SILVER-HEART -
Chapter 194: Dancing In The Rain
Chapter 194: Dancing In The Rain
William is the medicine to my nightmares, but I was still afraid to close my eyes because Silver orbs will haunt my dreams. Sometimes I wished Adina never restored my sleep, then maybe I wouldn’t have to dream about it, how selfish of me.
Right now I just pass the time by watching my husband and daughter sleep, with William cuddling her. I traced his silver gently with a smile on my lips before using the blanket to cover them more. It was such a sweet sight, for I rarely get to see William’s sleeping features, I was glad he was giving in to sleep now, it suits him.
I got off the bed and walked out of the chambers making sure the door closed gently, I knew sleep was the last thing on my mind right now and I knew the place I should be... the Library. The lobby was illuminated by lit torches leading all the way to the library, so I didn’t have a hard time finding it in my darkness, well if there weren’t any lit torches my sharp elven eyes could get me there.
Walking through the library doors the smell of books filled my nose and I inhaled sharply, it smells like home too, I knew why I have a certain closure to this place from the very beginning, I was the one who created it after all, I made this place come into existence to safeguard dangerous knowledge and also a safe keep to the world, the Holy Library brings out that order of things, let say it was the center of the universe too, a place that connects all.
The very bedrock of Magical existence.
I helped myself to catalog the new knowledge, it was easier to do on my own now since I always assist William with it, he caught me everything I know and right now sitting on his seat and marking out things with the quill gave me a sense of comfort, a smile on my lips as I went through every work.
This wasn’t considered stressful for me because I took pleasure in doing this, maybe I should consider it a hobby other than a duty, it would be the perfect explanation for it.
After cataloging a mountain of books I walked to the shelves with the books following behind me, and as I mumbled where they would go they listened and followed suit. There was much work here just like the Northern Wing but that place was reserved solely for William, that place only listens to him because he was the heart of the library, so I wasn’t much help for my husband there.
And it pains me when he spends weeks there, Estel misses him during those periods, but William always makes sure he makes it up to her by spending quality time with us and leaving Severus to handle the rest of the work in the library.
There were challenges sometimes because of the Library work and because of William’s state, I spend most of the time here, which is why Estel is always with Sophia and Elvenia all the time. But we make it work and as William always says we will do it together and it was always true to his words. I’m glad we are able to make this work, honestly.
I still can’t believe I’m a mother... and Estel, oh my sweet Estel, she is growing so fast, just days ago she started walking and it felt like it was only yesterday I just gave birth to her.
I guess they take their time in the womb but the moment they pop out they bend time and grow so fast. And her giggles were the sweetest, and I can’t wait to hear her call me mother and William, father. I was surely anticipating that.
I climbed up the iron stairs and dropped the last of the books I have cataloged and I climbed back down before looking at the magical ceiling showing millions of stars, such amazing few.
I gasped when arms suddenly wrapped around my back and feeling the certain cold and warmth, a smile found my lips.
"There you are," William mumbled to my ear.
"Estel?"
"Elvenia is watching her"
"I was only here you know... there is no need to worry"
"Working so late? I’m hurt because this is my work"
I twirled to him and placed my hands on his shoulder allowing my tiptoe to touch the floor.
"OUR work" I corrected. "Together, remember?"
A smile found his lips but it was faint.
"Is something wrong?"
"I thought you disappeared again"
"Well too bad, I’m bound here now... by your side, and because of my handsome fox I can’t go anywhere" I mused.
"You’re not a prisoner"
"But I’m a prisoner to your heart am I not?" I teased, poking his chest, he chuckled at my words, the sound was enough to bring warmth to my chest, and each time he did that I got a peek at his canine fangs I love so much.
"Then I’m a prisoner too"
"Both prisoners, sounds good," I said, brushing my nose against his, something he normally does to me when he’s in his fox form. It was so cute too.
I yelped when I was hoisted up and I eagerly wrapped my legs around his waist, with a smile on my lips I leaned in to give him a kiss but the sudden thunder strike broke us apart.
"Thunder?" I said looking up at the ceiling and seeing the lightning strikes.
"Seems like it will finally rain"
"But I thought it never rains in this dimension"
"Just once in a while"
"Once?" I said dumbfounded, in Aethel it was always the warm weather and I never got the chance to experience rain until the mortal Realm... but that was a long time ago.
"Want to go outside?" William asked me after a minute of silence.
"We can?" I bit my bottom lip, a silly question for me to ask.
"Of course" he mused, letting me down. "I have a feeling you want to"
I giggled already running ahead.
"Ava!" I heard him call but I was fast on my feet as I dashed out of the library and straight down the stairs and to the front door and it spread open in my presence.
I stood just at the door with my chest heaving and then I turned to William who was already coming behind me.
"So eager," he teased.
I grinned, grabbed his hand, and dragged him out of the door with me and we stepped into the now falling rain.
"I missed this!" I yelled twirling in the rain, with my head up to the skies allowing the drops to fall on my face, and it was the most refreshing feeling ever!

William was blessed with the sounds of her giggles and twirls, she sounded so happy and William knew without a fact she loves the rain. He stood there with a smile on his lips, feeling as her aura danced around.
How he wished he could see her right now and the joy she brings with every laughter that left her lips, the way she would dance around, the sounds of her feet on the platform now wet from the rain and William could only imagine.
He imagined her nightgown now drenched from the rain, and sticking to her naked body beneath, her long amber hair now damped from the rain and sticking to her face and her back too. Her arms spread out as she allows the rain to caress her skin, the same action in the past when he brought her down the mountain to the Elven woods, back then when she was just a Fairy. The excitement as she breathed into the air.
He knew without a doubt it would be the same action and he remembered how exactly his heart melted when he saw such a beautiful sight, a sight that lay imprinted in his memory, and right now... he added it up to the one he could not see unfold before him. And just for a glimpse with his imagination running wild, he could actually see her dancing in the rain like the beautiful creature she is.
His beautiful, beautiful wife, his Ava.
He suddenly heard her footsteps approaching him, making a tapping sound because of the wet platform.
"Dance with me, husband," she said softly as she placed her feet on his, allowing her to gain a little height. William placed a hand on her waist, and she placed hers on his shoulders.
And then William moved to a nonexistent rhythm and just like that they danced slowly under the rain, savoring the moment as their bodies got drenched but they were least bothered about it, just the feeling of being in each other’s arms.
"I love you," William said as they came to a stop.
He felt her hand move to the back of his head and undid the knot of the white material covering his eyes and the blindfold slid off revealing his void eyes.
She caressed his cheeks gently and William could feel her looking into his very soul, a soul that belongs to this woman in his arms, a woman that was never meant to be his soulmate but because of their unfathomed feelings that grew between them, they defied that law itself.
"I love you"
And then their lips sealed under the pouring rain.
