Chapter 71: Rich rich

"What why?" questioned Mo Chou. She looked out of the window properly and saw that there were no houses anywhere nearby at all. Trees surrounded both sides of the road they were driving on.

"The address shouldn’t be incorrect, just follow the directions properly and if we still can’t find the house, I’ll give my friend a call" Mo Chou decided.

"Yes miss" the driver had no other choice than to look at the directions one more time, he was sure he hadn’t made any wrong turns but he hadn’t seen any houses for five minutes now, only trees. ’Did someone try to prank our young miss? Hopefully not’.

After a few minutes of driving, finally they saw a big gate. As the location matched, Mo Chou told the driver to go forward.

There were two security guards on each side of the gate, Mo Chou rolled the window down to tell them that Lu Jinhai had invited her but it seemed like there was no need to, the guards opened the gate and signaled them to go right ahead.

The car entered the driveway and Mo Chou started looking around. She was a little surprised, she hadn’t really expected Lu Jinhai’s house to be so big. Even the grass on the side looked extra green here.

Finally, the car stopped outside of a big house, it wasn’t really a mansion but it wasn’t a small house either. The architect had done a really good job.

Mo Chou exited the car slowly with her stuff. She started walking towards the house when the door opened all of a sudden and Lu Jinhai walked outside.

’Damn’ Mo Chou was a little stunned looking at Lu Jinhai who was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. He had always dressed properly when he went to university so Mo Chou had never seen him dressed so casually. It made him look younger and fresher, especially with his hair which looked a little messy.

Lu Jinhai arrived in front of her and took the big cake box from her hands first. After seeing that Mo Chou could easily carry the rest, he finally looked up and said with a smile, "Did you miss me"?

Mo Chou pretended as if she was angry (and totally not admiring his handsome looks and killer smile) and replied, "not at all, why would I miss you"?

"Well, even if you didn’t miss me, I missed you very much," Lu Jinhai said honestly.

Mo Chou didn’t know what to say to that, so she changed the subject instead, she really couldn’t handle the ’flirty’ Lu Jinhai.

"Have Li Chen and Huang Chunhua arrived"?

"Yeah, they are inside in the living room, let’s go" replied Lu Jinhai.

Mo Chou and Lu Jinhai walked inside the house. The inside of the house was decorated in a minimalistic but classy way but for Mo Chou, it lacked the warm homey vibe which was there in her house.

She saw Li Chen and Huang Chunhua after entering the living room, both of them seemed a little nervous, even the bold Li Chen.

After Li Chen and Huang Chunhua saw Mo Chou, they relaxed visibly, as if just her presence gave them comfort. Mo Chou also understood why they were nervous and immediately greeted them with a comforting smile.

Lu Jinhai excused himself saying he would go get some refreshments for everyone, perhaps he could see that they were uncomfortable but anyway, Mo Chou was grateful that he gave them some privacy.

"Hey guys, why do you seem nervous"? Mo Chou asked them.

Li Chen finally had the chance to rant, "how can one not be nervous, everything here screams rich, what if I accidentally break something, I won’t be able to repay Lu Jinhai even half the amount. He has a whole a** butler and all,looking straight out of the Victorian era too". Huang Chunhua indicated that she agreed by nodding rapidly.

Mo Chou found it a little funny but she could fully understand their concerns, "It’s fine guys, relax. Lu Jinhai called us here so we could have fun and I don’t think he will make you pay even if you accidentally break something. We are going to the beach anyway, so just hold on until we leave".

"You’re right, let’s relax Chenchen" said Huang Chunhua.

Li Chen took a deep breath and nodded. She finally noticed the boxes beside Mo Chou’s bag and asked, "ohh, what did you make? Just tell us now, we’re here already. I can’t take any more curiosity".

"Haha, I made a chocolate cake," answered Mo Chou.

"What? Really? I can’t wait to eat it. I tried to make sweet and sour chicken but managed to burn it a little somehow. I hope you won’t mind it".

