Chapter 47: [Curses and how to use them!]

The devil took his arm out of Noah’s body before throwing it away, crashing against the wall before it fell on the ground, as lifeless as possible.

"I take it back. It was fun. Too bad-"(the devil)

The devil stopped mid sentence as he observed the rapid recovery of Noah, his wounds healing at an insane rate, the hole in his stomach filling back with flesh stronger than before.

"YOU MONSTER!"(The Devil)

The devil shouted as he once again teleported in front of Noah, not giving him a chance to recover. The devil’s hand sharpened as if transofrming into a dagger before he moved in for a slash at Noah’s neck, aiming to severe it from his body.

But the same hand was stopped as Noah caught the devil’s forearm.

A cold smile formed on Noah’s face as he looked at the devil, sending chills down the devil’s spine.

[Curse: Containment!]

[Curse: Pain!]

[Curse: Monumental!]

[Curse: Aberration!]

With the help of [Active Mana Regeneration], Elios can rapidly regenerate Mana without wasting any time. Even though the skill allowed only a portion of mana regeneration per second, in Elios’ hands he can change the frequency of Mana Regeneration from 10 per second to 1MP per 0.1 second.

And those curses were tailored towards the devil, minute curses that drains the power of the target slowly. On their own they were weak curses that had barely any effects but when there were more than a dozen at once, working together in synchronisation...

"Huh?-Wha... ?!!! What did...?!!!"(The devil)

The devil confused was barely able to form sentences together as he took a step back. His mind was in a complex state as each of his thought was raipdly forming before changing into something else.

Half the curses were forcing his body to do a dozen tasks at once, and the other half were interfering with the task, redirecting it over and over again. In a way, his system was overloading and then rebooting, making his body barely able to react with what was going on.

Just focusing on Noah was probably taking way too much out of him right now.

Noah then stood up before the dagger in his hand began shining black, momentarily triggering fear in the devil’s eyes before that too vanished in confusion. The curse was working perfectly but they didn’t know how long it would take before the effects of the curse vanished.

Hence Noah needed to finish it as fast as possible.

"WAIT-!!"

A single slash cutting off the head of the devil from his body before it fell on the ground with a thud. And then it started disintegrating into black smoke before slowly returning to the circle from where it came from.

There was no message of the devil being killed, so it meant that he was still alive. Just that the momentarily projection he had here was erased.

[Purification!]

Elios immediately used the spell to remove all the curses that he had placed on Noah, making all the pain vanish as Noah was finally able to breath properly.

"You fucking bastard..."(Noah)

Taking slow breaths, he then cursed Elios for a few seconds before looking around for any signs of dangers.

Noah nodded before he then recollected his thoughts before getting away from there. The encounter was surprising but nothing out of his reach. Elios had already informed Noah of this skill and the fact that he had an extra life as long as his entire body is not obliterated.

Just that Noah didn’t want to use that many points at once unless it was an emergency. Especially if his life was on the line.

The only probable surprise aspect was the teleportation skill of that devil but honestly, with that kind of stupid brain, dealing with that devil was pretty easy too.

Noah recalled the events that had happened back before wondering the other paths he could have taken.

He could have dodged that devil’s arm and stopped him from piercing his stomach, alarming the devil of Noah’s speed and then prolonging the battle even more.

Or perhaps he could have taken a risky approach and tried killing the devil without wasting any time.

Different pathways would have worked differently.

Perhaps he can try those next time? Who knows if he gets any unexpected gains from that?

Noah then stopped pondering about that and began running back towards the central temple. Today’s report involved a devil so he would need to go to the head priest directly and inform him of all the things that he had witnessed.

It was going to be a long night, and thinking about that, Noah couldn’t help but sigh.

[The devil didn’t have any horns. So it must be a lesser devil, the weakest of their kind. Hmmm... seems like we are a long way from getting strong and eradicating these cultists.](Elios)

’Seems like it. But at least we know where we stand and how much we have to move forward.’(Noah)

Noah ran through the alleyways and finally reached the temple. And then showing his card to a specific guard, he entered the temple through a hidden passage until he reached the central temple hall.

From there onwards, Noah changed into his acolyte dress and then slowly moved to the head priest’s office without any urgency.

Though before he could knock, the door opened by itself showing the figure of Ameliana, head priest, Lucas and Saintess Alicia.

And they all had a rather grim expression on their faces.
