Chapter 65: Accepted

Mo Chou’s heart was racing as she waited to see if 001 would accept her request.

She knew that 001 might not even be online at the moment but she still couldn’t help but stare at her laptop screen fixedly.

After about an hour, Mo Chou’s eyes were getting tired of staring at the screen, but there was no activity at all.

"Haa, I can’t keep staring at the laptop screen the whole night, should I go to sleep now and check up on it in the morning?" Mo Chou was a little sad. First, she had to sit alone in the classroom because Lu Jinhai had gone somewhere.

She was so used to Lu Jinhai’s company now that it felt empty without him accompanying her.

Mo Chou had cheered herself up thinking about how her big brother might also be here but she still hadn’t gotten the confirmation.

’Would it really be a good thing if 001 is my big brother though? Wouldn’t it mean that big brother also died?’ The thought of her big brother dying made Mo Chou’s heart ache. Mo Chou decided that if 001 was not her big brother, she wouldn’t get sad as that meant that her big brother hadn’t died and was still alive in her previous world.

Mo Chou decided that she would check on the website later, although she had promised herself not to be sad, Mo Chou knew that she would still be disappointed if she was wrong.

Perhaps, if she didn’t obsess over it or give it much thought, she could avoid being disappointed.

Just as Mo Chou was about to click on the exit button, her laptop pinged. 001 had accepted her request and now she could chat with him inside the website.

Mo Chou froze, suddenly overcome with nerves. What should she say? If he was really her big brother, would he even want to talk to her? He had fully ignored her in her previous life and even avoided her.

’Phew’ Mo Chou took a deep breath, "it’s not the time to be a coward" she whispered under her breath.

She decided to send a simple ’hi’ first, she shouldn’t really send anything shocking right?

Her text was seen and instead of a greeting, Mo Chou got a reply saying "why did you want to talk to me? We aren’t familiar right"?

Mo Chou wasn’t angry seeing the seemingly rude response, he was an assassin after all and due to their profession, assassins had to always be alert as they had many enemies.

001 was probably being extra vigilant towards her as she had just recently joined the organisation and hadn’t given any personal information. No one even knew her gender in the entire assassin organisation.

Mo Chou was a little stuck regarding how she should approach the question, if she just asked 001 if he was her big brother from her previous life, he would probably deem her to be insane, incase he was not her big brother of course.

’Ohh, I could try that’.

Rather than straight up asking him, Mo Chou sent a different question, "do you perhaps know anyone with the name ’reaper’?"

001 saw the text right after she sent it, but there was no reply from him for a long time which made Mo Chou anticipate his reply.

"Who are you?" Rather than sending a reply, 001 answered with a question instead.

Mo Chou took a deep breath, if 001 didn’t know her big brother, he wouldn’t react like that right? Finally, she decided to just be out with it, "I am ’little one’."

As soon as she sent the text, Mo Chou got a reply, "tell me the truth, who are you? I will make you regret messing with me".

’Huh, seems like he doesn’t believe me, or is he not my big brother after all’ thought Mo Chou.

"I am really not lying. My big brother has always called me ’little one’."

"That’s not possible. You can’t be her. My ’little one’ is already dead and if this is a joke, it is a very sick one" 001 replied.

After reading the full reply, Mo Chou was overcome with emotions. It seemed like 001 was really her big brother after all and his reply meant that he didn’t completely hate her. ’But did big brother also die and transmigrate to this world? How did he die?’ All kinds of questions were floating around in Mo Chou’s head.

All of a sudden, Mo Chou got a notification that someone was attempting to hack her laptop. Mo Chou knew that it was 001. She wasn’t ready to show herself just yet, so she stopped him, it was actually pretty hard to stop him but Mo Chou did ultimately succeed.

"Sorry, but I can’t let you see me just yet and I promise you that I am not playing any jokes on you. I did die from a bullet but got transmigrated into this world and I am assuming it was the same for you".

001 paused again and replied, "It is still hard for me to believe you completely. If you are really her, you have to convince me".

Mo Chou could completely understand her big brother’s hesitation, it was really shocking that both of them had reunited in a different world after all. She racked her brains for what to say in order to convince him and finally came up with a solution.

"When I was seven, we found a small black puppy hiding behind a tree. The puppy was drenched and we couldn’t see his mom nearby, I convinced you to save the puppy even though we would definitely get punished if our instructor found out. I named him ’bark’ as I thought it was funny and we secretly raised it for two weeks when it suddenly disappeared one day making us sad that it left without saying goodbye" Mo Chou sent a lengthy text.

Surely this would convince her big brother, aside from the two of them not a single soul knew about the puppy.

"How? You’re really my ’little one’?" 001 still seemed to be in disbelief.

"Yes, big brother it’s me Mo Chou" replied Mo Chou.

"Where are you? I am coming there right now, just give me your location" 001 replied.

"Whoa, calm down, I can’t really meet you right now. We should talk first" Mo Chou stopped him.

001 replied after twenty seconds, "you’re right, I have many things to tell you, many things to apologize for but just know that I’m glad that you still found me here and are even willing to talk to me after how I behaved".

Mo Chou got slightly emotional seeing his reply, she was also glad to have found him and even more happy that whatever had made him distance himself from her was not working anymore.

"I still want to meet you in person. There are many things I need to confess and it would only be right for me to tell you everything face to face" 001 insisted.

"Alright, I can meet up with you but not right now, my situation is a little complicated and I want to warn you in advance that I don’t look like how I used to before" Mo Chou said frankly.

"Just tell me the time and place, I’ll be there and as for your appearance, it never mattered to me as long as you are fine".

Mo Chou decided to meet up with her big brother in a restaurant near her university. As for the time, she decided on meeting him after the break with her friends was finished. Lu Jinhai wasn’t going to be there, so Mo Chou didn’t really want to attend any classes anyways.

After classes would be too late, she would just avoid her bodyguards and sneak out after finishing the break with her friends and return to university before the classes were over.

Mo Chou let out a long yawn, she wanted to continue talking to her big brother but she was getting very sleepy, so she texted him, "I will be going to bed now, let’s meet up tomorrow and talk".

001 replied with a good night and Mo Chou finally turned her laptop off.

Speaking of good nights, she hadn’t checked her texts. Mo Chou sat on her bed and opened her chats and just as she had expected, Lu Jinhai had sent her a good night text. It was actually not the only text but all the other texts were sent the day before so she didn’t bother replying to them.

Mo Chou did send a sleeping bear emoticon as the reply to Lu Jinhai’s good night text.

After that, Mo Chou fell asleep, this time with no dreams.

Reaper was still staring at his computer in disbelief. His ’little one’ had been on his mind constantly after meeting that server and now he had even found her.

He was dazed, he had cried while holding the cold body of his little one. He had lived in regret like a zombie. All he wanted was to talk to his little one, one last time and apologise.

’Is this a dream’?
