Sleeping With My Step Daddy
Chapter 83: "In The Meeting Room"

Chapter 83: "In The Meeting Room"

Bast leaned in and kissed Kai without warning.

Kai’s hands pressed against his chest, trying to push him away.

Kai (angrily): "Bast, stop!"

Bast (holding him): "Why are you ignoring me? You didn’t answer my calls or messages. So I came here myself."

Kai: "I wasn’t ignoring you! I’m just busy! And besides—you seem busy too. With work... and your secrets. So go focus on that."

His voice trembled—not just with anger, but something deeper. Bast blinked, confused by the edge in Kai’s tone.

Bast: "Secrets? What are you talking about?"

Kai (coldly): "Don’t play dumb. Just leave me alone. I have too much work today."

He turned to walk away, but Bast grabbed his wrist and gently pulled him back.

Bast (firmly): "I never keep secrets from you, Kai."

Kai (furious): "You did, Bast. Don’t lie to me."

A moment of silence stretched between them before Bast finally sighed and cupped Kai’s face in his hands.

Bast (softly): "So that’s what this is about... You’re angry because I talked privately with Mr. Takeshi."

Kai’s expression flickered with pain, and this time, he forcefully shoved Bast away and stepped back.

Kai: "I don’t care. Do whatever you want."

He turned to leave—but Bast wouldn’t let him go. In one swift motion, Bast pulled him back and pressed their bodies close.

Bast (low and intense): "But I care."

Then he kissed Kai again—this time deeper, hungrier, desperate.

Kai’s fingers tightened on Bast’s shoulders, his breath catching in his throat. He didn’t pull away. Not this time.

Bast (whispering against his lips): "You want to do it too... don’t you?"

Kai’s flushed cheeks and heaving breath gave him away—he did. But his pride wouldn’t let him say it.

Bast didn’t wait. With a firm grip, he lifted Kai by the waist and set him down gently on the meeting table. Papers scattered and files tumbled to the floor, forgotten.

His lips found Kai’s neck, kissing, nipping—his hands already working to loosen Kai’s tie and unbutton his shirt with practiced ease. The heat between them surged.

Kai held on tightly, his breath unsteady as he melted into Bast’s touch—the warmth, the weight, the scent of him. Bast slipped off his coat, tossing it aside, and unfastened his own shirt.

Kai’s eyes lingered on him, dark with emotion and something deeper. He grabbed Bast’s loosened tie, tugging him close until their lips almost brushed.

Kai (in a low voice): "You did wrong... so you must be punished."

Bast’s lips curled into a grin.

Bast: "Then punish me, baby. I really want to see how rough you’ll go today."

Kai kissed him—hard and hungry, a kiss that made Bast groan against his mouth. Their bodies pressed together, the table creaking beneath them as passion escalated.

Kai (breathless): "What if someone comes in?"

Bast (smirking): "Then don’t moan too loud. If you do... the whole office will know exactly what we did."

He kissed Kai again before teasing his ear with his lips and a soft bite that sent shivers down Kai’s spine.

Bast (whispering): "You don’t have to hold back, Kai."

Kai’s eyes fluttered closed, overwhelmed by the warmth and intensity of Bast’s touch—wrapped in the love and madness only Bast could stir in him.

After some time...

The meeting room had fallen into a deep silence, the only sounds were their soft breaths and the distant hum of the office beyond the closed door. Bast sat on a chair at the head of the long table, his shirt half-unbuttoned and tie hanging loose around his neck. Kai, shirtless, sat curled on his lap—his body warm and marked with the lingering traces of their passion.

Bast gently held Kai by the waist, one hand running slowly up and down his back. With his other hand, he patted Kai’s head softly.

Bast (quietly): "Kai... I didn’t mean to keep anything from you."

Kai raised his head slightly, looking into Bast’s eyes.

Kai: "Then tell me... what were you and Dad talking about in private?"

Bast hesitated, then exhaled slowly. He looked at Kai seriously.

Bast: "It’s about your mom... Jennifer."

Kai’s eyes widened. His body tensed slightly, but he didn’t move away.

Bast: "I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to add to your stress. You’ve already been through enough."

Kai (softly): "You kept a secret from me... about my mom?"

Bast cupped Kai’s face with both hands, his thumbs gently brushing Kai’s cheeks.

Bast: "Kai... I was only trying to protect you. What we found out was heavy. Your mother didn’t leave Japan because she wanted to. She was being threatened... by debt collectors over her uncle’s loans. They scared her—said they’d hurt her and her son."

Kai’s breath hitched. His eyes shimmered with tears as the weight of those words sank in.

Kai (whispers): "She was... threatened? All this time..."

