Chapter 238: Chapter 238

Before the scene even began, Olga felt weird that Zane called her ’Madeline’ instead of her real name. But she already knew Zane’s deep love for Madeline Rose, so she tried to understand his situation.

Of course, Olga would be lying if she said she felt no jealousy. Who wouldn’t want to be the object of Zane Eastwood’s deep love?

But she knew Zane stood no chance with her boss, so she paid it no mind.

"Okay, everyone in position! Three, two, one, action!"

—Hot Sensation Scene #80–

Zane held Madeline’s hand on the bed as he stared deep into her eyes. He grinned, with many naughty images flashing in his mind right now.

"Then why don’t you pick me instead? I could be a better boyfriend for you. After all, I’ve known you for much longer than your useless rich boyfriend," Zane said. "And unlike him, I wouldn’t trap you in some stupid reality show just to humiliate you in front of the whole world."

Madeline got nervous because Zane started being pushy. She had a good impression of her old co-star when they were just two children, but it is a different situation now.

She couldn’t just ditch Lance because she had genuinely fallen in love with him.

But Zane’s offer was undeniably tempting because nobody would be kind enough to offer himself to a problematic woman like her.

"I—I will think about it..." Madeline replied hesitantly.

"What’s there to think about? I’d be a great boyfriend to you and would never treat you wrong!" Zane pressed on, gripping Madeline’s hand tighter. "So, leave that useless boyfriend of yours and stay with me, okay?"

"I don’t think—"

"CUT!"

—Hot Sensation Scene #80 paused–

Olga’s immersion broke instantly when Lance abruptly stopped the filming.

All eyes turned to Lance, and the latter looked so angry a volcano might explode from the top of his head.

"You bastard! Do it right!" Lance bellowed at Zane. "How can you suck so bad at acting?!"

Zane, who was usually soft and obedient because of Madeline, had zero goodwill towards this man. So he raised his voice and yelled back, "I am doing it right! Do you know who you’re talking to? I’ve had plenty of box office success under my belt!"

"Your eyes lost focus and kept staring at MY girlfriend the whole time! How is that professional?!"

Zane fell silent immediately. He did check on Madeline a few times just to make sure that she was watching him.

He wished that his acting would be good enough to leave an impact on Madeline, and she would finally ditch Lance for him.

Unfortunately, he might’ve gotten too distracted by Madeline’s beauty that he lost his focus during the scene.

"Do it again! Don’t mess this up, Zane Eastwood. Not everyone wants to spend time in the same room with you!" Lance snapped.

"Tsk, I want to end it soon," Zane snorted.

And so, Lance gave the cue again. Zane and Olga repeated their lines, but it didn’t take long before Lance yelled the same thing, "CUT! Damn it, stop ogling at my girlfriend, you fucking psycho!"

"I’m trying! It’s not my fault Maddy is so beautiful!"

"That’s unnecessary. You’re not allowed to praise her like that!"

"It’s my mouth! I can do whatever I can!"

Madeline had been watching these two of them in silence the whole time. She sighed, realizing Zane couldn’t do the scene if she shared the same room with him.

Thus, Madeline got up and announced, "Then, I’ll be waiting outside. I don’t think Zane will be able to finish his scene with me around."

"No, you’re staying in here. You’re the director! How can the director leave the set just because of one crappy actor?" Lance sneered.

"Don’t leave, Maddy. I could’ve nailed the scene if that overbearing bastard wasn’t trying to provoke me."

"Oh, so you want to fight, huh?" Lance stood up from his seat, ready to punch Zane if this man called him bastard one more time.

"Okay! Time out!" Madeline intervened before things escalated further. "Let’s be professional, everyone. Zane, you need to focus because the company is paying a lot for this."

"And you, Lance. Can you stop yelling? You’re hurting my ears!"

Lance was caught off guard because he got scolded, too.

"I’m just doing my job..."

"Then, you should continue doing your job. I will leave the set temporarily so Zane can finish his scene. You will be the only director for now, alright?"

