Chapter 404: Chapter 402: MOVED

Seeing him like that, Diamond felt happier. He was absorbed, and that’s what she wanted.

As long as he continues to remember her, then she might have a chance. Whether now or in the future. She was very patient.

"Thankfully, everything went well last year and from being a poor girl, I suddenly became rich overnight. Who would have ever thought that the crypto I forgot all these years would have soared that much?" with a smile on her face, as she recalled the day she buried the bird, the night her life changed, she couldn’t help but be happy.

Dean saw that smile on her face and it looked genuine.

Some people could lie to gain sympathy, but Diamond wasn’t that kind of person.

She didn’t have a reason to lie to him, which was why he believed her and even felt sorry for her. After all, despite all this, she once suffered that much before.

"With so much money in my hands, I wondered what I could do with it!" with a light chuckle, she said as she looked at Dean again before continuing, "I didn’t want to live like that again. I wanted to live a life of luxury. Where I don’t have to worry about what to eat or where to sleep at the end of the day.

Fortunately, my luck in the past year had been pretty good. I just needed to invest some of that money I earned from crypto and boom, this girl’s money kept on increasing!" Diamond exaggeratedly raised her hands, expressing how big of a bang it was.

"With so much money, a person needs to be grateful. I can spend it but can I finish it all and still feel good?" with a slight frown on her face, she stated.

Dean didn’t know how to respond, so he could only glance at her for an answer, and she didn’t disappoint him.

"I thought of starting the charity foundation. This way I can help others on a large scale. Who cares about the millions I need to spend in a month or so? It’s not like I don’t spend that much in a day at times.

Sparing a few million, I could have used to purchase a new car or jewelry to help those who are in need. I found that worthwhile!" she smiled lightly as she interlaced her fingers together.

Dean nodded his head, finding the answer to the question he asked earlier.

"I don’t care if I don’t get anything from the charity. As long as I know that this money, I have is helping others, even when I spend my money recklessly, I am at ease.

At least, no one can make me feel guilty about how I could have spent that money to help those in need. It’s not like I am not doing it!" she said with a shrug of her arms.

Dean this time chuckled, finding this reason very hilarious and yet making sense at the same time.

He had seen how other people liked guilt-tripping others with this excuse, and honestly, this method had worked several times.

It made a lot of popular figures go under scrutiny by citizens. It was as if being rich was a crime, and every single cent that they worked hard to earn should all be given to charity.

Was it really a crime to be rich?

Just because they were rich, do they need to give everything away?

What was stopping those poor people from working hard as well and gaining a foothold in society or industry?

He just couldn’t get it.

Thankfully, Diamond’s words that night moved him and made him realize that some other things didn’t need to be so stressful. A simple thought might bring a solution to all problems.

"You .... You are really something else. Are you not afraid that people would talk?" Dean couldn’t help but ask still.

Diamond chuckled heartily after hearing that and responded, "You know ... from the day I decided to put myself online and become a socialite, I knew that I was going to be talked about a lot. But if I don’t care about it, what can bother me?"

Dean gawked at Diamond, not expecting her to respond in such a manner.

"You ... alas, I don’t know what to say anymore!"

Diamond stuck her tongue playfully at Dean, finding him cute, just like his sisters.

"You see, Dean, in life, if you care much about what people will think about you, you will spend the rest of your short life living a fake life.!" With a serious expression on her face, she said to Dean. "Even if we are required to care that much, at least once in a while be your true life. Life can be frustrating at times, you know!"

Dean looked complicatedly at Diamond, wondering just how that head of hers worked.

"Don’t look at me like that. I am serious!" she shrugged her shoulders with a funny smile on her face, making Dean burst into laughter.

"I know that you are serious, and thank you for reminding me of that. Is that why you announced your relationship?" he couldn’t help but ask.

It wasn’t that easy for people like them to casually do that without being exposed by the paparazzi.

Hearing that topic being brought back, Diamond cursed Dean inwardly, while outwardly. She smiled at him as she responded, "Yes. I don’t have anything to hide. Rather than waiting for others to expose me, why not just let the fans know? They deserve that at least!" spreading her arms at the same time. "Besides, it’s not like I rely on their money for a living. If they get pissed off with my words, all they need to do is unfollow and follow the people who can follow what they want like puppets!"

"Cough ....." Dean coughed upon hearing how swiftly that touching moment changed into something so icy like that in a second.

How could she change like that so easily?

Unfortunately, her words were indeed correct. So, he couldn’t even reprimand her at all.

"I guess this makes sense as well. I think I need to follow in your footsteps!" Dean gratefully said as he looked at her.

Diamond grinned happily, seeing Dean like that. She couldn’t help but probe, "So, are you seeing someone?" curious about this so much.
