Chapter 283: Help Him Suck Out the Poison

Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Help Him Suck Out the Poison

An Yan felt that this man was absolutely cursed.

She had been through thousands of ancient tombs, and aside from initial issues, the path had always been smooth.

Falling into this tomb with Mu Leng today was just pure bad luck, constantly triggering traps.

An Yan picked up the flashlight and stood up, looking around. It was a sealed rectangular chamber with nothing inside.

Such emptiness had only one purpose: to trap tomb raiders to death. An Yan could think of no other.

The less dangerous it seemed, the more danger there actually was.

Hearing the man’s shouts from above, An Yan replied impatiently, "I’m fine!"

"Then move aside, I’m jumping down."

Just as An Yan was about to say there was no need, she heard the man land.

An Yan: "..."

At that moment, Everlasting Lamps lit up in the four corners, illuminating the entire tomb.

Bo Leng steadied her by the shoulders and sized her up, "Are you alright?"

An Yan saw his genuine concern, brushing his hands off, "I’m fine."

"Because the inner tomb is narrower, not as spacious as where you just fell, I wasn’t sure if I would land on you by jumping down."

An Yan realized he was explaining why he didn’t jump down immediately this time.

She thought that if he hadn’t annoyed her and triggered the mechanism, how could she have fallen down?

If the archaeology community ever found out about this, she would be hugely embarrassed.

But now was not the time to blame him. What needed to be done was to get out of here fast; she had already sensed the dangers in this inner tomb.

"This place is very unsafe. We can’t rule out the possibilities of shifting walls, arrows, poison gas, or snakes. We have to get out quickly."

As soon as she finished speaking, a brick fell from the opposite wall.

Bo Leng immediately pulled out a dagger from his pocket, while An Yan took out a military saber from her backpack.

Mu Leng clicked his tongue lightly, his dagger looking somewhat inadequate compared to the military saber.

An Yan chuckled, "Feeling a bit short?"

"Short but sturdy, just as effective."

An Yan pursed her lips, how could that remark sound so suggestive?

Bo Leng smiled, "I didn’t mean anything by it."

An Yan glared at him, "I didn’t think anything of it either."

"What were you thinking then?"

An Yan, angered, pressed her saber against the man’s neck, "Another word and I’ll turn Bo Leng into cold neck!"

Bo Leng raised an eyebrow slightly, "Let’s present a united front for now."

An Yan followed his gaze. Black cobras entered through the hole, straightening their bodies and hissing red tongues, ready to strike like taut bows.

Bo Leng asked, "Do you have a rope and hook?"

"Yes."

"You go up first, I’ll cover our retreat."

An Yan looked at his profile, sensing his sidelong glance and saw a mischievous smile form, "My life isn’t short, I’m hanging tough."

An Yan couldn’t stand to hear him speak any longer; every word was a rainbow, so colorful.

Suddenly, a snake lunged with its mouth wide open, showing its sharp greenish-white fangs dripping with venom, and pounced.

Bo Leng’s face darkened as he rushed forward.

An Yan watched him slaying snake after snake, but they kept coming endlessly through the hole. There must be a nest behind that wall.

So, slaying was not the goal. They had to stop it at the source.

An Yan couldn’t just run off. Although there was no need to stand on ceremony with a tomb raider, this despicable man had also jumped down because of her.

As she killed the venomous snakes, she rushed to the small hole and stuffed the brick she had found among the severed snake bodies back into it.

Since the bricks were already loose, they had to find something to secure them.

After Bo Leng killed the last black snake, he ran over, jamming his dagger into the crevice to stabilize it.

"Being short has its advantages, the military saber couldn’t manage that."

An Yan: "..." Made sense, but she felt like punching him.

The two stood up; Bo Leng asked, "You didn’t get bitten, did you?"

An Yan responded, "No. Let’s hurry up and go, or who knows what other dangers we might encounter."

Bo Leng nodded.

They walked toward the hole they had fallen through.

Suddenly, a half snake leapt out, heading straight for An Yan.

Bo Leng stepped up in a flash, blocking it in front of An Yan. The snake bit into his chest.

