Chapter 63: Chapter 63

"Wait, this is a mistake! You can’t eliminate me over a mistake!" Frankie protested.

"You should maybe ask your husband why he would pick rock when you already told him to pick paper," Madeline shrugged. "Maybe he can’t really trust you."

"Don’t try to insinuate a fight between us, Madeline. Without your instruction, we won’t have to do this!" Frankie yelled.

"And without Ethan’s betrayal, you’d still be in the show," Madeline giggled. She pointed at the door and said, "There’s the exit, you should leave now."

"No! I don’t want to leave before there’s a rematch! You manipulated Ethan into betraying me!"

"Security," Madeline glanced at the two burly men at the door. "Take him out. I, Madeline Rose, eliminate Frankie from this show."

The security guards approached Frankie, and the latter quickly dodged, "No, you can’t stop me! This is unfair! I can do so much more in this show!"

Unfortunately, he was no match against two burly men. He was escorted out of the room despite struggling and screaming at the top of his lungs.

Madeline stared at Ethan, who had just betrayed his husband. She raised her brow and said, "Congratulations, you will be eliminated after the next game."

"Just wait and see, Madeline. You forced me to eliminate my husband. I will avenge him," Ethan said. He sounded so serious, but Madeline simply laughed at him.

"Yeah, yeah, you’re the one who betrayed him. This has nothing to do with me," Madeline got up from her seat and walked towards Ethan.

She patted Ethan’s shoulder and said, "Maybe you’re not so bad. You’re as bitchy and evil as I am. How about we become friends?"

Ethan brushed off her hand and said, "I won’t even think about that. You’re on my hit list, bitch."

Ethan walked out of the room with vengeance in his hand.

"Oh well, guess one more person to eliminate. It’s not that hard," Madeline shrugged.

Now that she was done with her elimination, she wondered about Zane.

’Will he follow my instructions?’ Madeline wondered. ’I hope so. I’m trying to make this game more fun.’

Meanwhile, on the other side, Zane sat on a throne just like Madeline, and the first one to come was Jasmin.

"Hey, big shot," Jasmin said as she stood in front of him. "Should I say something to protect my position in this show?"

"You should," Zane smiled. "Just because you’re Madeline’s friend doesn’t mean I will let you slide."

"Oh boy, well, first of all, I gave you a big challenge during the first game, so you might want me for some competition," Jasmin said.

"I might eliminate you for that. Easier competition is nice."

"Oh, I know you won’t," Jasmin smiled. "Madeline will be pissed off if you dare to eliminate me. So think again, I might be your matchmaker between you and Madeline."

Zane couldn’t deny that because that was true.

He wouldn’t eliminate Jasmin simply because she was Madeline’s friend.

Well, on top of that, Zane also loved a good fight. Jasmin had proven her competence, so he’d keep her around to spice up the show.

"I rest my case," Jasmin said. "I don’t need that much time to convince you. Good luck picking Bertha or Elly. I hate both, by the way."

Jasmin turned around and left.

Bertha was the next to walk in. She looked meek, as always, and she lowered her head when standing in front of Zane.

"Look up," Zane said.

Bertha squealed like a chipmunk when her eyes met with Zane’s.

She blushed, and quickly lowered her eyes again, "I—I can’t, Zane. You’re too handsome."

Zane chuckled, ’So this is what Madeline means when she said Bertha likes to fake her fondness.’

"Then, maybe you should try to defend yourself," Zane said. "I can eliminate you at any time."

"I—I don’t think I’m bad enough to get eliminated by you. I have a good relationship with Madeline. We are childhood best friends," Bertha said. "You can ask her how good our relationship is. I even tried to defend her when Elly and the others were trying to bully her."

’I don’t need to ask her. She already told me she has no ally in this show besides Jasmin,’ Zane said in his heart. But he maintained his composure and asked, "Then, who do you think deserves to be eliminated? Jasmin or Elly?"

Bertha was thinking about it for a moment. She wanted to say Jasmin because that bitch was Madeline’s friend in this game, and Jasmin was also athletic and had a strong character, all the things she hated.

But Elly knew that Zane was very fond of Madeline, at least for now. All she could do was creep slowly into his heart, since Zane was the key to victory in this show.

Thus, she decided to sacrifice her own ally. "I think Elly should be eliminated."

"Elly? I thought you’d say Jasmin," Zane commented. "Why Elly? You’re her friend, right?"

"She was my friend. B—but she has been very mean to me recently," Bertha said weakly. "She’s very overbearing, and I can’t get close to Madeline anymore because Elly told me that she would hate me forever if I talked to Madeline."

Zane stared at Bertha, and his gaze gradually cooled as he said, "Bertha, you’re not a teenager anymore. Stop acting like one."

Zane’s words were like a knife that stabbed her heart. She lifted her head and stared at Zane in disbelief, "B—But what I said is real! I want to befriend Madeline, but Elly told me not to!"

"I don’t need to hear any more words from a spineless woman like you," Zane said. "Now go. I will talk to Elly."

"W—Wait, I—"

Bertha tried to reason more with Zane, but the man had already told the security guard to escort Bertha out and bring Elly in.

Elly was the last to come in, and she looked very bitter.

"You don’t look happy, Elly. Don’t you want to be saved?" Zane asked.
