Sleeping With My Step Daddy -
Chapter 87: "Back in Our Real Home"
Chapter 87: "Back in Our Real Home"
Reiji sat alone in a cozy little café, his fingers wrapped around a warm coffee cup. Outside, the rain poured steadily, tapping against the windows. He looked up when the doorbell chimed—Kai stepped in, slightly wet, shaking off the rain from his shoulders.
Reiji: "Why did you call me outside in this weather?"
Kai slid into the seat across from him, brushing his damp hair back.
Kai (smiling): "The rain is heavy."
Reiji: "Yeah... the weather report said it’ll be like this for the next two days."
They both ordered hot coffee. The atmosphere inside was warm and comforting, the smell of roasted beans and fresh pastries hanging in the air. The waiter brought over a plate of pancakes.
Kai (surprised and happy): "Ohh, it’s been a while since I had pancakes."
Reiji (smiling slightly): "This place is famous for them."
Kai took a bite and his eyes lit up.
Kai: "Woo—this is amazing!"
Reiji let out a small laugh. Then, after a moment, he looked at Kai seriously.
Reiji: "So... what did you want to talk about?"
Kai bit his lip, hesitating for a second.
Kai: "Reiji, I’ve noticed lately... you’ve been acting kind of weird."
Reiji lowered his eyes, staring into his coffee.
Reiji: "Really?"
Kai: "Yeah. If something’s bothering you, you can talk to me."
Reiji: "Nope... I’m okay."
Kai: "Reiji, you’re not."
Reiji sighed.
Reiji (quietly): "Ahh... I’m just jealous of Miles. He’s pretty... and he was Eden’s crush."
Kai leaned in slightly.
Kai: "It’s true. Eden did have a crush on Miles... but Miles never knew."
Reiji looked up, surprised.
Reiji: "What?"
Kai: "Yeah. Miles didn’t know Eden had feelings for him. And Miles... he’s always only seen Eden as a friend. Nothing more. Besides, he has his own husband now, and a child. So, why are you still worried?"
Reiji: "Is that so..."
Kai (smiling reassuringly): "Yeah. You don’t need to be insecure. Miles is sweet, but I know you, Reiji. You’re not a bad person."
Reiji didn’t say a word at first. He just looked down at his now cold coffee, then finally gave a small nod.
Kai: "Now you know the truth. You can relax."
Reiji nodded again, this time with a tiny, grateful smile. They both sipped their coffee slowly, the rain still falling outside—two friends, sharing a quiet moment of clarity and warmth.
Kai and Reiji returned from the café, stepping into the warm atmosphere of the family gathering in the mansion’s grand hallway. Everyone was talking and laughing, filling the space with lively energy.
Takeshi spotted Kai and smiled.
Takeshi: "Ohh, my son—come here."
Kai smiled back and walked over, sitting beside him. Bast’s eyes followed Kai with soft affection. Reiji quietly took a seat on the opposite couch, his gaze drifting toward Miles, who was laughing with Aiko.
Suddenly, Takeshi leaned toward Kai.
Takeshi: "Kai, I want to talk to you about something important."
Kai (curious): "What is it, Dad?"
Takeshi: "Let’s talk in private."
Kai nodded. Takeshi stood, and Kai followed. Before they left, Takeshi turned to Bast.
Takeshi: "Bast, join us."
Without hesitation, Bast got up and followed them into the private room.
Meanwhile, Reiji stood up and looked at Miles. He hesitated, then took a step closer.
Reiji: "Miles... can we talk in private?"
Miles hesitated. Ethan stood nearby, holding little Mike in his arms and watching them quietly. Miles finally nodded.
Miles: "Okay."
They stepped out onto the balcony. Rain still poured steadily, a soft patter against the stone and railing.
Reiji (softly): "The weather’s cold..."
Miles nodded, wrapping his arms loosely around himself.
Reiji (quietly, looking at him): "I’m sorry for being rude lately."
Miles blinked in surprise.
Miles: "Why are you saying sorry?"
Reiji: "Because it was my fault."
Miles: "It’s okay... you don’t need to apologize."
Reiji (earnestly): "I’ve never met someone like you before. You’re so... pure. Kind. Can we be friends?"
Miles looked at him for a moment, then smiled.
Miles: "Yeah. I’d like that."
Reiji smiled back, genuinely this time. The tension between them faded like mist in the rain, and the two stood together, chatting more comfortably—happy to finally understand and know each other better.
Meanwhile, Takeshi, Kai, and Bast sat together in the quiet, private room. The mood was calm but slightly serious.
Takeshi: "Kai, I want to ask you something important."
Kai: "Yes, Dad?"
Takeshi: "I want to ask where you both want to have your wedding—Japan or America?"
