Chapter 683: Chapter 681: ZOOM CLUB 4
Meanwhile, the club members plus a lot of spectators were busy watching the ongoing races on the terraces, cheering and clapping merrily.
On the first day, it wasn’t a serious night. People were just racing for fun. That’s what Diamond was told, but looking at the cars zooming in on the track, she didn’t think so at all.
These people took everything seriously, which was commendable, and she liked it.
"Can you drive like this?" Diamond nudged Wyatt as she asked curiously.
Since Wyatt was a member, he should either love cars or drive at least. She was quite curious.
Wyatt looked at the track where two cars were halfway through the track and smiled as he replied, "Um, but not that much!"
Diamond looked at Wyatt with amazement in her eyes, making Wyatt chuckle shyly at being looked at like that.
Raize, who was listening on the other side, chuckled lightly and joined the conversation. "Diamond, don’t listen to him. He is one of the best racers we have here!" pride visible in her tone as she said that.
Diamond’s focus shifted to Raize and looked at her with sparkling eyes, which demanded more. And Raize was happy to oblige.
Diamond amusedly listened to Raize as she shared about the glorious races Wyatt had done ever since joining the club. His winning rate was quite high. He lost a few races but never lost a car, which was very impressive.
While they were in the middle of sharing that, the race came to an end and Diamond joined the rest of the spectators in cheering for the winner.
"The member who just won had been with us for two years. She is quite good and one of our best!" suddenly Kevin spoke, attracting Diamond’s interest and forcing her to take a closer look at the driver.
At that moment, in order to celebrate, the driver alighted from the car and when she saw the driver, her lips curled upwards even more.
’I didn’t expect the driver to be female!’ she surmised amusingly and watched as the defeated driver got out of the car. The driver was male.
It felt refreshing to see a woman winning instead of a man. She wasn’t biased, but she loved empowering women a lot. It couldn’t be helped.
"I like her. What’s her name?" Diamond asked curiously as she looked at Kevin, who had started the conversation.
Kevin flashed a smile at her and responded, "She goes by the code name K, and her real name is Kelly. She is my cousin," and Diamond could hear pride in his tone as he said that.
Diamond flashed a smile at him, nodding and accepting that the pride in his tone was well deserved.
If she had such a cousin, she would show off as well.
"She is good!" Diamond sincerely praised and Kevin’s eyes squinted at hearing that.
Mike looked at Kevin, who was showing off his cousin, and shook his head helplessly while saying, "Rather than showing off your cousin. How about you on a drive, yourself?" egging him on.
Kevin snorted as he looked at Mike and flatly rejected. "I don’t want to. Why spoil the fun?"
Diamond chuckled seeing the two banter and turned her focus on the cars entering the track. It seemed like a new race was about to start.
While wondering what kind of people were driving this time, she felt her elbow being nudged and when she looked in that direction; she saw that it was Wyatt.
She mouthed at him, "What?" and he answered her, "The boys are here. Do you want to go around and check the place out?"
When Diamond heard that, her eyes lit up as she found this much more interesting than being stuck in a chair while watching a race. So, she agreed readily before informing the four of her departure.
"I will take a look around. Later," she said to them before hooking her arm with Wyatt and left before they could persuade her.
Watching the two leaving, Maya looked at them with a mysterious gaze before it vanished and a smile reappeared on her face.
"They look pretty close!" she couldn’t help but comment.
Raize nodded smilingly as she watched Diamond acting all coy and like a child to Wyatt before answering, "Um, they are pretty much close!" testifying to their closeness.
She still remembered how they were during Diamond’s party. If they didn’t know, they would have thought that they were lovers. Unfortunately, they were good and close friends.
It was very rare to have such people meet and click like that. Instead of acting like adults, when they were together, their IQ dropped altogether. However, seeing them, Raize couldn’t help but smile. At least, with those two, she could see their genuine friendship. That was very rare and pleasing for her.
Kevin and Mike both nodded their heads when they heard that.
"It’s still quite amusing that in this city there is a person called Diamond," Maya couldn’t help but say as she looked at the track where the new race had started.
"Indeed. Who would have known that we had a crouching tiger in the mix? She popped up just like that."
"As someone who is close to her, what do you think about her?"
Raize looked at Maya, who had asked such a question, and took a deep breath as she looked at the racing cars.
"Honestly, she is a mystery. She is the kind of person who only brings the people she wants into her circle. She is generous though and very good to the people she likes.
From what I have seen so far, she is a filial child. Never mess with her family or the people she loves. As you have seen so far, she is hot-tempered. If you provoke her, she will deal with you accordingly," Raize answered according to what she knew.
Maya nodded her head as if understanding something. While Kevin threw another question at Raize.
"Do you think that what she mentioned in the interviews is true?"
"About?" Raize asked with raised brows, wondering which topic exactly.
Diamond spoke about a lot of thongs during her ten interviews. One needed to be specific.
Seeing that Raize couldn’t understand, Kevin asked directly, "I am asking about her source of funds. How she got rich!"
When she heard that, Raize looked at Kevin with narrowed eyes, wondering what kind of games this person was playing, but still responded.
