Sleeping With My Step Daddy -
Chapter 84: "Sweet Memories"
Chapter 84: "Sweet Memories"
The lunch meeting came to an end, and Reiji finally felt more relaxed after meeting Eden’s mom. As they stood together outside the restaurant, Lili looked at them with a smile.
Lili: "You both look so good together."
Reiji blushed slightly while Eden reached over and held his hand. Lili got into the car, rolling down the window before she left.
Lili (warmly): "Take care, my babies. We’ll meet again soon."
Reiji and Eden waved goodbye as the car pulled away. Once it disappeared from view, Eden turned to Reiji with a playful smile.
Eden: "So, what do you think of my mom?"
Reiji (smiling): "She’s so cool and sweet."
Eden chuckled, teasing him.
Eeden: "My bride was so shy in front of his mother-in-law."
Reiji (flustered): "Shut up—I wasn’t shy!"
Eden (grinning): "You were."
Reiji: "Was not."
Eden slipped his arm around Reiji’s waist, pulling him a little closer.
Eden: "You looked beautiful today."
Reiji quickly pushed him back, whispering in embarrassment.
Reiji: "Eden, we’re in public!"
Eden smirked, stepping closer again.
Eden: "So what? We’re a couple—and soon, we’ll be married."
Reiji (sighing): "Okay, but I really don’t feel comfortable in this suit..."
Eden (smirking): "Then let’s go to my place and take off all your clothes."
Reiji gave him a sharp glare.
Reiji: "Eden..."
Eden only grinned more, eyes gleaming with mischief.
Eden: "Please? Let’s go."
Before Reiji could answer, Eden took his hand and dragged him toward the car. Laughing and bickering, the two of them climbed in and drove off together.
At Kai’s office, Kai quickly adjusted his clothes, trying to fix the mess. He glanced around the meeting room—it was a disaster. Papers were scattered everywhere, and the table was still out of place. Bast, already wearing his coat, looked at Kai while fixing his tie.
Kai (frustrated): "You messed up the whole meeting room."
Bast gave him a teasing smile, stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around Kai’s waist, pulling him close.
Bast: "Should we go home?"
Kai: "Nope. I still have a lot of work to do."
Bast kissed him harder, holding him even closer.
Bast: "Baby, why are you stressing over work? I said just think about me."
A knock sounded at the door.
Kai (trying to push him away): "Bast, leave me."
Bast (refusing): "Nope. First, we go home, wash up... then we go to the boutique for our engagement suits."
Kai (sighing): "Okay. Now let go of me."
Bast (grinning): "Okay."
Kai (clearing his throat): "Come in."
The door opened, and Yuki stepped in with his usual professionalism. He bowed respectfully.
Yuki: "Sir Kai, you have a meeting scheduled now."
Kai: "Okay."
Bast (calmly): "Cancel it."
Yuki blinked, glancing at Kai for confirmation.
Yuki’s eyes shifted around the meeting room. Papers were scattered across the table, files knocked over—clearly something chaotic had happened. He thought to himself, Did Mr. Kai and his fiancé fight in here?
Kai, still catching his breath, spoke up.
Kai: "Yes, cancel all the meetings."
Yuki glanced at them both. Their clothes looked slightly wrinkled, collars loosened. Suspicion flickered across his face, but he quickly masked it with a polite bow.
Yuki: "Understood, Sir Kai."
He turned and left the room, confusion written all over his face as he walked down the hallway, still trying to figure out what had just happened.
Meanwhile, Bast grabbed Kai’s wrist gently.
Bast: "Let’s go."
Kai didn’t argue. He simply followed Bast out of the office, and together, they left the company.
After some time, Bast and Kai arrived at a luxurious hotel. Kai looked up at the entrance, then turned to Bast in confusion.
Kai: "Why are we here?"
Bast: "You really think we can just go home looking like this? What if your aunt sees us and asks why we both look... like that?"
Kai glanced at their reflections in the glass doors—disheveled clothes, flushed faces, marks that were hard to hide. He sighed.
Kai (murmuring): "Yeah... anyone could tell with just one glance that we had sex."
They stepped into Bast’s lavish suite. As soon as they entered, Bast slipped off his coat and shirt. Kai walked over to the bed and collapsed onto it with a long exhale.
Kai: "Ugh... I feel so tired."
Bast lay down beside him, gently reaching for his hand.
Bast: "Do you want a massage? I’ll give you the best one."
Kai looked over at him but shook his head.
Kai: "No, I’m okay. I need to take a shower."
He started to get up, but Bast grabbed his wrist and pulled him back down onto the bed, letting Kai fall softly against his chest.
Bast (softly): "Why are you ignoring me?"