Mo Chou smiled and said that it was fine. She turned to Huang Chunhua and asked her what she had made. Li Chen was also looking at her curiously.

Huang Chunhua became a little embarrassed due to their attention. "Umm, I made grilled chicken, sweet and sour pork ribs and some steamed buns with different fillings" she said pointing at the big bag she had bought with her.

"Whoa, that’s a lot of food, only my food is lame, it’s ok I guess since I’m going to be eating you guy’s delicious cooking anyway" Li Chen said while scratching her head.

Just then, Lu Jinhai entered the living room with some cold drinks. Everyone took one and sipped on it, the girls chatted casually like usual while Lu Jinhai listened.

After ten minutes, Lu Jinhai’s butler informed him that everything was ready.

Lu Jinhai nodded and told everyone to follow him. Everyone was curious as to how they were going to the beach and followed behind him.

There was a car outside which could easily fit everyone, Lu Jinhai told them to put their stuff in the back and get in.

Li Chen whispered to Mo Chou after they were seated, "are we going to the beach in this car"?

Mo Chou just shrugged and said probably.

The drive was actually pretty short and surprisingly they arrived at a dock instead of the beach.

Just as everyone was feeling confused, Lu Jinhai led them to a cruiser complete with a cabin and all.

He told them to go aboard, everyone aside from Lu Jinhai was shocked.

Li Chen had already forgotten about her previous nervousness and excitedly got on the cruiser, "haa, I’ve never been in such a luxurious looking cruiser".

Everyone got on one by one after her. After the cruiser started, Mo Chou remembered that she had bought the camera Liu Dai had given her. She took it out and gave it to Li Chen as she knew that she would love being their photographer for the trip.

Li Chen took the camera excitedly and started taking pictures crazily, suddenly she stopped and turned to Mo Chou with a sheepish expression, "hehe, I almost finished all the film".

Mo Chou laughed and said, "don’t worry, I bought a lot more just in case".

"Yay" Li Chen did a happy dance and continued taking more pictures. She took pictures of everyone.

If one looked at all the pictures, they would see that the fox Lu Jinhai was beside Mo Chou in all the pictures.

After thirty minutes, they could see a small island. "We’re almost there", said Lu Jinhai. The girls all looked at the island which was getting nearer and nearer.

It looked really beautiful and was completely empty. There were two little huts on the beach too.

Everyone took their stuff and exited the boat excitedly. The person driving the boat also got off and entered one of the two huts.

Li Chen immediately threw her shoes away and started running around. "Wait for me", Huang Chunhua shouted as she ran to catch up to her.

Mo Chou let out a laugh. "Do you like it?" Lu Jinhai whispered all of a sudden.

"Yeah, I do" Mo Chou answered, "ohh, by the way, do you know where I can keep this? I don’t want it out in the sun before we start eating".

"Yeah, I’ll be right back" Lu Jinhai took the cake and went inside one of the huts.

Mo Chou also took off her shoes, but she didn’t immediately run around like Li Chen. She first reapplied sun protection, then took her hat and put it on.

Then finally, she started exploring the beach. The place was really big though, Li Chen and Huang Chunhua had even disappeared somewhere while running around. Mo Chou wasn’t really worried as Lu Jinhai would have stopped them or warned them if there was anything to be concerned about.

Mo Chou walked around, enjoying the breeze. It was different from the city and very refreshing. She saw that there were many beautiful sea shells lying around the beach.

Actually the beach had lots of pretty colorful stones and shells lying around.

It looked magical, straight out of a fairy tale, ’hmm, should I choose one for mom? She might like it’.

Mo Chou started looking around, she wanted to find the most beautiful sea shell for her mother.

She saw a really good looking one from afar and got excited. While rushing towards the sea shell, she suddenly lost her balance.

"Whoa", Mo Chou was panicking when all of a sudden, she was pulled into a warm embrace.