Kai blinked, caught off guard by the sudden question. He hesitated, unsure how to answer.
Takeshi (gently): "I’ll be happy as long as you’re honest with me, son."
Kai looked down for a moment, then glanced at Bast, who sat calmly beside him, giving a supportive smile. Kai took a deep breath and spoke.
Kai: "I prefer America."
Takeshi smiled warmly, nodding.
Takeshi: "I know, my son."
Kai (a little surprised): "But Dad, you..."
Takeshi (cutting him off with a soft laugh): "Nope. I’m really okay with your decision. It’s a great idea to do the wedding in America."
Kai’s lips curled into a relieved smile.
Takeshi (smiling proudly): "Then it’s decided."
Bast looked at Kai with a tender gaze, his expression filled with affection. Kai, hearing talk of the actual marriage, shyly looked away, cheeks pink.
Bast reached over and gently took Kai’s hand, squeezing it.
Bast (smiling): "America it is."
Bast and Kai stepped into their room. As soon as Bast closed the door, he wasted no time—he wrapped his arms around Kai’s waist and pulled him close.
Kai (softly): "Bast..."
Bast (smiling): "So we’re finally going to America... to our home."
Kai (laughing a little): "Bast, it’s not the time for this."
But Bast was already pressing warm kisses along Kai’s neck, his tongue brushing against the skin. His hands roamed up Kai’s shirt, fingers quickly unbuttoning him.
Kai (trying to resist, breathless): "Bast... if we keep doing this now, what will be left for our first night after the wedding?"
Bast paused.
Kai turned around to face him, his tone half-serious, half-teasing.
Kai: "Yep. I’m not even excited for our wedding night anymore. We’ve already done everything."
Bast narrowed his eyes and suddenly pulled back, folding his arms.
Bast: "Then... until the wedding, I won’t touch you. Not even a kiss. I’ll wait until we’re married."
Kai burst into laughter and walked over to the bed, flopping down onto it.
Kai (teasing): "Really? You think you can last that long?"
Bast (firmly): "I can. I will."
Kai stretched, his shirt riding up just enough to reveal his waist. Bast’s eyes instantly locked onto the view—hungry, tempted—but he clenched his jaw and quickly looked away.
Bast (grabbing a towel): "I said I won’t touch you, and I meant it."
He headed to the bathroom.
Kai watched him with a grin.
Kai (murmuring to himself): "Okay... let’s see how much patience you really have."
Bast stood under the cold shower, water running down his body as he tried to cool the heat rushing through him.
Bast (muttering): "Ahh... just seeing his waist turned me on..."
He ran his fingers through his wet hair, closing his eyes.
Bast: "I need to calm down. I said I’ll wait—and I will."
After some time, Bast stepped out of the bathroom, towel drying his hair. He glanced at the bed and saw Kai already asleep. A soft smile appeared on his face. He gently pulled the blanket over Kai and tucked him in, brushing a hand over his head.
Bast (whispering): "I’m waiting for our first night..."
Bast lay down beside him, slipping an arm around his waist. Holding him close, they both drifted into peaceful sleep.
Morning.
The warm glow of daylight filled the mansion. Bast and Kai were ready, dressed neatly for departure. Yuri looked surprised and a little concerned.
Yuri: "It’s so sudden... Why are you flying to America like this?"
Kai (smiling): "Don’t worry, Aunt. We’ll meet again soon."
Bast gently took Kai’s hand.
Takeshi pulled Kai into a hug.
Takeshi: "My son... We’ll see each other again—on your wedding day."
Kai’s eyes shimmered with a joyful smile. Nearby, Miles, Ethan, and little Mike were also getting ready to leave.
Aiko (hugging Miles): "I’ll really miss you."
Miles (smiling): "Don’t worry. We’ll talk on video call often."
Aiko bent down and gently patted Mike’s head.
Aiko: "Little baby, don’t forget me, okay?"
Mike giggled and waved his little hand.
After bidding farewell to the entire family, Bast, Kai, Miles, Ethan, and Mike headed to the airport together.
They boarded the private jet and, with hearts full of excitement, took off—leaving Japan behind and flying toward a new Chapter of their lives in America.
Kai and Bast stepped into their beautiful home in America. As soon as they entered, Kai’s eyes lit up with excitement.
Kai (smiling brightly): "Everything is still the same..."
He slowly walked through the living room, taking in every detail—the familiar scent, the soft lighting, the furniture just where he remembered it. He sat down on the couch, still smiling, and Bast joined him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
Kai leaned his head against Bast’s shoulder, letting out a peaceful sigh.
Kai (softly): "Bast, I’m really happy."
Bast (gently): "Me too... Finally, we’re back in our home."
The house was quiet and warm, filled with the comfort of memories—and the promise of their new beginning.
