe, and for assassins, that presents an opportunity. Therefore, a spy will not easily display their habits or hobbies in front of others. If they do, it means they have an ulterior motive.

Petra, of course, wouldn’t know these things.

The wine was served, and once Yang Yi selected the wine, his dinner with Petra officially began.

What’s wonderful is that the restaurant’s food actually tastes quite good, and Italian cuisine isn’t just pizza and pasta. In fact, Italian dishes can be quite complex, so if Yang Yi plans to eat at this restaurant regularly, he won’t have to have the same dishes every time.

Yang Yi raised his glass to Petra and said with a smile, "It’s delicious. I plan to eat here until I’ve tried every dish."

"I’m glad you like it."

Petra clinked glasses with Yang Yi and then smiled, "But I know a lot of other good restaurants."

"We’ll take it slow, try them one by one."

Putting down his wine glass, Yang Yi laughed, "Sorry, I’m starving, so I need to eat quickly."

As Yang Yi bowed his head and ate intently, Anton whispered in his earpiece, "No anomalies, no one is paying attention to you."

Nothing should be rushed, especially when dealing with an assassin.

Yang Yi and Petra chatted and laughed continuously; he appeared utterly relaxed, without a hint of guard.

But in reality, knowing that someone is always ready to take his life, how could Yang Yi completely relax even during a meal?

Dinner peacefully concluded, and Yang Yi and Petra returned to her residence.

Now Yang Yi just wanted to rest well for the night, but after Petra tenderly helped him take off his coat, she said with a shy look, "I’m going to take a shower."

"Okay."

"I bought you pajamas, underwear, shirts, and a few coats."

"Oh, thanks."

"No need to be polite, um, I’m going to shower now."

Petra went into the bathroom, and Yang Yi couldn’t help but cover his eyes with his hand.

Seems like resting directly might be unlikely.

Yang Yi secretly took out his earpiece and turned it off. Although he needed to keep in touch with Anton, he didn’t want Anton to hear everything.

Just as Yang Yi turned off his earpiece, Petra came out in a bathrobe and whispered to Yang Yi, "Do you want to join me?"

It was evident that Petra had mustered up courage. What could Yang Yi say? He stood up and laughed, "Sure."

Want to or not? Want!

Tired or not? Tired.

Really tired.

There are only dead cows, no spoiled fields. It’s just that Yang Yi has good stamina, so his performance in front of Petra could only get better.

After a bout of activity, Yang Yi put on the pajamas Petra prepared for him, and they lay together on the same big bed, under the same large quilt.

Worried about the assassin hiding somewhere, also needing to keep Petra happy by his side, not forgetting about Bonnie, and occasionally remembering Kate and Xiao Ran far away in Europe, missing them, yet afraid to meet them.

Suddenly, Yang Yi felt so tired, truly
