She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 248
Chapter 248: Chapter 248
"T—Thank you, Kate..." Madeline murmured, unable to hide her smile. She was glad that Lance’s family accepted her even with many scandals she had in the showbiz.
"Okay, since you’re ready, I will call the bridesmaids and the servants to help you with the dress," Chloe said, before waltzing out of the room to gather the rest of the entourage.
"I suppose it’s time for me to join my husband too," Kate said, smiling at Madeline. "Don’t be nervous, Madeline."
"Yeah, because if you look nervous, my brother will get nervous too," Lily giggled. "Oh, you should see his expression right now. He looks like he’s about to fight a tiger."
Madeline laughed with Lily because she knew it was true.
Lance had been acting cool for a whole week, but Madeline, who understood him inside out, knew he was the most nervous one there.
"I’ll be seeing you in the garden then," Madeline said to Kate and Lily before they left.
She stared at the mirror and gently caressed the ruby necklace Kate had given her. "I can’t wait to show this to Lance. Kate said it’s one of her favorite pieces, so Lance must’ve seen it a few times."
**
Lance stared at the guests who were already seated in their respective seats. He silently observed everyone around and easily recognized all of them.
Madeline had wanted a private wedding with no media intervention and no public figures who weren’t friends or family with them during the wedding.
So far, he had successfully warded off everyone he deemed unnecessary or unworthy to attend the wedding. Only their family and friends were invited.
However, Lance’s status as a Duke’s son meant he was bound to have many friends.
As he waited for Madeline to walk down the aisle, he noticed his big brother, one of his groomsmen, staring at one spot without blinking.
Following Theodore’s line of sight, he saw that Theo had been staring at Mia Eckermann, Michael and Mai’s only daughter, who was one year younger than Lily.
Michael and Mai were their parents’ close confidants who had been working with them for decades, to the point that the Grant siblings called them Uncle and Aunt.
Lance raised his brow. It was obvious that Theo was interested in her.
Leaning in, Lance whispered to his big brother, "She is Mia Eckermann, Uncle Michael and Aunt Mai’s daughter. She’s nineteen and attended Tokyo University. The reason why we rarely see her is that she lives with Aunt Mai in Japan."
"W—Why are you giving me that information?" Theo responded nervously.
"You’ve been staring at her for a while without blinking. It’s obvious that you have an interest in her," Lance snickered. "Do you not remember her at all? I remember how you often said that Aunt Mai was really pretty when you were a kid. Maybe it’s time to marry her daughter instead."
"Nonsense!" Theodore rebuked, his voice was so loud that everyone darted their eyes to him.
He zipped his lips instantly and bowed respectfully to apologize.
Theodore then gave Lance a death glare, ready to kill him on the spot if it weren’t for Lance’s big day.
Lance curled his lips as he got the satisfaction of teasing his big brother. "It’s fine, big bro. I’ll tell Uncle Michael about this. I’m sure he’ll be more than happy to introduce you two."
Theodore wanted to refute but then had a second thought and silently agreed with Lance’s suggestion.
He stole another glance at Mia Eckermann, who was busy with her phone, and his heartbeat began to accelerate as he admitted Mia was his real type, unlike Angel.
Lance was staring emptily at the door where Madeline was supposed to do her entrance and was surprised when their wedding song started playing, followed by the door that opened slowly, showing Madeline in her beautiful white dress, holding a bouquet of roses.
Lance’s heart skipped a beat; he had been imagining Madeline in a wedding dress for so long, and the reality was far better than his imagination.
’Madeline... my sweet candy...’

Madeline took a deep breath before she walked down the aisle.
Her mother accompanied her, as she had no father.
Madeline had already told her mother that she didn’t need to do that, but Diana insisted because it was her duty as a mother.
Her eyes looked straight ahead, and she saw Lance at the end of the aisle.
She curled her lips, trying her best not to laugh because Lance’s expression was exactly what she expected. He was staring at her like an idiot, and his jaw literally dropped.
’I hope he doesn’t accidentally drool, or I won’t be able to hold my laugh,’ Madeline thought.
Despite his stupid look, he looked handsome in his black suit with a red rose on his chest pocket. If it weren’t for his goofy expression, Madeline would’ve thought she was marrying a serious man.
She also noticed the groomsmen standing near the aisle.
Lance had four groomsmen: Theodore, George, Cedric, and her little brother, Nathan.
Meanwhile, Madeline also had four bridesmaids: Jasmin, Valerie, Lily, and Olga.
They were all Madeline and Lance’s trusted friends and family members, so choosing wasn’t difficult.
She also noticed Henry and Kate sitting side by side, as well as Vernon and Chloe.
Luckily, they had reserved a spot next to Kate for Diana, making it clear that Duke Henry and Duchess Katherine wanted everyone to know Diana Rose was their in-laws now.
Lastly, Madeline focused on the decoration. They were getting married in early summer, so it wasn’t too hot, and the flowers bloomed beautifully in the Glassmist Castle’s garden.
Madeline clenched the rose bouquet in her hand as she approached the altar. She stared at Lance, who was still looking at her, his mouth gaping.
She curled her lips and whispered to him as she stood in front of him, "Close your mouth, Lance. It’d be embarrassing if you drool."
