Being his mate changes a lot of things he has prepared his life for, but he knew there was more to this fairy that meets the eye, maybe that was what Basker was trying to tell him. The old man was never straightforward, to begin with...

"I’m sorry for catching you off guard, I ended up endangering my life," she said in that sweet voice of hers and William was trapped, whenever he heard her voice he felt like he would succumb to her every will and that was considered odd for him... for he was a man of power who hold all knowledge in this entire universe at the palm of his hand, and yet by the very voice of his fairy, he felt like he would fall to knees, he clearly knew the powers that laid in her voice but that wasn’t the case for he has sealed it.

So this was purely the response her voice made to his body. How interesting...

"I was harsh," he said remembering the tears that spilled from her eyes because of him, it caused his beast to frustrate him all through the night or maybe it was him being frustrated at how careless she was. "I’m... sorry" It felt odd saying it and he even kept a puzzled expression when he did, it was the first he had said such words, he knew this was normally said when there was a misunderstanding but he has never quite understood the word for he has never had a use for it.

Once again his fairy was making him do things he shouldn’t.

Was it a good thing or a bad thing?

I was unable to look away from him because with every gesture I was left captivated, I have always known his blank mask. I didn’t know what to make of this but I liked it. I liked that I was finally able to see his face and maybe now I can read him better. But no... His face was just as blank! Only when he seemed to be in thought or puzzled about something does his expression change. But yet it was better than nothing... right? And then a thought crossed me.

"D-Does this mean there is no need for your mask?" I asked with hope. Maybe I sounded too hopeful but I am eager to know.

"It’s part of me, it’s..." he trailed like a thought. "...Strange not having it on"

"Oh," I said in a downhearted tone.

I felt his hand beneath my chin and my gaze lifted back to his and a chill found my body.

"Do you not want me to wear it anymore?"

There was a pause, a long one but mostly from me, I knew I didn’t want him to do anything that was inconvenient for him, he had worn this particular mask for so long and it was a keepsake from his mentor. But I was selfish and I couldn’t help it right now.

So I nodded.

"If that is what you wish"

I gasped when the mask exploded in shiny lights.

"But the mask is important to you!"

"Relax, I did not destroy it..." he said dryly.

I sighed in relief, that was pretty selfish of me, I blushed, does this mean I get to see his face every day now? This felt like a dream! Was this even real?

"Now Ava"

"Hmm?" I darted my eyes to his orbs and I was lost in them once again, they were just so stunning.

He raised the book and my smile suddenly vanished.

"I believe you have something to learn"

I quickly took the book from his grip. "T-There’s no need!" I said as quickly as I could as my cheeks heated. "This was only to grab your attention for I knew you won’t speak to me otherwise"

He raised an eyebrow at my words.

And I shut my mouth feeling like I’m in trouble, it was strange how I knew I was with just one look from him. He took the book from me.

"Remember what I told you Ava... you have to finish what you started" A smirk played on his lips and it was the most attractive thing I have ever seen! The way it played on his lips... was so satisfying. Too engrossed with it I didn’t realize when he picked me up and settled me back into my chair. The height difference was clear once again and I had to look up at him.

"You want me to teach you don’t you?" he dropped the book before me. "Now read if there is anything you don’t understand I will teach you... that is what you want isn’t it?"

I darted my eyes to the book because any more look from him I would pass out, the movement of his lips as he talked was just too disturbing and it wasn’t helping this mess I got myself into.

"And we will experiment when there is a need"

I froze because he said those words directly to my ears and my cheeks heated more. The sound of his voice close to my ear was chilling to my body, and the hot breath washed upon it caused the helix of my ear to redden, I could feel it heating up.

I should have known what I was getting myself into when I brought this book as a means to gain his attention now it seemed like I was gaining more than I can bear.

Seeing there was no way I could escape William’s interest I slowly opened the book, the first page had the same picture the book cover had, the illustration of two people kissing, but this was more defined, I could see their hands circling each other. I gulped as I continued to stare at the sinful image. Their lips connected, and the long line of the male’s hand gripped the female tightly.

"Are you confused, Ava"

I turned my eyes to William who was staring down at me, a smirk still playing on his lips, it wasn’t an amusement but a gesture... one I could feel he was enjoying this...