Bast nodded, his expression serious.

Bast: "But you don’t have to worry anymore. Takeshi and I... we already tracked them down. Those bastards will never hurt anyone again. They’re gone—like they never even existed."

Kai looked into Bast’s eyes, his own filling with silent pain. Slowly, he leaned in and rested his forehead against Bast’s shoulder. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

Bast wrapped his arms around him tighter, pressing his lips to the side of Kai’s head.

Bast (gently): "Don’t cry, baby... I’ve already punished them. You’re safe. I’ll always protect you."

Kai clung to him tightly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Kai: "Thank you... for everything."

In that moment, held safely in Bast’s arms, Kai let himself feel both the ache of the past and the relief of finally knowing the truth.

Meanwhile...

Eden pulled up in front of Reiji’s house and waited by the car. When Reiji finally stepped out, Eden’s eyes widened in surprise.

Reiji was dressed decently, neatly styled, looking far more refined than his usual laid-back self. It was the first time Eden had ever seen him like that.

Eden (softly, stunned): "You look... beautiful."

Reiji’s cheeks flushed pink. He quickly looked away, trying to hide his shyness.

Without another word, Eden walked over and opened the car door for him. Reiji slipped inside, still avoiding eye contact, but Eden couldn’t stop glancing at him from the driver’s seat.

Eden (smiling): "Are you nervous?"

Reiji (quietly): "A little bit."

Eden reached over and gently placed a hand on Reiji’s knee.

Eden: "Don’t worry. My mom’s really sweet. I’m sure you two will get along just fine. She’s actually super excited to meet you."

Reiji: "I’m excited too... but I don’t know if I’m... perfect enough."

Eden looked at him, gaze soft and steady.

Eden: "Reiji, I don’t care if you’re perfect or not. I only care that I love you, and you love me. That’s more than enough."

Reiji looked down, hiding the smile tugging at his lips. His heart beat faster, but Eden’s words gave him the comfort he needed.

After a short, quiet drive filled with stolen glances and shy smiles, they arrived at a beautiful restaurant bathed in soft afternoon light.

Reiji and Eden stepped into the restaurant, their steps light but nerves running high.

At the far end of the elegant dining room, a graceful woman sat alone at a table, sipping from a glass of water. As soon as her eyes met Eden’s, she stood with a smile. Her presence was warm, inviting.

Eden (smiling): "Mom."

Lili Edward, Eden’s mother, beamed brightly—then her eyes shifted to the boy beside her son.

Reiji’s face turned pink instantly. He had never imagined in his life that he’d have a boyfriend... let alone meet that boyfriend’s mother.

He bowed deeply in traditional Japanese style.

Reiji (nervously): "Hello. I’m Reiji."

Lili’s smile widened, her eyes sparkling.

Lili: "Oh my—how cute you are! Even cuter than I thought."

Reiji’s face turned bright red. He blinked in surprise when Lili stepped forward and gently hugged him.

Lili (warmly): "I’m so happy to finally meet you. I’m Lili Edward, Eden’s mom."

Reiji was a little stunned but touched by her kindness.

They sat down at the table together, but Reiji still looked down, his ears a glowing red.

Lili (gently): "Reiji, there’s no need to be nervous. You can think of me like your own mom. After all, we’ll be family soon, right?"

Reiji lifted his eyes, a soft, grateful smile spreading on his face.

Reiji (quietly): "Thank you..."

Eden reached across the table and gently took Reiji’s hand, giving it a soft pat to calm him down.

Eden (smiling): "Relax, love. You’re doing great."

Reiji squeezed his hand back, finally starting to feel a little more at ease.

The waiter arrived with their food, placing beautifully arranged dishes on the table. The three of them began eating, the atmosphere growing more comfortable as they chatted.

Lili smiled warmly, her eyes flicking between Eden and Reiji.

Lili (with a gentle smile): "After the marriage, what do you two think? Will you live in Japan, or come back to America?"

Eden looked at Reiji, his gaze soft.

Eden: "I’ll do what Reiji wants. If he’s okay with moving to America with me, then we’ll go. But if he’s not, I won’t force him."

Reiji glanced at Eden, touched by his words. His heart fluttered—Eden always gave him the freedom to choose.

Lili (smiling): "Reiji, I’d be really happy if you moved to America. Our family business is there, and after Eden’s graduation, I’ve decided to hand over all the responsibilities to him. But... if you don’t want to move, that’s perfectly okay too."

Reiji nodded slowly, his voice soft but sincere.

Reiji: "I’ll think about it."

Lili smiled again, respectful and understanding, while Eden gently squeezed Reiji’s hand under the table.
