Chapter 86: My Dear

Mo Chou hurriedly packed up the things required for her ’transformation’. She just remembered that she couldn’t possibly walk out of her room dressed up as an unfamiliar man.

The workers in the house and the butler would definitely notice a strange guy walking around freely; hence, Mo Chou decided that she would just get ready at Reaper’s house. ’He probably had to pick some things up before the meeting took place anyways’.

With that thought, Mo Chou walked out of the room along with her bag. Reaper was waiting for her in the living room and just nodded his head in tactic understanding when he saw her bag.

They got into Reaper’s car and arrived at his house. Mo Chou didn’t have much time to explore, as she still had to put on her disguise, which would take quite some time. Reaper took Mo Chou to the guest room so she could get ready.

Reaper didn’t have any staff working for him due to the nature of his work, so the room was a little dusty. He had a sheepish expression on his face as he said, "Don’t mind the dirty room. With everything that happened recently, I didn’t have any time to clean the house.".

Mo Chou replied, "Hey, that’s okay. I don’t mind this little bit of dust. You should go prepare your documents and all. I don’t want us to be late to the meeting, especially after everything you said about the masked guy.".

"You are the one who should hurry up," Reaper said to Mo Chou in a cheeky tone while closing the door so she could have her privacy.

Mo Chou was a little stunned to see Reaper being playful. ’I never knew Big Brother could be so playful’.

She let out a laugh and started getting ready.

Since Reaper was being extra playful today, she decided to give him a surprise. Mo Chou took out a wig and did her ’evil laugh’. "Let the grand transformation begin.".

Reaper looked at the clock once again. If they didn’t head out in ten minutes, they would be late to the meeting. Although he didn’t want to disturb Mo Chou, he decided to knock on her door to remind her of the time.

Just as he was about to knock on the door, the door opened from the inside.

"I was...." Reaper immediately stopped his sentence upon seeing Mo Chou’s disguise. His mouth was open so wide that it could even fit an egg inside it.

"Yes, big brother?" Mo Chou looked at Reaper with an innocent expression. "Is my disguise not up to par? I did tell you that even you would not be able to recognize me once I’m done, right?"

Reaper shuddered upon hearing her call him Big Brother with the disguise on. "Ahem, fine. And you were right; even our mom wouldn’t be able to recognize you now.".

Reaper acted nonchalant; he would let his little one do anything as long as it didn’t harm her, but he did wonder what kind of reactions the people attending the meeting would have once they saw his ’bodyguard’.

The meeting was arranged to take place in a private restaurant. The restaurant actually belonged to Lu Jinhai, and he had decided on the meeting location so that they could get full privacy.

Lu Jinhai had already arrived at the restaurant half an hour ahead of time. He hadn’t had the time to have lunch that day, and the food in the restaurant was to his liking, so he had arrived a little early.

The restaurant was basically empty aside from the head chef and a cleaner due to Lu Jinhai’s orders, so he had just been finishing up some of his pending work when Reaper arrived.

Huo Zhai was waiting for them outside the restaurant door.

"They have arrived, boss." Lu Jinhai heard Huo Zhai’s voice through his earpiece. He noticed that he sounded a little unusual, so Lu Jinhai questioned, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I guess. You should just see for yourself, boss," answered Huo Zhai.

Lu Jinhai was a little confused but decided to just see for himself. Huo Zhai wouldn’t let him be harmed anyway.

After a minute, Reaper finally walked into the room. Lu Jinhai was about to greet him when he saw the person who had entered after him.

Huo Zhai, who had walked in after Mo Chou, was wondering what kind of face his boss was making right now.

He wanted to go and take his boss’s mask off, but he valued his life too much.

Reaper looked a little embarrassed but quickly fixed his expression, as it was a business meeting after all.

"Ahem, I hope you haven’t been waiting for too long, Mr. Evan.".

’Evan’ was the name that Lu Jinhai used for his second identity. As he wore contact lenses and a mask, many people thought that he was not a native. There were several assumptions about his origins, but they only served to hide Lu Jinhai’s true identity.

"It’s alright, please take a seat," replied Lu Jinhai. Mo Chou was a little disappointed that no one really seemed to have much of a reaction after seeing her disguise. In fact, the only one who had seemed surprised was Evan’s bodyguard. Evan himself had zero reaction. He just glanced at her once when she entered the room, and that was all. But she did notice one thing, which was that ’Evan’ was actually wearing contact lenses.

As Mo Chou was used to wearing various contact lenses herself for her disguises, she quickly noticed it. She didn’t really think much about it, though. Due to their lifestyle, people in their line of work tend to hide their true identity more often than not.

For some reason, Mo Chou couldn’t take her eyes off of Evan.

’Evan’ or Lu Jinhai did look unfazed, but only he knew that his heart was in turmoil. He really didn’t know how to feel about this new ’form’ of Mo Chou’s.

He knew that she was really adept at transforming herself into different forms. He had even seen her disguised as a man, but out of them all, this one really took the cake. He was actually surprised that he could tell that it was Mo Chou but he trusted his instincts.

Lu Jinhai’s mind was filled with questions. Especially regarding the relationship between his business partner and Mo Chou. He had investigated Reaper before their business collaboration, and he hadn’t found anything out of the blue.

’Maybe I should investigate him again. Huo Zhai probably didn’t do any in-depth investigation. It seems like he doesn’t have enough work, so I should add to his workload’.

Poor Huo Zhai suddenly felt a chill down his spine. He looked around the room but didn’t find anything unusual.

Finally, the meeting started. As Reaper’s side was the one at fault, he wanted to compensate Evan. He didn’t want the partnership to end either, as it was highly beneficial for both parties, but for some reason, ’Evan’ was being a little ’difficult’.

Reaper frowned and wondered about what had possibly happened, as Evan had been quite easy to talk to when they had meetings recently. Even when dealing with the traitor, he had been quite easygoing, albeit a little cold.

Mo Chou almost let out a yawn. She was getting bored just standing there doing nothing. She had thought that it would at least be a little interesting, but the business meeting was really uneventful. The only problem was that, for some reason, the masked guy ’Evan’ was dragging it out longer than needed.

She looked at Reaper and saw that he was getting irritated because of the back and forth that had been going on, so she handed him a cup of water and said, "You seem thirsty. Have a sip, my dear."

Huo Zhai "..?"
