Chapter 185: The Book Of Summons

"A-A deal with the god of the underworld?" I couldn’t believe my ears.

Was that even possible?

"I had no choice Ava... it was the only way. If I haven’t done it then there was no way I could have imprisoned Aldon in it"

I gulped. "B-But William... we don’t meddle with the underworld"

I clearly remember my time on the Isle of Pathways. Aldon and I being the first magical beings... We saw many things but never saw who was in charge of the Underworld, who came into existence and led the underworld souls

There were laws of the Magical Realms and one of them was not to meddle with Hell or death. A magical being can’t raise the dead and can’t bargain with it, if a death is meant to be it happens, even though as gods we live immortal lives but when it’s our time nothing can stop it.

Then how was it possible William was able to make a deal with a god of the Underground? A god we knew nothing about... We simply knew that the deity was one who controls all death and the souls that burn there, and the deity has no ties with the living world.

The law applies to this deity too. So why would that god make a deal with William?

"Tell me everything," I said softly, eager to know. I need to know what my husband has gotten himself into.

William gulped and I knew he was hesitant. But I cupped him to make sure he faces me.

"I need to know, please..."

"When I found out you were pregnant I figured it out... I knew no doubt your connection with Aldon will be weakened, and it was Estel who was trying to connect us and I knew her birth will connect me to Aethel"

He figured this all out when he found out I was pregnant. I couldn’t help a smile that found my lips... then again it was William, I knew he would deduce that much.

"But there was no point in coming to your rescue without anything against Aldon" , his teeth clenched.

And I knew just exactly what he meant.

"Our lifeline is connected"

He nodded. "So I thought of a solution..."

ONE MONTH EARLIER

William and Severus stepped into the Northern wing library.

"Master, are you sure about this?" Severus has asked him this particular question ever since William came to a conclusion.

"Ava’s lifeline is connected to Aldon’s and as much as I would love to rip him to pieces I can’t. Ava will die too and she will only be reincarnated just to be bound to him again. Fucking curse!"

Severus gulped, he understood everything, months ago they found out Ava was pregnant and William sorted ways to destroy Aldon without harming Ava. But what much could they do when their lifeline was connected?

Until today...

William placed the red thick covered book on his desk.

"The Book of Summons, second to the Dark Grimoire and the most forbidden of spells lies within, things that should be kept away from even the wisest hands, even in mine it is dangerous," William said.

"If it’s second to the Dark Grimoire then it must contain these spells already right?"

William shook his head. "The Dark Grimoire doesn’t contain any spells from here, it is the very knowledge that should remain sealed because it defies the laws of the Realms" William explained, if he had his memory of his past earlier... if he never forgot about Ava at the beginning, then it would still be the same case... William would have still sorted this book.

"What do you intend to summon?"

"Even if Aldon can’t be destroyed, that doesn’t mean I can’t trap him in Hell"

"You mean..." Severus’ eyes went wide.

"I intend to summon Hades, god of the underworld"

"But Master, no gods or magical being has ever meddled with the underworld affair, it is against the laws of the Realms!"

"This book breaks that fact, it was deeply sealed here. Listen to me Severus... what is the point of having all this knowledge if I can’t do a single thing?" he raised the book. "This is my answer and the way I will save my wife and unborn child. I do not care what price I have to pay and I do not care if I give up my soul, the library can crumble for all I care" he finalized rounding the table and walking away.

Severus said nothing knowing nothing can sway his mind right now... there were no words of wisdom he could offer and change his mind, for his master was hell-bent on saving his wife and child and nothing else matters.

"I’m with you until the end... Master" he pledged, this was for his Lady’s sake too.

William and Severus now stood at the center of the library.

The book levitated off William’s grip as the red pages of the book flipped in speed. William sank his fangs in his wrist as blood spilled from it, he controlled the flow of it until he drew the Hades symbol with his blood.

"This is a bad idea" Severus mumbled, already shaken but nevertheless he stood by his master.

William chants the spell in an ancient language and the symbol on the floor beamed a bright crimson but instantly the flipping pages of the Grimoire ceased and the once beaming crimson symbol of his blood turned black.

William inhaled sharply, opened his eyes and he looked around. "Severus,’’ he turned to his Butler but he was simply frozen in time.

No, it wasn’t just that... Time has paused itself, every single thing and William was the only one breathing.

The skies outside which were once bright were now pitch black and suddenly William heard the flipping of pages, it echoed amidst the entire silent environment and he followed the sound, the echo of his shoes resonating around the library.

William made a turn and set his eyes on his office... but it wasn’t an empty chair, someone sat on it.
