Chapter 60: Shocking face

After Mo Chou was finished with her ’delicious’ dinner, she hurriedly made an excuse and went back to her room. There she first flushed her mouth with water and then took some cold drinks that she kept in the mini fridge in her room and guzzled them down.

After finally getting rid of the awful taste in her mouth, Mo Chou sat in front of her laptop. She wanted to see if there were any new missions which were to her liking in the assassin organisation, it had been a long time since she had done anything ’thrilling’.

She wondered how the little kid that she had saved twice was doing right now.

Mo Chou looked around and found a mission which was compatible with her. The person she was supposed to assassinate had done several inhumane stuff, he was a little unhinged and looked like a tough target.

Even his photograph could creep someone out. He was clearly a psychopath. Mo Chou got a little excited while reading his information as it didn’t look like the person would go down without a fight and it was exactly what she was looking for.

The mission also mentioned that he was going to be attending an event, Mo Chou looked at the date and saw that the event was taking place tonight at nine o’clock which was about forty five minutes from now.

’Should I go for it or not?’ Mo Chou pondered as it was almost time for the event to start. In the end, she decided to go for it, this ’event’ was the perfect time to act as it was actually an illegal gathering of various underground gangs and stuff.

Although the security was pretty tight for the event, it was a good opportunity because the target was a person who lived somewhere with even better security and rarely left his house as he was quite paranoid.

Mo Chou first hacked into the cameras of the mansion where the event was going to take place to know all the ins and outs of the place. "How will I disguise myself though?"

She looked at the list of people invited but thought that going as them would be too much work. "I don’t have the time to transform myself completely".

The best option would be to go disguised as servers or as one of the ’girls’ entertaining the guests. Mo Chou rejected the option of going as one of the ’girls’ that left the option of server.

The servers would only be scanned for weapons and they wouldn’t thoroughly check their identities one by one. As they would scan everyone using a detector, Mo Chou decided that she wouldn’t take any weapons. Being a ’server’, she would probably get the opportunity to snag a small knife.

She was an experienced assassin after all, so Mo Chou didn’t need to rely on weapons solely, she could even kill someone with some shoelaces.

All the servers were hired from the same company and would be arriving at the party fifteen minutes before it started to get everything ready.

Mo Chou didn’t really have too much time, but thankfully the company which was sending the servers for the event was located pretty nearby. There were both male and female servers so Mo Chou decided not to disguise as a male this time as putting on a wig perfectly was something that needed time which she didn’t have.

She just put her hair up in a ponytail then started putting on makeup which altered her facial features. She also drew freckles and even some acne on herself as she didn’t want to get noticed by anyone.

She also called for a taxi nearby while doing her makeup via an app.

After she was all done, Mo Chou looked at herself in the mirror, she was pretty satisfied with the average, perhaps a little ugly looking face.

Mo Chou took some cash and her ’work phone’ and left the house. Thankfully, there was no hindrance while going out this time and Mo Chou arrived at the location quickly.

Mo Chou was pleasantly surprised to find that her cab was already there and waiting. She opened the cab door and hurriedly told the driver the location. She even offered him extra cash to drive faster which the driver accepted as it was quite a nice amount.

Mo Chou arrived at the company and headed to the third floor where the servers would get ready. Mo Chou already knew what to do when she arrived at the third floor, she would pretend to be one of the new hires as the company had just recently hired quite a number of workers.

Before she even reached the third floor, Mo Chou met a friendly guy who actually worked as a server in the company. He greeted her when he saw that she was heading to the same floor and started engaging in a conversation.

Mo Chou activated her acting skills and the guy didn’t even suspect her at all. Mo Chou even made up a sob story about herself to gain his sympathy. The guy found that Mo Chou was also going to the event and took her to the changing rooms where she could get her uniform and even got her a tag which all the servers were required to wear.

Mo Chou was pleased with herself for her quick thinking, all she had done was make up a sad backstory for herself and tell the friendly guy about how she was nervous, making the guy voluntarily help her with everything.

After she got changed, the guy took her to the place where all the servers were supporting to gather and introduced her as one of the new workers. The friendly guy was pretty popular among the servers, so everyone greeted Mo Chou.

There were quite a lot of servers who were going to the event and Mo Chou perfectly blended in the group.

When it was time, the manager came and told everyone to climb on to the van as it was time.

When they arrived at the mansion where the event was taking place, all the servers got checked one by one and entered through the back door.

After entering the mansion, Mo Chou didn’t hurry but acted like she was really a server. The guests had yet to start coming, so she helped the other servers with everything. She took on the duty of serving wine to the guests.

Finally, the invited guests started arriving one after the other. Mo Chou looked like she was busy serving wine to all the guests but in reality, she was observing everyone, they could turn out to be her future targets as they were all part of underground gangs and shady organisations. She was also of course keeping an eye out for her target.

No one really noticed Mo Chou due to her disguise and everything was going smoothly.

The mansion was getting pretty noisy with music playing and people socializing. There were even dancers dancing on the stage which were the ’entertainers’.

Mo Chou was serving guests near the door so that she could know when her target arrived but before she could see her target, someone else caught her eyes.

A tall masked man followed by a bodyguard arrived at the event. He was wearing an intricate mask. Mo Chou didn’t know why but this dangerous and intimidating looking man actually gave her a familiar vibe.

’Have I seen him before?’ Mo Chou wondered while looking at him when suddenly the man also looked at her. Mo Chou could feel his piercing gaze though she couldn’t really see what his eyes looked like due to the mask and the fact that she was standing quite far away.

Mo Chou started feeling worried in case he was really someone who knew her and had seen through her disguise when the masked man looked away and acted as if nothing had happened. He didn’t even turn in her direction again and headed straight inside with his bodyguard.

’Was I just overthinking?’ thought Mo Chou, how could someone attending an event like this know her anyway? ’Why did he feel so familiar though?’

Mo Chou knew that she couldn’t let her thoughts wander around especially during a mission surrounded by dangerous people so she threw the whole thing to the back of her mind. She still couldn’t help but search for the masked man in the crowd from time to time though.

Mo Chou continued on serving the guests but had to go to the kitchen to get more wine, when she came back, she actually saw her target entering the mansion. ’Finally, took him long enough’ thought Mo Chou, ’now, I just have to find the perfect opportunity and make him alone’.

Mo Chou continued serving the guests while looking for an opening, she served the guests one by one and reached her target.

"Would you like some red wine sir?" Mo Chou asked her target.

The man looked at her appearance and looked away in disdain. He still took the offered wine and started sipping on it. Mo Chou observed him for a while and wondered why he was staying at the door and not heading inside.

She got her answer pretty quickly as her target went to personally open a car door for someone. Mo Chou looked at the person who had arrived with interest but soon her interest turned into shock, "big_big brother"?
