Chapter 123: Memory Block

Chapter 123: Memory Block

Memory

’The faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information’. It is something stored from the past or present. It is also the ability to retain and recall past events or information in a person’s mind. But in this case, William was experiencing a block in his memories, a particular void, something was missing and he only concedes it now, something he never felt and never thought of.

Not until Ava uttered those words to him. ’Why did you abandon me?’

After the migraine and the ringing in his ears and words, he could barely remember when they were said, everything just seems gone and off... the migraine gone, the ringing gone and all he was left with was a feeling of a void left on him, an emptiness, and it grows each day.

William has sorted every spell and every means, the very catalog of the entire library lies in his head and after scanning through every bit of scrolls and books, there was nothing that could rid him of this memory block.

It was something beyond his power... he was powerless to retain something as this, not even the Holy Library has an answer to his question.

And what made everything worse and tore his very soul... Ava has not said a word to him since that day, almost like she was mute again.

Every time they crossed paths in the library, mostly, she didn’t even look him in the eyes or utter even a single word, not her usual ’morning’, ’afternoon’, or ’evening’, almost like she was a ghost and it was breaking every part of him.

He didn’t know how to resolve this, because he knew without a doubt every word she said to him was his, and yet he hadn’t had the faintest memory of even saying it.

It was safe to say his memories were indeed wiped and it only proved that he really DID abandon her. But he won’t believe it, not until he sorts out the truth. He wants to talk to her but he can’t, she doesn’t even remain in his presence for long.

He hasn’t come to their chambers even, for he knew when he did she would leave and he didn’t want her to, he knew she was more comfortable there, and having her sleep somewhere else didn’t seem right with him.

He should talk to her

But what could he possibly say?

When he isn’t even sure of himself?

William was just as lost in his head, he was gradually losing his mind and it remains just a little patience before he could snap, he didn’t take being ignored well, he didn’t like her silent attitude and he wanted so badly to force her to speak, but he always muttered to himself mentally to understand her feelings.

She felt betrayed

She felt hurt

She felt like in the darkness and he could feel it all

And worse of all she must HATE him now. Her silence was enough to answer, her refusing to speak to him and what made his situation more hectic than ever was his craving, yes how foolish of him to think of such now, but the craving intensifies after the first taste and it becomes a routine like a daily appetite.

He didn’t mind dying from his own hunger, all he truly cared about was talking with his wife again and getting to the bottom of this.

So tonight he made the first bold move, coming to the dining hall even though he hadn’t been here for a long time. He was extremely relieved to find out she was eating and not starving herself. When Elevnia told him his turmoil reduced a bit, he cannot make her starve no matter what so he specifically told Elevnia to prepare food with higher nutrients for her health and serve her tonic and porridge if need be.

He can handle anything else but not his wife starving.

He waited patiently on his seat, his elbow resting on the armrest, his finger lining his lips and his knees bouncing in impatience, his eyes fixated on the meals, almost burning them with his mere gaze.

Not until the door badge opened and he almost shot out of his seat when she walked in.

Almost

She has never been more beautiful, dressed simply in her empire waist nightgown, her bosom merely holding the tied knots, her skin practically glowing and then it hit him, she has taken a bath.

It was a whole fucking three weeks of silence and now he looked like a madman gawking at his wife like a sinful act, like a skin would happen as he pictured pining her to her table and screwing her brains out until she speaks to him.

’Patience William... Patience’ a chant he told himself, he would deal with this like a civil man, he cannot have her hating on him more than she already does.

He studied her every movement as she took her seat not even acknowledging his very presence, like he wasn’t even there. Elvenia told him that she mostly spent her time at the library and with Sophia, She even speaks to Elvenia, and she was civil enough not to question her about what is wrong, their talks were just simple but her expression was somewhat lifeless.

Maybe she hates everyone here

She thinks they all lied to her.

Or maybe she ONLY hates him, and he deserved it, he was a sad excuse of a demi-god who can’t even remember what he did to hurt his beloved and he hated himself for it, a deep profound hatred that got him thinking about how much he wants to claw his heart out and present it to her.

Maybe that will ease their disagreement?

’No William, that is barbaric!’

He inhaled sharply trying his best to keep his body and mind calm watching as his wife ate silently, but how in hell’s name is he supposed to calm down? When her scent flooded the entire hall like an addicting drug.

How could he hear the firm beating of her heart? The pulsing of her veins? Imagining the way his hands would feel against her smooth soft skin? Or how close he was.... So close to losing his sanity after three weeks of this treatment?

His cock twitched in his pants as her mouth chewed on every food.

This torture!

’Use your head William and not your cock!’