Lance nodded reluctantly, though he still felt wronged by Madeline’s scolding.

"I want this scene to be done by the time I return. So don’t mess this up, Zane Eastwood," Madeline instructed before turning to the door.

Zane also nodded reluctantly, even though he didn’t deserve to get scolded by Madeline.

Madeline stepped away from the set and idly scrolled through her phone while waiting for Zane and Olga to wrap up their scene.

To her surprise, the scene was done in less than fifteen minutes, as Lance walked out with a grim face, "It’s done. He did it perfectly without you around."

Madeline chuckled, "Told you I’m just a distraction for him."

"He’s just unprofessional. Maybe I should just cut his salary by half," Lance grumbled.

"You could cut his salary by 99% and give him a penny, and he’d still show up. We both know money is not what he’s here for."

Lance hated to admit that Madeline was right.

He also hated that Zane was truly an acting genius. With the real Madeline out of the picture, Zane executed his scenes flawlessly, to the point that Lance couldn’t nitpick anything.

"Tsk, we need to finish all his scenes over as soon as possible. I don’t want to see his face for too long."

"Gee, you can’t be too hostile with our cast. They are here to work, not to fight," Madeline advised, but Lance didn’t take it seriously because he was still annoyed by Zane’s presence.

"I think I shouldn’t be on the set while we’re filming Zane’s scene," Madeline suggested, and Lance agreed.

"You don’t need to see his face. Go enjoy your free time, maybe hit the mall and buy the stuff you want.."

"Oh? You sound more professional now," Madeline teased. "Is this because you don’t want Zane and I to have a conversation?"

"Obviously," Lance admitted without hesitation. "That bastard is trying to get into your head, so you will leave me and stay with him."

"And do you think I will do that?" Madeline pouted cutely, teasing him even more. "I’m hurt, babe. Do you think I’m such a cheater?"

"N—No, I—I didn’t mean it that way!" Lance stammered to clarify. "I’m just worried that man might’ve manipulated you since we didn’t have a good start."

"Hihi, I know. I’ll be careful, so don’t worry," Madeline said. She snatched Lance’s wallet from his chest pocket and took out the black card. "I’m going to the mall with your card, alright? Maybe I’ll invite Jasmin to come with me."

Lance’s gaze softened as he stared at Madeline.

He felt that he hadn’t done much to make Madeline happy. So whenever she said she wanted to go out and buy something, he would always spoil her rotten, as he felt this was the best way to prove that he deserved her.

After all, money had never been a problem for him.

She could empty a store, and it wouldn’t dent his wallet.

"Go and have fun with Jasmin. I’m going to finish all the scenes with Zane. I’m glad we don’t have much of him," Lance said.

"Aww, my rich hubby is spoiling me rotten," Madeline was more entertained by Lance’s reaction than the shopping she was about to do. "Do you want me to buy something for you?"

"I don’t need anything right now. Just go and have fun."

Madeline pecked Lance on the lips before walking away, "I’ll go now, then. See you at home, babe."

Lance watched Madeline’s retreating figure and sighed, "You’re so hard to please, Maddy. If only you could be more materialistic, it’d be easier for me to spoil you."

Returning to the set, Lance was determined to finish all of Zane’s scenes in two days. He didn’t want to spend any more time necessary with that bastard.

Madeline instructed Ada to go to Rodeo Drive and called Jasmin while on her way.

"Girlfriend! How have you been?" Jasmin greeted as soon as the call connected.

"I’m good, but we need to catch up!" Madeline replied. "Why don’t we meet up? I’m on my way to Rodeo Drive."

"Oh! What a coincidence. I’m actually on Rodeo Drive right now. I just finished meeting with a fellow rapper. She’ll be featured in my next album!"

"Nice! I’ll be there in... uh... twenty minutes! Please wait for me, and we can go shopping!" Madeline said. "Don’t worry, I have Lance’s black card. We can buy whatever we want!"

Jasmin chuckled, "Alright, I’m going to use that black card to buy an ice cream. Come here, I’ll be waiting~."
