Chapter 195: Estel ~ Awakening {1}
10 Years Later

"Is this really okay here?" I asked my husband for the 12th time. And he only replied with a ’hmm’.
I placed the frozen block of Grimoire into the shelf making sure it was properly placed, I think this was the last of it. I sighed, turning to face William, watching as his fingers traced the writings in the books before using his quill to note something down.
Over the years I was able to assist William in the Northern wing, the workload here was very exhausting and the Grimoires here needed careful concentration and any mistake would lead to something very drastic... as the years pass William taught me everything I needed to know here, how to turn off my aura so that Grimoires doesn’t leech over it, they have the habit of doing those.
I always want to be more supportive of William as best as I could.
"It’s been one week," I said, already coming down the ladder. "I already miss Estel"
William instantly paused in his writing and a smile found his lips. "It’s morning over there now... You know how sluggish she gets in the mornings"
I giggled. "Elvenia has to wake her a number of times before she can get her out of bed" I mused.
"Ever since I sealed her aura, her energies in the mornings are usually weak, but once it clocks the afternoon she’s very energetic"
"And mostly at night too" I add, taking my seat in front of the table.
William chuckled with a shake of his head. "Don’t worry my love, we will see her this evening, let’s hope she finishes the assignments given to her"
I rolled my eyes. "Or she’s out playing with Sophia, those two are a mischief, and they live to torment Elvenia"

The birds could be heard chirping loudly from the window, all colorful and making various noises, and singing into the bright skies. The doors to the chambers instantly barge open.
"Rise and shine young miss, don’t tell me you’re still sleeping," Elvenia said already walking to the window to zap it open making the harsh light come through and a groan could be heard from the bed, Elvenia twirled to it, sighing as she saw the blanket covering her entirely.
"Still sleeping?" she said, tucking some strands of her orange-blond hair behind her pointy ears.
Getting a groan as a reply, she rolled her head and walked to the foot of the bed. "I will count to 3 if you do not get up I will shake this bed until you fall out of it"
The movement was fast before her obsidian eyes as the pile of blankets moved and dropped to the floor.
"Every single time" Elvenia mumbled, walking to the fallen blanket and squatting right in front of it before flapping it off revealing Estel. Her eyes are half open and you could barely see her vermilion eyes as she rubbed them with the back of her hands, her bed hair was the worst too, piled up in all angles and puffed out like a mountain of hair.
"Morning Elvenia," Estel said in her sweet voice before yawning so loudly with her little mouth.
Elvenia shook her head knowing she was usually always sluggish in the mornings because of her sealed-off aura.
"Now come on, time to get ready"
"5 more minutes" she pouted, already wrapping the blanket around her to go for another sleep.
"Oh no you don’t" Elvenia took her hand and helped her up and feet. "No more sleep, you will be late"
Elvenia practically dragged Estel to the bath, and as sluggish as Estel was in the morning, Elvenia had to bathe every inch of her. Estel has always been like this, her aura was the weakest in the mornings to the point she can’t walk by herself in that period of time, her energy even though powerful like a beacon was just as imbalanced and William had no choice but to seal a part of it... hence the side effect.
Estel sat in front of the dressing mirror as Elvenia braided her long amber hair kept at knee length, she was practically dozing as Elvenia worked her way through her hair.
"All done, now shoes"
Estel frowned, shaking her head. "My feet need to breathe" she intoned.
Elvenia rolled her eyes. "First you’re a lady and you have to be in shoes," she said leaving no room for argument as the shoes were forced into her little feet.
Making sure Estel was properly dressed in her purple slender velvet gown she was led out of her chambers.
Estel, still sluggish as always, tried to keep up on her feet although her head was nodding every now and then like she would fall off from sleep any minute.
She was led to the dining hall with enough food to fill her stomach Estel slowly ate and Elvenia made sure she ate quite a number of food until she was satisfied.
☆☆☆
"Morning Severus" Estel greeted with a sluggish smile on her lips.
"Morning young miss, whoa easily!" he called out when she almost tripped.
"I told Elvenia my feet need to breathe," Estel said, yawning once again with tears in the corner of her eyes, already taking off her shoes. She grinned walking to her father’s office, dropping the shoes under the table and taking her seat on the big chair.
Severus with a smile on his lips watched as the young miss went about writing but as expected her forehead slammed on the book.
"Always in the mornings" he chuckled, walking up to the table and poking her head earning a groan from Estel.
"Come on now, you know why we work you so much in the mornings, you need to gather your energy properly, if we leave you to leave like this it will be harmful"
Estel raised her head and yawned again, getting to writing but her eyes remained half closed, dozing every minute but coming back awake.
Severus went back to complete his work making sure he kept his eye on the young miss, and after some hours engaging in keeping the books in the order he walked back to the office and paused when he saw Estel was missing.
"Not again"
Every time in the middle of her morning lessons, she disappears when he takes one eye off her. He wonders how she leaves so fast with those little legs of hers, and wasn’t she supposed to be sluggish in the mornings?
☆☆☆
Estel slowly opened her eyes and found a dragonfly on her nose, she sneezed and it flew off. She yawned before stretching and she sat up abruptly feeling her energy building up.
It must be afternoon.
"ESTEL!!!!!"
"Hmm?" She turned her head to Sophia rushing towards her on all fours and Estel’s features instantly lit up when she saw her best friend.
"Sophia!" she called in her tiny voice.
Sophia came to a halt and finally took a breather and then pointed at Estel. "You ran away from your morning lessons to sleep didn’t you?"
"Shh!" Estel hushed her.
Sophia grinned, folding her arms and having a smug look on her face. "As your bestie, I know exactly where you go to sleep, under this big tree just at the cliff"
"Yes yes, as my bestie you know everything, cutie" Estel mused scratching the back of her brown fox ears, she made purring sounds but she quickly snapped out of it and pulled away.
"Where’s the respect? I’m older than you!"
Estel giggled. "And yet we’re the same height," she teased.
"Hmph! I grow slowly you know... that doesn’t mean I’m not as twice as older than you’re"
"I know I know" she giggled once again before turning her vermilion eyes to the view of the Elven Woods, it was at this cliff she got to see the wonderful view. "I love finishing my morning sleep here because it has the best view," she said, taking a deep whiff of the air like it was life to her.
She was suddenly reminded of when her mother took her on an outing to the Elven Woods and they met many magical creatures, that day lived in her head rent-free. They rarely descend the mountains so that day was always special for her, she couldn’t wait for another outing.
What’s more, she can’t wait to see her mother and father. They would be free from work this evening and she couldn’t be more excited.

I was finally able to have a breather after stepping out of the door leading to the Heart of the Library. William still had little work to do so I left first. It will take a while before we will be this consumed in work in the Northern Library once again and we both promise to make it up to Estel as best as we can.
"Welcome back young miss," Severus said with a bow.
"Evening Severus, and Estel?"
"Retired to her chambers already, although she spent most of her time playing with Sophia other than her lessons"
Ha... I expected that much.
I wasted no time heading to her chambers eager to see my sweet baby girl. I got to her door when I heard a scream. Panic flooded through me as I rushed into the room.
"ESTEL!"
I was heaving as my eyes scanned and landed on where she stood backing me with the mirror smashed to pieces on the floor.
"Mother" she said before facing me. And my heart momentarily stopped when I saw what lay before me.
Estel was bleeding from her eyes.
