Chapter 64: The boss

After Mo Chou arrived home, she had dinner with her family as usual. Mo Li wanted everyone to be comfortable for the family movie time, so she came up with the idea of wearing pajamas while watching the movie.

Mo Chou and Liu Dai obediently returned to their rooms to change into comfortable sleep wear and when they returned back to the living room, they saw that Mo Li and Liu Qiang were wearing matching pajama sets with pink hearts on them.

Mo Li looked cute but Liu Qiang seemed a little embarrassed. Mo Chou and Liu Dai exchanged looks, they both found it very funny seeing Liu Qiang’s helpless and resigned expression.

Just like last time, there were popcorn and other snacks to munch on while watching the movie. By the time the movie ended, it was quite late.

Mo Li even fell asleep while watching the movie. Liu Qiang wanted to carry her back to their room but he knew that Mo Li would just be mad at him because his ankle had just recently healed, so he had no choice but to wake her up.

Mo Li gave Mo Chou a good night kiss on the cheek sleepily and went to her room with Liu Qiang.

Mo Chou also returned to her room. She actually hadn’t been able to fully focus on the movie that had been playing as her mind had decided to overthink and come up with millions of questions and theories about the mysterious guy who looked like her big brother.

After she closed the door of her room, Mo Chou first went to wash her face with some cold water before she sat down on her desk. It was so that she could clear her head completely and investigate without feeling emotional.

She took the phone she had gotten from her target and connected it to her laptop first as she preferred her laptop over her phone.

After looking through his phone, Mo Chou found some information. Actually, her target hadn’t really left any real information on the phone but after going through everything, a name kept popping up which was ’black serpent’.

Mo Chou took this name and started searching on the internet only to find nothing, there wasn’t literally anything related to the name but it wasn’t really a problem for Mo Chou.

If she couldn’t find anything on the Internet, she could just search on the dark web. It was not like she had expected to find anything on the Internet in the first place.

Hence, Mo Chou entered the dark web and searched for ’black serpent’. Many things came up related to the name and Mo Chou looked at all the information one by one.

’Bingo’, she finally found the correct one after going through everything. ’Black serpent’ was actually ’black serpent gang’, a well known and influential gang specializing in dealing with arms.

Mo Chou knew that she had found the right one as she saw that her target was also a part of the gang but with a code name instead. He was actually a transporter in charge of looking after the shipment.

This information was not mentioned on the file that the assassin organised had given her. The information which had been given to her said that he was a human trafficker instead which puzzled Mo Chou.

’Did they give me the wrong information?’ Mo Chou wondered but she felt that it was unlikely.

Just to satisfy her curiosity, Mo Chou decided to dig a little deeper and found that her target had been betraying ’black serpent gang’ and working for a different gang which ran a prost*****n business.

He was secretly supplying the other gang with weapons free of cost and taking a hefty commission.

’Hmm, is that why he was killed? Did the black serpent gang find out about his betrayal and kill him?’ Mo Chou felt that this was likely true and as for who had posted the mission on the assassin organised, Mo Chou wasn’t really curious, it was really a taboo for an assassin to be curious about their employer anyway.

As long as it did not affect her, Mo Chou wouldn’t really bother finding out everything.

For now, Mo Chou wanted to find out about the look alike. She first searched for anyone named ’reaper’ within the gang but didn’t find anything.

Mo Chou was getting a little frustrated when she saw something that caught her interest. The leader of black serpent gang had actually recently died and what was shocking was that he had handed the whole gang over to a ’newbie’. This had aroused many questions and dissatisfaction among the gang members but everyone had shut up after seeing the apparent ’newbie’ handle everything perfectly.

This newbie’s name wasn’t mentioned anywhere and everyone just called him boss. Mo Chou wanted to see if this boss was the guy she was looking for but couldn’t find any pictures of him.

She searched everywhere and finally found a photo, it was not actually of the ’boss’ but a picture of the old gang leader’s funeral. Mo Chou immediately recognized her big brothers look alike in the photo but she couldn’t be sure that he was the boss.

After researching for hours, she still couldn’t find anything but that photo. There wasn’t even a description of this ’boss’ guy.

Just as she was about to be at her wits end, Mo Chou suddenly remembered something. Maybe she could ask someone else instead, that someone was none other than 007. She had actually forgotten about him, ’I can use one of my three requests I guess’.

Mo Chou went to the assassin organisation’s hidden website and quickly went to her chats.

007 had actually sent her messages before. He seemed a little scared of disturbing her, so he only sent an occasional ’hi’ and also some ’are you free’ texts.

’It would be too rude to directly mention my request right?’, so Mo Chou also sent a ’hello’ to 007 as a greeting.

She waited for about thirty seconds before she got a reply, ’wow, that was fast’.

007 seemed very excited to be greeted by Mo Chou, he sent her multiple texts rapidly.

"Whoa, slow down. I actually need some information from you urgently, just consider it as one of my requests" Mo Chou texted.

"Ohhh okay, sorry I was too excited, what can I do for you?" 007 replied, seeming to have calmed down but he was actually dancing around in his chair.

He had thought that he would never be able to repay ’M’ but they had actually reached out to him first.

"Its nothing much, I sent you a photo just now, look at it and find me the information of the person I have circled in the photo".

007 downloaded the photo and took a close look at it. After seeing the person whose face was circled, 007 was a little shocked, ’Isn’t this him?’

He didn’t say anything to Mo Chou but asked her, "may I ask why exactly you need to find the information of this person?"

Mo Chou immediately knew that 007 probably already knew this person, she didn’t know if that was a good or a bad thing, she decided just to answer honestly, "I don’t really have any motive, this person looks like someone whom I knew in the past. I was a little shocked to see his face and I just want to confirm if he is the same person".

"Ohh, Is the person good or bad?" 007 questioned Mo Chou wanting to know if she had any intention of harming the person in the photo.

"Don’t worry, I won’t use the information you provide me to harm him, in fact I don’t have any intention to harm the person at all regardless if he is the person I am looking for".

007 pondered over her words and decided to trust her. The person was very formidable anyways and doing anything to him was next to impossible.

"Okay, what do you want to know about him?" 007 finally asked.

"Is he the current boss of the black serpent gang?" asked Mo Chou.

007 replied affirmatively. "Then, what is his name?" Mo Chou continued.

"Actually, you don’t really have to ask me all these questions?" 007 replied all of a sudden which puzzled Mo Chou.

Mo Chou asked him for the reason and 007 replied that actually the boss of black serpent gang was actually a part of the assassin organisation.

The top ranked assassins and assassins who are ’SSS’ level can chat with each other after sending a simple request.

007 wanted Mo Chou to talk to the guy himself so that she could confirm if he was the one she was looking for.

"He is a pretty easy going guy and you can ask him yourself" 007 thought that he was a genius for coming up with the idea.

"Oh,ok" Mo Chou was still processing the fact that the look-alike was also a part of the assassin organisation. Wasn’t that too much of a coincidence?

"You can just send a request to ’001’, you can find him on the website".

Mo Chou thanked 007 and informed him that her one request can be said to be fulfilled.

After that, she found ’001’ on the website. Mo Chou took a deep breath and finally clicked on the ’request’ button below his profile.