He grabbed the snake’s head with his bare hands and violently flung it away. The half snake hit the wall, fell to the ground, and after a few twitches, lay still.

An Yan, seeing the situation, directly lifted his black T-shirt, revealing two bloody fang marks at the red plum location.

This snake is quite lascivious!

It specifically chose that spot to bite!

"If you hadn’t blocked it just now, I would have stabbed it with the military saber."

Bo Leng: "...so you’re telling me I pulled down my pants for nothing again?"

An Yan felt somewhat helpless, irritably responded, "Why do you fart so much?"

"..."

An Yan stabbed at a few more snakes to avoid getting bitten again.

She took a rope and iron hook from her backpack, quickly set it up, and threw the hook upwards.

She gave it a strong tug, and after it was stable, she looked at Bo Leng, "You go up first."

Bo Leng shook his head, "You first."

"Hurry up, it’s a venomous snake, you need immediate treatment."

"Are you concerned about me?"

An Yan’s mouth twitched, "Then I’ll go up first."

After she climbed up using the rope and looked down, Bo Leng was already sitting on the ground.

An Yan thought to herself that the normal onset time for the poison is at least half an hour, but his was just ten minutes.

However, as it was a matter of life and death, she couldn’t delay and immediately jumped down, dragging him to a wall, "How are you feeling now?"

Bo Leng with eyes closed, "I feel dizzy, palpitations, and very cold."

An Yan pushed up his T-shirt, looked at the fang marks on it, then at the man’s tightly closed eyes.

It didn’t seem fake; the poison had set in, possibly faster than usual.

She told herself that she was a doctor now, and it was her duty to save lives and heal the wounded.

Bracing herself, she took a deep breath and went for it.

The location was awkward; besides Fu Shiyan, the only other man’s she had encountered this way was this scoundrel.

An Yan sucked out the venom and spat it aside, repeatedly, until the blood, originally turning black, gradually became bright red.

She looked at the man, patting his face, "Bo Leng? Do you feel any better?"

The man didn’t respond. An Yan checked his heartbeat, thankfully not too slow, but he needed an antivenom injection, otherwise, even if he didn’t die, there could be lasting effects.

Those Tomb Robbers must have come prepared, probably carrying antivenom with them.

She needed to go up and get the antivenom.

She glanced at Bo Leng, then climbed up the rope.

Bo Leng slowly opened his eyes, glanced at the spot on his chest, and slightly curved his lips.

The feeling was strangely thrilling, as if his crown was numb with pleasure.

He looked at his lower brother; thankfully, Mu Anyan hadn’t seen, otherwise she’d definitely cripple it.

Did the woman just abandon him and leave?

Tsk, quite heartless indeed.

He took out a transparent small bag from his trouser pocket containing a syringe and a few small vials.

He opened it, drew the liquid from the vials with the syringe, and then injected himself.

According to Lin Zi’s examination, they had already identified the type of venomous snake, so they had prepared different types of antivenom.

He put the syringe and vials back in his trouser pocket.

After a short pause, he got up and climbed up the rope.

However, he didn’t notice a small vial had fallen out of his pocket.

Bo Leng didn’t return the same way but staggered towards a northern cave opening instead.

An Yan went back to the original hole she had fallen through; the Tomb Robbers were long gone, Fu Jinqiao, Professor He, the archaeological team, and the officers were there.

Fu Jinqiao came up with tears, "Younger Auntie, you almost scared me to death!"

Professor He and the archaeologists were also thrilled to see An Yan.

An Yan, not in the mood for pleasantries, immediately inquired about the whereabouts of the Tomb Robbers.

Professor He said they fled when they saw the officers coming.

An Yan asked if they had cobra antivenom, and one of the archaeologists said yes, quickly handed her the syringe and antivenom.

Thinking that An Yan had been bitten, they saw her jump back into the tomb.

When she returned to the tomb, she found Bo Leng was gone, but there was a small vial on the ground.

An Yan narrowed her eyes, the vial surely contained antivenom.

So he had antivenom but pretended to wait for her to suck out the venom?

Recalling the recent scene where she sucked out his venom, her clenched fist trembled, "Bo Leng, you scoundrel!"
