Sleeping With My Step Daddy -
Chapter 88: "Cheap Pills"
Chapter 88: "Cheap Pills"
Bast and Kai entered their room.
Kai looked around, a soft smile on his lips. "The room’s still the same."
Bast stepped in behind him, eyes roaming the space with a fond expression. "I love this room."
Kai turned to him. "Why?"
Bast smirked. "Because the first time we did it... it was in this room. I still imagine your moans echoing off the walls."
Kai smiled, amused. He lay down on the bed and teased, "What about hearing those moans again?"
Without hesitation, Kai began taking off his shirt. Bast walked over, eyes fixed on him. He gently traced his fingers along Kai’s waist, temptation swirling in his gaze—
Then suddenly, he stopped.
The promise he made echoed in his mind. He had sworn not to touch Kai until their wedding night.
Bast quickly turned away. "We should take some rest."
Kai chuckled. "Are you really going to refuse this chance?"
Bast grit his teeth. "Kai, don’t seduce me. If I lose control... you’ll be the one begging me to stop."
Kai laughed and stood up. "Okay, okay! I’ll go take a shower."
Bast nodded, watching him disappear into the bathroom.
As the sound of running water filled the room, Bast took off his coat and sank into a chair, muttering to himself as he glanced down at his pants.
"Oh shit... again? I’m turning on just like that."
The next day, Bast sat in his office, frustration written all over his face. His shoulders were heavy—not just from work after a whole month back at work, but from the added stress of upcoming wedding arrangements.
Jeff stood in front of him, calmly going over the schedule. Bast’s eyes, however, stared blankly ahead, his mood clearly sour.
Suddenly, the office door opened.
Rico entered, radiating his usual charm and attitude. Without waiting for permission, he strolled in and casually sat across from Bast.
Rico (smirking): "Hello, Bast. Long time no see."
Bast (flatly): "What brings you here?"
Rico (with a grin): "I was just wondering how it feels to be officially engaged. Congratulations, by the way."
Bast gave a small nod. "Thanks."
Rico looked around. "Where’s Kai?"
Jeff’s eyes shifted toward Rico with a glance. Rico, however, didn’t even acknowledge him.
Bast replied, "He’s with Miles."
Rico smiled. "I’m excited to see him again. It’s been two years... he must’ve grown up a lot, huh?"
Bast sighed, visibly exhausted.
Rico stood and stretched. "Alright then. I should go meet him. I really miss that stubborn kid."
Without a word to Jeff—still standing there—Rico turned and exited the office.
Meanwhile...
Kai and Miles sat in a cozy café, chatting while Mike sat in a baby chair beside them.
Kai leaned over and gently patted Mike’s head. "Don’t be naughty, kid."
Miles (sighing): "He’s always naughty."
Kai laughed.
Just then, Miles’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen and answered it.
Miles: "Hello?"
Rico (on the phone): "Hey, Miles. How are you doing?"
Miles: "Doing good. What about you?"
Rico: "Like always—cool. Is Kai with you?"
Miles: "Yeah, we’re in a café. I’ll send you the location."
Rico: "Perfect. I’ll be there in ten minutes."
Miles smiled and nodded. The call ended.
Kai looked at him. "Who was that?"
Miles: "Rico. He wants to meet you."
Kai blinked. "Oh..."
Miles: "He’s really missed you, Kai. He kept trying to find you. He didn’t give up—just like Bast. We all thought you died, but Bast... he never stopped trying."
Kai fell silent for a moment, absorbing the words.
Bast really went through so much to find me... Everyone was worried.
Some time later, Rico arrived at the café. As he stepped inside, his eyes immediately found Kai.
Kai looked up, their gazes locking.
He whispered to himself, "He didn’t change... still the same."
Rico walked straight toward them. Without hesitation, he reached out, grabbed Kai’s hand, pulled him up, and hugged him tightly.
Rico (teasing): "You little stubborn kid... I really missed you."
Kai (smiling, touched): "Ahh, Rico..."
Rico pulled back slightly, looking at him carefully. "You’ve grown up so much."
Kai shrugged with a small smile. "Yeah, but you... you’re still the same."
Rico grinned. "Really?"
They all sat down at the table, a warm but nostalgic air between them. Rico glanced between Kai and Miles before focusing back on Kai.
Rico: "So? When’s the wedding?"
Kai: "Next week."
Rico: "Congratulations."
Kai: "Thanks. And you? Are you really planning to live alone forever like that?"
Rico leaned back with a light laugh. "I’m fine like this. Love’s not for me."
Kai didn’t respond right away. Instead, he just looked at Rico quietly.
Rico (changing the subject): "Anyway, what do you want as a wedding gift?"
Kai: "Nothing. I’m fine."
Rico (insistent): "Come on. I really want to give you something."
Kai smirked and leaned forward a little. "Then... show up with your boyfriend on my wedding day."
Rico raised an eyebrow. "Really? That’s all? That’s so easy."
Kai (deadpan): "A real one."
Rico laughed, but Kai could tell it was a little forced.
Rico: "That’s impossible."
Kai smiled gently. "It’s not. Just... open your heart."
Rico didn’t say anything. He just kept laughing, brushing it off, but Kai could feel the wall behind it.
Still, they continued chatting, sipping coffee and enjoying dessert. Beneath the laughter, a quiet understanding hung in the air.
After a sweet time together at the café, Rico finally stood up.
Rico (smiling): "Okay then... let’s meet later."
Kai nodded, and Miles offered a warm smile.
With a casual wave, Rico turned and left the café. But as soon as he stepped outside, that smile slowly faded.
