Chapter 403: Chapter 401: YOU ARE DIFFERENT THAN I THOUGHT!

Diamond was a bit puzzled seeing Dean chuckling like that.

Could it be that she had said something funny?

"Is something funny?" she couldn’t help but ask out loud, her curiosity taking over her.

Rather than dying with curiosity, she would rather ask out loud.

Dean wasn’t expecting Diamond to ask him such a question, however, he didn’t find it a bad thing at the same time.

Having direct people who didn’t beat around the bush was nice at times.

With his lips curving upward as he stole a glance at her, he said, "Not really. I wasn’t expecting you to be like this at all. You are different than I thought!" recalling how he had mixed feelings for her.

She was someone he couldn’t read at all, and at times, it bothered him a bit.

Diamond, upon hearing that, smiled relievedly. She was afraid that she might have turned into a joke in front of this man she was secretly admiring.

"Hehe, a lot of people are like that, but I tend to prove them wrong!" she said with a proud smile, thinking about the several faces she had slapped because of these assumptions.

Dean shook his head with a chuckle, speechless at Diamond’s reply.

"I guess that’s good as well!" he couldn’t help but say a moment later before he added, "I heard from the girls that you are running a charity foundation. Can you tell me why you started it in the first place? After all, it seems that it’s been spending a lot of money and hasn’t been earning much!" asking about a matter that had been ringing in his mind for a while.

Diamond turned her head to look at Dean, a faint smile on her face.

Honesty, she wasn’t expecting to hear such a question. After all, it was just the two of them in the car.

To think that he was interested in that and not the beautifully dressed her right now made her a tard disappointed but at the same time glad.

At least he was attentive. Did this mean that she might have a chance?

She needed to have backup plans. After all, her duo-ships were about to sink in a couple of days.

Nonetheless, since he was curious about this, she might as well dazzle him with her response.

"Actually, I haven’t always been rich. I was poor as heck. It was hard for my family to raise us, their two daughters. In my family, I was the most spoiled one and barely saw any suffering.

My parents made sure that I had at least the best that they could afford. Without many talents, I just wanted a better life for myself! Hehe, if I couldn’t find a well-paying job, then maybe marry a rich guy!" as she recalled that crazy dream that sent her to purgatory, she couldn’t help but chuckle.

Dean turned to glance at Diamond for a bit, puzzled about the reason why she was revealing all this.

He once saw a video which was still on her social media accounts, narrating about her past. But to think that she could casually talk about it with him, he didn’t know what to think at all.

Usually, girls tend to hide their past whether other people know about it or not, and more so in front of guys. And yet Diamond was retelling that to him.

Could it be that in her eyes, he wasn’t a man? A man to be considered, but probably just another brother or another guy out there?

He couldn’t help but feel complicated as he returned his attention to the front.

Meanwhile, Diamond had no clue what Dean was thinking about as she continued with her story.

Actually, there was a reason why she was doing all this. Diamond had been indecisive for a very long time.

She still recalled when she got rich last year, how she vowed to herself to be happy and be with men. She took fancy to them as long as they fancied her.

And yet, because of the twins and the delusion they created around her, she thought that having those two, being faithful to those two and looking forward to a future with them would suffice.

But that was just a bubble she created and now it literally exploded on her.

She still recalls how she once sat next to that handsome young man on the plane. She clearly liked him and yet she didn’t dare do anything.

This time, meeting Dean, she couldn’t help but waver again despite knowing that it might be impossible to get him in the end. After all, there was a possibility that he might be dating, having a fiancé or a secret marriage.

Nowadays, anything is possible. But if she doesn’t give it a try, how would she know?

Having Dean know a bit about her past, the one that others might try to use against her in advance, whether it succeeds or not, would smooth things between them.

Because of that, Diamond found that she just needed to talk about it. This way, she won’t have to be misunderstood.

It was also because she didn’t talk much about her past with the twins that Sullivan dared to accuse her and literally tried to push all the blame on her when he was the one in the wrong.

It was also thanks to that, that she managed to fish that something was wrong. And in a couple of days, she would no longer be tied to these traitors and deceivers.

Brushing aside the twins on the side, Diamond continued with her propaganda.

"..... fortunately, despite everything I went through, at some point in life I was clever and managed to invest a portion of my savings into cryptocurrency. Of course, I completely forgot about that issue after a while. After all, with all the mess that was happening about cryptocurrency a few years ago, I simply took it as me losing the money I invested. Losses are part of life, so I accepted it and moved on!" she couldn’t help but chuckle as she lied with a straight face.

However, since she had already started with this lie, to justify her source of funds, she needed to believe it and make those who heard it believe it as well.

"After all the mess with my ex-boyfriend, who got snatched by a best friend I trusted so much. I left Srad and moved to Frin, where I got a job at a small firm and worked tirelessly for a living.

At that time, I even lived in a rooftop house. just a small room that leaked whenever there were heavy rains. The bathroom was just a small place, and I had to use a dish if I wanted to bathe properly. Haha, can you believe it?" with melancholy in her eyes, Diamond laughed heartily as she looked at Dean, whose expression was a bit solemn, listening and digesting the story attentively.
