Chapter 193: Sweet Moments
¤●¤
William hasn’t said much ever since we had that discussion, he has been awfully quiet ever since, and sometimes just sitting there in deep thoughts without working. I have been assisting him in the library all the time so I knew that much.
I knew bringing that topic up will be really sensitive for him, he has spent most of his life searching for a Fairy and now his goals are met. I knew the next step would be the hardest for him.
He told me once he was fulfilling this prophecy mainly because it was a duty given to him and that it wasn’t his true desire, he has never truly sorted his parents before, and I understand him completely, he has never met them before and I get why he thought that way.
I knew he was upset even though he didn’t show it, I knew he was upset that his parents sealed his fate to this library.
The sound of Estel’s tapping caught my attention and I leveled my eyes on my baby girl already crawling her way on the floor.
"Estel," I said, grabbing her and she giggled and smiled before sucking her thumb. Ever since Estel discovered what crawling meant she has taken the liberty of exploring the entire library, I wasn’t so sure there wasn’t any place she hasn’t crawled to. I guess it was the age now, she is 7 months after all.
Keep her one place and then the next moment she was already crawling her way to the library, I wonder how she does it though. There was a time I was sewing a new outfit for her and I was certain I had my eyes on her but before I could look once again she was gone.
I panicked that very day and it was a day I will never forget. After Elvenia and I have searched the entire ground, it turns out she has crawled her way to the library and with William, under his table to be exact. I nearly had a heart attack, ever since then, I made sure to keep my eyes on her.
Also, the relationship between her and Sophia was a rocky one at first, Sophia was simply jealous she was getting all the attention and whenever I said she should carry Estel she instantly declined. I almost laughed recalling when Estel grabbed her tail and she screamed. Gods that memory will live in my head rent-free.
But strangely they have gotten quite close, even though Sophia is too proud to admit it, I knew she cared because there was a time I found Sophia asleep in Estel’s crib, both cuddling each other and I couldn’t find it in my heart to move them apart, so I just covered them with the blanket. And that particular heartfelt moment has happened quite a lot.
Their relationship was so cute.
"Let’s go meet Papa, okay?" I said raining kisses on her chubby face and she giggled. Her amber hair was thick and full on her hair, and all curly and her eyes were the brightest vermilion. My beautiful baby girl.
I cradled her in my arms as I walked out of the library and out of the mansion to the garden, spotting William waiting for us at the patio on the pond, he planned a little picnic there.
A smile on my lips as I approached William and hearing our footsteps Willaim raised his head and a smile found his lips.
Estel instantly spread out her arms to him and William took her in his arms and she happily climbed on her papa, she was always more active with her father and I would just watch their little interaction, even though William doesn’t know what she says he just follows on.
And Estel has taken a liking to his hair too, she always has a habit of wrapping her body around it.
"Where did you find her again?" William muses holding her firm so that she wouldn’t fall down from his shoulders she was now climbing with her little arms and feet.
I sighed, taking a seat. "The Library again, I think she has wandered places that I don’t even know about"
"I see"
Estel giggled as if she knew what we were saying and William placed her down on the blanket spread out on the floor and she tapped her hands on the open basket.
"She’s growing so fast" William mused rubbing her hand. "Her aura is getting stronger"
I could feel it too and it was just at a tender age, that was how we were able to find her most time if she ended up crawling to a far place, her aura was like a beacon and I suggested to William that we should seal it off but William said it wasn’t time yet and that the process might harm her body, so we were waiting until she matures more.
I kept my eyes on William with a smile on my lips, watching as Estel licked his hand he offered to her before holding it firm and tapping her little hand on it making baby noises.
"Shall we take a walk? Estel seems to be energetic"
"Of course"
With a single lift earning a yelp and then laughter from Estel, William placed her on his shoulder and she happily held his head for support and then we strolled to the garden, with Estel laughing the entire time.
My hand tightly locked on William’s as she explored the wide land and then the greenhouse together allowing Estel to see everything and she laughed and laughed the entire time.
William was able to move around freely and not by his ears only... he was able to sense the aura of everything and it basically became a second eye for him, If it wasn’t for the white cloth covering his eyes it was hard to tell he was blind.
But the only thing I wish for was a chance to see how beautiful Estel grows each day, sometimes I get sad to the point silent tears fall from my eyes and each time William would notice and tells me everything is okay and this was his happiest moment and it was more than anything he could ever wish for.
Our family was whole again... even when we thought it wouldn’t be possible when we thought all hope was lost, and that our destiny will never be intertwined, but yet here we are together and whole again, with flaws but it’s our flaws that make us.
And having Estel in our life makes everything bright and joyful, a mere smile lights our day each time, and makes everything whole. I knew as she grows her connection will be just as powerful and I knew when that time reaches we will handle it together and William will come to terms with his past... I believe that because even though not spoken, William wanted nothing more than to meet his parents and Estel will pave that way and I will be by his side all through it.
I once knew I can’t remain in a world that has no William, and it still remains the same, William is the only one who completes me and who I shall live for, and the same with Estel too.
That is why watching little interactions between my husband and my daughter was a blessing, surprisingly William has such a soft side to him and his smile never fades whenever we are beside him.
William was the happiest when Estel did her first walk to him, he didn’t stop praising her that day, even as her little feet ran around the library and she would play hide and seek with her father. Even when she thought she wasn’t looking he could always feel her, even from a mile away.
William began sleeping too, either he falls asleep with his head on my lap as I gently caress his hair or when I would walk into William with Estel asleep in his arms, both out like a light, at least now I knew where she took that deep sleeping habit from, they were both identical in that aspect and I would just sit there watching the two most important people in my life.
In the past months, I have been afraid to sleep because of the nightmares I had to relive, my time in Aethel, even though it was in the past it still haunts me, but as time passes I rarely get any nightmares because William was always beside me all through it, always there when I awoke and screaming for help and telling Aldon to leave me alone and William would hold me in his arms and tell me everything was okay that Aldon was gone and nothing will happen to me as long as he was here.
That was my medicine to my nightmares and I was glad it was slowly stopping but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t afraid to shut my eyes... because I am.
