Mo Chou couldn’t believe her eyes, ’am_am I seeing things?’

How could her ’big brother’ be here? No, it wasn’t possible. It was probably someone with the same face right? But the aura, the mannerisms and even the walking style were the same.

As if he could sense her gaze, The guy turned towards her direction. They made eye contact for a second. Mo Chou saw that his face seemed to have had a complicated expression when he saw her but it was gone in a flash and her big brother turned his head to listen to something that her target was saying.

Mo Chou didn’t know what to feel all of a sudden? What if it was really her big brother? And what if he was here right now?

The ’big brother’ she was referring to was not Liu Dai.

When she had transmigrated, Mo Chou had calmly accepted everything, she didn’t really care that she had died and was in a whole different world altogether, she didn’t even want to remember her previous life as it had not been all sunshine and rainbows.

But sometimes when Mo Chou was alone, her mind would wander and she would start thinking of her previous life. She would feel a dull pang in her heart as she remembered the only person who had ever given her warmth in her previous life, which was her big brother.

Her big brother, who didn’t have a name and just a code name ’reaper’. He wasn’t her biological brother but had been together with her at the assassin training compound ever since she could remember.

Mo Chou also didn’t really have a name initially but later she had been given a name for a certain mission during her ’training’ which she had gotten attached to, hence she was called Mo Chou ever since.

Her big brother never called her Mo Chou though, he had called her ’little one’ ever since they were small and never changed how he called her even when she insisted as she didn’t want to be called ’little one’ when she was only three years younger than him.

Mo Chou didn’t have any memories prior to training and living in the compound.

The compound was a training facility for assassins for a mysterious organisation. Mostly, it was children being trained there from the age five. Mo Chou had been the youngest child there at four and had been the target of other kids for bullying.

Every time she was bullied, Mo Chou’s big brother would come to her rescue. He was one of the best at fighting in the whole compound and warned everyone not to mess with her. He also taught Mo Chou how to stand up for herself and fight, even teaching her many ’dirty tricks’ she could use as her size was the smallest among everyone.

Mo Chou and her big brother had been very close and had always relied on each other for warmth in the brutal training compound. The ’instructors’ in the compound would not spare anyone and used ruthless methods to ’train’ all the children. The punishments they doled out was even more inhumane.

With such a dark past, Mo Chou obviously didn’t want to remember her previous life but her heart would still ache thinking of the only person who had been her support.

When they grew up to be teenagers, Mo Chou and her big brother had trained to become the best assassins the compound had to offer.

They were especially selected to train in a ’special’ class which only the best of the best got the ’honour’ to attend. That was also where Mo Chou got her large range of skills from.

After they got into the special class though, everything went downhill for Mo Chou. The instructors noticed how close she and her big brother were and decided to separate them in order to avoid any troubles.

Mo Chou didn’t see her big brother at all until she was fifteen, she randomly saw him one day and ran over to him emotionally, but to her horror, her big brother refused to even acknowledge her, even treating her like she was his worst enemy.

Mo Chou had been heartbroken and had cried for days in secret, later she had decided that she didn’t want to stay in the compound anymore and trained hard so that the instructors would assign her missions.

The assassins who were allowed to go on missions didn’t need to stay in the compound. After getting a certain rank, they could even live anywhere they wanted but they had to get ’chipped’.

Mo Chou had quickly climbed up the ranks and asked to live elsewhere alone. After her request had been accepted, Mo Chou never looked back. She stayed in her apartment and completed the assigned missions without failure.

Before transmigrating, the last time Mo Chou had seen her big brother was when all the top ranking assassins were summoned to change their chips as they needed to be replaced.

Mo Chou had found from someone that her big brother had also become a high ranking assassin and was also living alone somewhere.

She had watched him the whole time and even wondered if she should approach him to ask him if he had any misunderstanding regarding her, but Mo Chou had ultimately given up as he had left abruptly for something before she could approach him.

"Hey, you almost spilled wine on me? Do you think you can afford it if you dirty my clothes?" Mo Chou instantly stopped reminiscing about her past.

"I’m so sorry sir. This will never happen again" Mo Chou apologized quickly, playing the part of a poor server.

"Hmph, go get me more wine" the man harrumphed.

Mo Chou replied affirmatively and quickly walked away. She had to find the identity of the person who looked exactly like her big brother, but she had to finish her mission first.

She also had a plan. Since her target seemed to know him, she could get the information out of her target before killing him.

Mo Chou first went to the kitchen and sneaked a small knife into her pocket. It wasn’t very sharp but she decided to make it work.

’Now where could he be?’ Mo Chou wondered as she had lost track of them at some point. She took a plate of mini sandwiches and started looking for her target.

She couldn’t find her target or her big brother’s look alike in the entire first floor. She then headed upstairs where the guests were being ’entertained’ by girls. Mo Chou had thought that her target would be there as he was a pervert but she didn’t find any traces of him there too.

Mo Chou sighed and headed to the third floor. When she reached the third floor, she saw that it was oddly empty. She could not see anyone there.

’Maybe, he’s in one of the rooms’ thought Mo Chou but she was getting a headache even thinking about checking all the rooms one by one.

Mo Chou knew that she didn’t have any other choice and unlocked the first door. There was no one inside the room at all, but when she was about to exit the room, Mo Chou heard someone’s voice.

There were actually people in the next room talking. It sounded like there were at least three people.

Mo Chou decided to see if her target was among them. She didn’t want to barge into the room in order to not alert anyone so she decided to use the window to spy on them. The other room’s window was also probably open as Mo Chou could hear them talking through this room’s window.

Mo Chou poked her head out of the window and was pleasantly surprised to find that the window was in fact wide open and both the rooms’ windows were quite near.

She would still need to climb out though but thankfully, there was plenty of space to fit her feet underneath the windows, so she wouldn’t have to strain herself too much making it much easier.

Mo Chou climbed out of the window making sure to make no noise. She creeped closer to the other window slowly and peeped inside.

Inside the room, there were actually four people. To her surprise, the masked man from earlier accompanied by his bodyguard was also there. There were also her brother’s look alike and her target.

The masked man and her brother’s look alike were sitting in two chairs facing each other. The bodyguard was standing behind the masked man and her target was behind the look alike.

They seemed to be having a conversation but the one who spoke was not the masked man, but his bodyguard. Her brother’s look alike was also speaking but the target seemed to be frozen, he had a nervous look on his face.

Mo Chou wondered what they were talking about. She could hear them but not clearly.

Suddenly, her target got on his knees in front of everyone and seemed to be begging for something.

Mo Chou was puzzled regarding what was happening exactly and why her target was begging.

The masked man stood up and fixed his clothes elegantly. He then proceeded to leave with his bodyguard without even sparing a glance at the begging man.

Mo Chou also got her answer regarding why her target was begging as her brother’s look alike took out a gun and sh*t her target right on his forehead.

Mo Chou looked at the scene through the window in shock as brain matter flew everywhere.