He walked to his car, quietly opened the door, sat down, and shut it with a soft thud. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he leaned his head back against the seat. For a moment, he just sat there in silence.
Then he started the engine and pulled onto the road.
While driving, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and answered.
Rico: "Hey, James. What’s up?"
James (over the phone): "Hey, Rico! There’s a party at the club tonight—come join us, yeah?"
Rico paused for a second, his tone flat. "...Okay. Done."
He ended the call without much thought and tossed the phone onto the passenger seat. His fake smile disappeared again as the memory crept in—
That night at the restaurant...
Sitting alone...
Waiting for someone who never showed up.
Rico (muttering bitterly): "How dumb of me... opening my heart for that bastard."
Jeff....
His grip on the wheel tightened, his eyes fixed on the road ahead—hiding behind sunglasses, hiding behind his own walls again.
The music pulsed through the club as lights flickered and bodies swayed. Rico stepped inside, drawing eyes immediately—his sharp jawline, styled hair, and that confident, cold charm made him stand out like a star in the dark.
James spotted him from across the VIP section and waved, grinning.
James: "Hey! Look at you, beautiful!"
Rico smirked and walked over, settling casually on the plush couch beside him.
Rico: "What’s up?"
James: "I’m good, but where the hell have you been? Disappeared like you never existed."
Rico leaned back, sipping his whiskey smoothly.
Rico: "Just busy with work."
James chuckled and waved over to his group. "Well, anyway—meet my friends. That’s Ken, Loca, and Jimmy."
They all greeted him, and Ken raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
Ken: "Damn, James. You didn’t tell us you had such a beautiful friend."
Rico offered a polite smile, lifting his glass in a silent cheers. Jimmy leaned in close to James, whispering with a wicked grin.
Jimmy (low): "Is he a bottom?"
James blinked, then nodded with a small smirk. "Yep."
Jimmy grinned wider, eyes gleaming.
Jimmy: "Looking at him makes me horny. That body... I’d kill to see him naked and fuck him right now."
James laughed. "Then go try your luck."
Without hesitation, Jimmy stood up and slid onto the couch beside Rico, close enough for Rico to notice the cheap cologne and cocky attitude.
Jimmy (grinning): "Hey, Rico. Let’s bottom up."
Rico lifted his glass and clinked it casually. "Sure."
Jimmy’s hand slipped behind Rico’s waist, fingers grazing his lower back.
Jimmy (smirking): "What about having some fun tonight, hmm?"
Rico slowly turned his head, eyes sharp, his smile dangerously calm.
Rico (coolly): "Nope. You’re not my type."
Jimmy’s smile faltered for a second as Rico sipped his drink again, unbothered.
Rico (leaning back): "Try someone else. I don’t entertain cheap thrills."
The air between them tensed, and James quickly stepped in with a laugh to ease the vibe.
James: "Alright, alright, play nice, boys..."
Rico didn’t spare another glance. He was back to his drink, his thoughts, his silence. Unreachable—just the way he liked it.
The music throbbed louder, the lights dizzying. Rico leaned back into the plush couch, his movements slower now—his vision slightly blurred. He’d only had a few drinks, but something felt wrong.
Jimmy leaned in beside him, smirking.
Jimmy: "You don’t like cheap thrills... but I love them."
Ken passed another drink to Rico with a sly grin.
Ken: "Just one last shot. Bottoms up."
Rico hesitated, but lifted the glass. As it slid down his throat, a strange heaviness sank into his body. The room swayed. His head spun.
Rico (murmuring): "W-What the hell..."
His arms wouldn’t respond. His body slumped slightly. Jimmy slid in closer, placing a hand on Rico’s thigh.
Jimmy (grinning): "Don’t worry, baby. I’ll take care of everything."
Ken chuckled darkly: "Hey, after you, it’s my turn."
James suddenly noticed something was off. He moved to stop them.
James: "Hey! What the hell are you doing?!"
Jimmy turned to him nonchalantly.
Jimmy: "Relax. It’s just sex. He’s safe. Don’t get dramatic."
James tried to push past, but Loca clung to his arm.
Loca: "What about me, James? Aren’t you giving me tonight?"
Loca dragged James away, ignoring his protests.
James: "Hey! Don’t do anything weird—I’m serious!"
Ken threw a cocky smirk back at him.
Ken: "We’re just having fun. Your beautiful friend is safe."
Jimmy and Ken gripped Rico’s arms and led his limp body toward a private room. Rico tried to resist, but his body betrayed him.
Rico (slurred): "Get... off me..."
They didn’t listen.
Jimmy pushed him down onto the velvet couch in the dim-lit private lounge. He began unbuttoning Rico’s shirt while Ken locked the door behind them.
Jimmy (grinning): "You look even better like this..."
But before he could touch him again—
BAM.
The door burst open with a loud crash.
Jeff stood there. Eyes burning.
Without a word, he lunged at Jimmy and punched him hard in the face. Blood sprayed as Jimmy collapsed to the ground with a groan.
Jeff: "You bastard."
Ken charged at him next, but Jeff kicked him hard in the chest. He slammed into the wall and dropped like a ragdoll.
The club’s security stormed in seconds later. Jeff barked at them.
Jeff: "Call the cops. Get them out of here. Now."
The guards rushed to bind Jimmy and Ken as they groaned on the floor.
Jeff turned to Rico, who was half-conscious and trembling. Gently, he pulled Rico’s shirt closed and buttoned it up with shaking hands.
Jeff (softly): "I’m here now. You’re safe."
Without wasting another second, Jeff scooped Rico into his arms and carried him out of the room, past the stares and the noise, straight into the night.
