Chapter 153: The Story Of Yin And The Fox Guardian {1}
William stood blinking, his hand holding onto thin air, rubbing his fingers together he stared at them intensively. What was he doing here again? Was he speaking to someone? He cannot remember anything nor why he was standing in the middle of nowhere.
Shrugging the feeling off he walked away.
In the distance, Aveline watches William retreating with sad eyes, her face in a frown and her lips in a pout. The moment she told him her name, he just stared at her blankly.
"What language is that?"
She remembered him asking before realizing she had told him her name in Elven language. And as usual, she panicked feeling suddenly flushed as she ran away.
What was the point of coming out of the barrier? Without being able to speak to anyone, and even if she did they would forget her the moment she walks away. Sad, Aveline left the Elven woods in tears.

"What’s wrong Aveline?"
She heard Aldon’s voice and she peeked from the top tree she relaxed on. "N-Nothing" she mumbled.
A smile found Aldon’s lips. "Do you miss me that much? I’m sorry Aveline but the Elders are not giving me much break, I will try to find a free day so that we can spend time together"
"Focus on your studies, Aldon, I don’t want to be the cause that you will lose concentration, mother will scold me!"
He suddenly frowned. "Mother scolds you?"
Aveline only nodded hiding back in the tree, she heard a sigh and noticed Aldon was climbing to the top.
"Aldon!" she panicked, what was he doing? He will be late!
He sat next to her. "Talk to me, Aveline"
"It’s nothing really Aldon, it’s just you know how clingy I get sometimes, I always follow you everywhere, even when you meet the elders and that is disrespect, the other day I did it Mother scold me and told me to be more independent," She said fiddling with her fingers a habit of hers when she was nervous.
"She said that?"
Aveline only nodded.
"Aveline" he began gently and he placed a hand on her waist and pulled her close to him and she buried her face in his chest.
"I don’t think you’re clingy or independent"
But he’s wrong, for the past 7 years they were inseparable, did everything together, and took baths together, where there was Aveline there was always Aldon, and vice versa. This lesson with the elders got them separated a bit. That was why Aveline felt lonely because her friends here always teased her about her relationship with Aldon, even though she was royalty but that didn’t stop the bullies.
And that was why she secretly sneaked out of the barrier when she found a loophole and ventured into the Elven woods. But she can’t tell Aldon that he will get angry.
She doesn’t want him to be angry again, because one day she got him upset when she slept off in her own room, they always sleep in the same bed and it was almost like a ritual. Aldon was furious that day and she kept telling him that she was sorry and he punished her by locking her in the cupboard for hours. She was scared throughout and she never wants to experience that again.
She never wants to get Aldon angry.
"B-but you may be wrong, Alwin and others says we’re obsessed with each other"
"Alwin?"
She only nods.
"Do not worry Aveline, they won’t bother you again. In fact, I have heard rumors that some of the others bully you, I just needed to know a name from you, thank you for telling me Aveline, now..." he placed hands on her shoulder parting their bodies so that he would look at her, a smile on his lips. "Tell me the other’s names"
"W-What will you do?" Aveline asked, puzzled.
"I will let them know just how much I care about you," he shrugged. "Trust me Aveline just a scolding will stop them"
"T-They won’t bother me anymore?"
He nods.
A smile found Aveline lips.
"And don’t worry my star, mother won’t scold you again I will speak to her"

Aveline stood at the leaf-shaped mirror as the maids helped her with her gown. She was itching to leave right now and her feet couldn’t stop tapping impatiently. The moment they were done she dashed away.
"Your Highness!"
Aveline loved running, she loved how the wind would caress her face and how she would lift her gown and run like the wild, and how she would spread her arms too and imagine she was flying. But that excitement came to a pause when she found herself back at the barrier.
She took deep harsh breaths keeping her eyes on it, out of excitement she has found her way here again, why? What was the point of exploring out there when she can’t even talk to anyone? Or socialize? She has found herself only to speak more freely with Aldon. Even her mother and father... found it hard to speak to them.
Growing up Aldon has been everywhere, her mind, heart, and her voice, it was only ever him.
So where did the sudden increase of exploring come from?
’Who are you?’
Hearing a familiar voice in her head she instantly thought of a boy with beautiful silver hair unlike anything she has ever seen and crystal green eyes she can’t look away from. A smile crept on her lips and for a minute she looked around the area for anyone, it was just a precaution, no one knows of this place except her.
Aveline walked through the barrier and into the Elven woods once again in search of a silver-haired boy.

William can’t keep coming here every day, so he devised a plan to always paint this captivating scenery and bring nature back to the library. So right now, William had his easel up and his canvas on top, his colors laid out, and he painted the scene before him effortlessly.
Sometimes he has an odd feeling that someone was watching him but he couldn’t tell if it was his mind playing tricks on him, because he senses no aura around him or if it was a habit. A habit can’t happen without cause, or was it a feeling his body was trying to tell him... that it was a habit because it has happened before?
William instantly paused his painting at the mere thought. Has he met someone and doesn’t remember it? Because it felt like there was a glitch in his brain.
Suddenly he heard a footstep and he turned to find a girl with amber and vermilion eyes standing a few distance away from him. And without thinking much as to why he simply asked.
"Have we met before?"
The feeling was there... a strong sense of familiarity but he didn’t know why. He didn’t know who she was, and yet he does. Is he going crazy?
At his words, the girl’s eyes went wide in shock and her soft pink lips parted slightly, almost like she didn’t expect him to ask such words.
She opened her mouth but she quickly shut them and her cheeks flushed. William instantly dropped his painting materials.
"You don’t speak English do you?" he asked. Again how does he know? He just felt it.
She nods still in shock.
"But you can understand me?"
She nodded but then shook her head and he narrowed it down as not completely.
"Please don’t tell me you’re mute"
And the oddest thing happened, she laughed, the mere sound of it ringing around the area and William just stood there at her abrupt laugh with wide eyes. It was sudden and yet sounded so beautiful, and before he knew it a smile found his lips and he just watched her.
They spent the rest of the day together, even though they haven’t said any word to each other ever since he asked if she was mute. William just paints and she watches.
He wasn’t uncomfortable in the slightest at her focused gaze on his work, but instead, he enjoyed her company and it was vice versa.
Aveline couldn’t stop admiring his work, he truly was creating a masterpiece, was this some sort of magic? Because it seems like he has carried the view and dumped on this platform he was applying paint.
Silly her... she knew it wasn’t the case, he was creating this with his hands and it amazes her still, how he would blend the color, apply shades just as he sees them, and detail everything until it was perfect.
She loved his focus too, how his eyes would narrow like he was thinking and how he would lean closer to the canvas to get a detail right or how he would pause and keep his eyes on the view for a prolonged time. She could watch him all day.
But time was against them.
"I will forget again won’t I?" William asked at the end of the day, it took a minute before Aveline nodded as she cracked her brain to understand, she understood English because of the book she found in their library, but when Aldon found out she was learning another language he got angry at her and told her it wasn’t good to her and it will corrupt her.
Ever since that day, she has never stepped foot in that library.
"Let’s try this" William began after thinking. "I know of a spell... it might help, I call you a name but not just any name, the name will serve as a connection. It won’t change anything, even if I leave now I won’t remember you but when you say that name whenever you see me I will instantly remember"
Aveline looked at him puzzled, maybe he shouldn’t have said so much English.
"Okay then I will give you a name"
She nods only. A smile found William’s lips and he thought of a diminutive for her name.
"How about... Ava?"
