Chapter 35: Her Voice

Chapter 35: Her Voice

I released my legs to lay properly on the bed and she hopped on my lap and just laid on her stomach. She was so tiny and fit in perfectly like a baby. She turned to me and gave me a big smile, I could not resist any longer as I patted her head gently, she purred, closing her eyes, the sound was so cute!!!!

This was soothing and it gave me peace to see a small creature like her purr ever so gently. She’s a treasure, I was mistaken when I thought of her only as a rude brat but she is actually quite charming.

After several rounds of her purring, she was fast asleep and I was getting dizzy myself so I gently moved her to the bed as she continued to suck her thumb in her sleep and murmur words I can’t even make out.

Halfway sleepy I smiled as I used the covers on both of us and lay next to her, sleep instantly engulfed me, a sweet comfortable one, and halfway through my senses I heard the door open but I was too weary to open my eyes, so I shut my senses. It might just be Elvenia again.

William was back in his chambers, his run took longer than expected but it was exactly what he needed for he was more comfortable in that form whenever he couldn’t free his mind. On a normal day cataloging new knowledge took much of his time and energy but that was nothing he couldn’t handle, so he set up a habit for himself, whenever he was mentally drained he would set his beast loose and allow it to wander in the wild.

But he wasn’t mentally drained from work at the Library, but a certain Fairy was messing with his thoughts, just like he predicted this puzzle wasn’t something he could solve, she was quite complicated in every way, especially when her feature shows several emotions in one minute.

Hoping to see dim brown eyes piercing his very mind he met with a sleeping Ava and Sophia. She must have snuck in here again, he pondered if he should move her away but seeing the position the two were in it was out of the question.

Ava was cuddling Sophia tightly and she was comfortable with it, and then there was a spark, a sensation that suddenly built up... something within seeing Ava’s hands around the fox.

’I must be losing my mind or is that Jealousy I feel?’ he thought to himself, he didn’t know what to make of it and he wasn’t bothering to find out, he had enough in his head already, and yet another seemed to be approaching.

Ava is messing with his intelligent mind, not a professional thing for a man of knowledge to think, but it was out of the question... without her even trying she was spinning his mind or maybe he was too weak to shield himself from feeling such an unwanted thing. Truly annoying... no one said having a mate would be a handful. It was unnerving but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t fascinated, oh yes that was one thing that struck him.

He was fascinated to see how much she would spin him and if he would bend to her will but he doubts that... he’s not easily swayed by such things.

Centuries of caring for this library haven’t fazed him, so why should she?

His eyes darted to Ava’s figures... she can’t. But yet William couldn’t look away from her sleeping form like he was bewitched, he has another habit now, of monitoring each sound of her heartbeat and how every breath she took.

Maybe another run in the wild was what he needed...

I never thought walking on my own two feet again would make me happy, I was full of energy and I couldn’t wait to get anything done. I have spent days in bed and being nursed back to health and now I would resume my studies in the library. I never thought I would be happy about that, but I guess trying something different for a change was okay and satisfying.

I was becoming suddenly eager about the next book or knowledge I would take an interest in and what else I would learn and grab interest in.

it seems like the whole month I spent on my task got me infested with books. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

"You look happy this morning, young miss," Severus said amused.

I faced him with a smile on my lips nodding my head. I noticed he looked surprised by my gesture but then his broad smile returned to his lips and I noticed how his hazels glittered along with it. They were a beautiful set of colors that almost seemed impossible.

"It’s nice to see you full of energy" he mused. "Master has instructed you to learn more on your pronunciations with words"

I stopped abruptly and he faced me. "It’s alright I know you can speak and I understand," he says.

I leveled my gaze, I was hoping to get another scolding about lying to the master but nothing came.

"Oh and also Master has given the order, you can talk to us if you want"

I paused. I can?

"But-" I quickly shut my mouth remembering Elvenia’s words about my voice being deadly or alluring if I don’t control it.

"Ha yes about the power your voice holds... it didn’t have much effect in the Mortal Realm for you were not in the place of magic... but now you’re here the power your voice holds triggered, I must say it was a good thing you remained mute" he explains. "The Master has sorted it out though, it appears when you only spoke with him he was casting a spell to seal the intense power your voice has, so now you can speak as freely as you like with no worries"

I gasped, William did that... for me?