Kai: "I’m not ignoring you."
Bast: "Then let’s do it again."
Kai: "Bast... I’m tired. Can we do it later?"
But Bast didn’t stop—he leaned in and kissed Kai, already starting to unbutton his shirt. Kai resisted weakly.
Kai: "Bast, why are you being so stubborn?"
Bast slowly slid Kai’s shirt off, his hands wrapping around Kai’s waist as he pressed gentle kisses down his back. But then—Kai flinched.
Kai: "Ahh... it hurts."
Bast immediately paused. His eyes darted to Kai’s back and widened when he saw a red scratch across his skin.
Bast (concerned): "What happened? How did this happen?"
Kai hesitated before replying.
Kai: "When we did it... on the meeting table. The corner hit my back."
Bast’s face fell. He quickly sat up, guilt washing over him.
Bast: "I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t realize I hurt you."
Kai: "It’s fine. It’s just a little scratch."
Bast: "No, it’s not okay. We should go to a doctor—"
Kai (smiling): "No need. It’s not serious."
Bast still looked distressed, but Kai reached up and gently held his face.
Kai (softly): "Really, it’s okay. You don’t have to worry."
Bast kissed his forehead and pulled him into a careful hug, still clearly feeling guilty—but thankful that Kai was alright.
Bast: "Let me wipe your body and apply ointment to your back."
Kai: "Bast..."
But Bast didn’t listen. He gently laid Kai down on the bed and walked to the side table. He grabbed a soft towel and a bowl of warm water, then returned to Kai’s side. Carefully, he began wiping Kai’s body with slow, delicate strokes.
Kai watched him in silence, his eyes locked on Bast’s serious expression.
Kai: "You don’t need to worry. I’m okay."
Bast: "After this... we’re only doing it properly—on a bed, on a soft mattress. I don’t want to hurt you again."
Kai let out a small smile.
Kai (teasing): "Okay, okay. You sound like a sad puppy."
Bast didn’t respond. He kept gently wiping Kai’s skin, his touch light and affectionate. Once he was done, he reached for a small container and carefully applied ointment to the red mark on Kai’s back.
Bast: "There. Now take some rest. We can go tomorrow to pick out our engagement suits."
Kai nodded quietly, touched by how tender Bast was being.
Bast: "I’m going to take a shower."
He leaned down and softly patted Kai’s head before walking toward the bathroom.
Kai stayed lying in bed, his heart warm, watching the man he loved disappear behind the bathroom door with quiet steps.
After some time, Bast came back from the bathroom, freshly showered. He walked out in silence, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, his hair damp and tousled. His eyes landed on the bed—Kai was already asleep.
A soft smile formed on Bast’s lips as he gazed at the peaceful figure lying there. Kai’s face, relaxed and innocent, looked just like it did years ago.
Bast (whispering to himself): "Still sleeps like he’s ten..."
He walked quietly to the bed and lay down beside him. Gently, he reached out and patted Kai’s head, brushing his hair back with care.
And then... the memories returned.

Flashback – After Jennifer’s Death: Kai’s 17th Birthday
Little Kai sat silently in his room, the lights dim. His eyes were red from crying, his arms wrapped tightly around his knees. It was his first birthday without his mom, and the silence felt colder than ever.
A gentle knock came on the door. Bast stepped in, holding a beautiful cake and a small wrapped present.
Bast (softly): "Happy birthday, Kai."
Kai didn’t even glance up.
Kai: "I don’t want to celebrate. Leave me alone."
Bast walked to him and sat beside him on the floor.
Bast: "I know you miss Jennifer... I miss her too. But if you’re happy, she’ll be happy too."
Kai (sniffling): "I don’t want to talk to you..."
Without a word, Bast gently pulled him into a hug.
Bast: "Let’s celebrate your birthday... You’re seventeen now. You’re growing up."
Kai’s arms didn’t move at first. But slowly, hesitantly... he hugged Bast back. His tears flowed silently, but his heart, even just a little, warmed.
It was the first time Kai held onto Bast like that.

Present Day
Bast lay beside Kai, gently stroking his hair.
Kai’s eyes slowly fluttered open.
Kai (sleepily): "Bast what Happened..?"
Bast (smiling): "Nothing.... just thinking."
Kai: "Thinking?"
Bast: "Some sweet memories."
Kai blinked, his voice soft.
Kai: "Sweet memories?"
Bast (nodding): "Yeah... sweet memories."
They didn’t say more. They didn’t need to.
Kai shifted closer, resting his head against Bast’s chest. Bast wrapped his arms around him. In that moment, the world faded, leaving only their warmth and love—just the two of them, holding each other, as if nothing else existed.
