"Just get the fuck out, Zane. I’m being very patient with you because Madeline is here. But you’re wearing my patience down," Lance said coldly.

"I—I will do anything if I get a role! Please, just let me be on the set!" Zane continued begging. He knew that his real self wouldn’t even think about begging, but he had been missing her a lot, and this longing would be cured temporarily as long as he could see Madeline in person.

Lance didn’t give a damn about his begging. All he wanted to do was kick this bastard away, knowing that Zane just wanted to see Madeline in person again.

Lance rose, ready to drag this bastard out of the room before he influenced Madeline’s mind, "You need to get the fuck out before I—"

"Wait, Lance," Madeline interrupted. "I think we can give him a chance."

Lance’s eyes widened, "Are you kidding me? Maddy, this is Zane Eastwood! That bastard who almost ruined your career a while back!"

"I know, but I think we still need to give him a chance..." Madeline insisted.

"You—" Lance was speechless. "Madeline Rose! What the hell are you talking about?!"

Madeline stared at her boyfriend and said, "Zane also has a role in this movie. I can’t give him the main lead role, but we should let him play as himself. After all, he is the perfect cast for it, right?"

"Madeline!"

"Besides, he’s crazy popular. It will help to boost public engagement," Madeline argued.

Lance was about to explode at this point. He slammed the table, grabbed Zane’s arm, and pushed him out of the room.

He glared at the other directors and yelled, "ALL OF YOU, OUT!"

The directors didn’t dare to face Lance’s wrath. So they quickly retreated.

Meanwhile, Madeline stood on her ground, ignoring the people passing her to run away, leaving her alone with her boyfriend.

Lance stood in front of him, his chest heaved, and he got angry at his girlfriend for still protecting that bastard.

"Do you have feelings for him?" Lance accused immediately.

"No," Madeline replied firmly.

"Then why the fuck do you take his side?!" Lance yelled, his veins popping on his neck. "Madeline Rose, that bastard almost ruined your life! Do you need him to ruin your life for the second time?!"

Madeline was a little scared by how explosive Lance’s anger was. But she stood her ground and replied, "I see everything from a business perspective. I think it’s a golden chance we cannot miss out on."

"But this is not just a business for me. Goddamn, why are you so stubborn!" Lance got frustrated by Madeline. He grabbed her arms, wanting to shake some sense into her brain.

But he refrained at the last second, not wanting to hurt his girlfriend.

"This is never a business for me, Maddy. I agreed to produce this movie because I want to clear up your name, not because I want to make money!" Lance said. "We can leave this goddamn company right now, and nothing will happen to us because I have enough money for us to spend for the rest of our lives! What more do you want!?"

Madeline finally folded, seeing Lance getting angry at her.

"I—I just want the best for us..." Madeline said. She began to tear up as she got scared by Lance’s outburst, and the latter quickly released her arms and took a step back. "Please don’t yell at me like that. You’re scaring me."

"I—I’m sorry, babe. I didn’t mean to scare you," Lance said bewilderedly. "But I can’t agree with your request that scum Zane Eastwood better go, or this movie is canceled."

’Damn it,’ Madeline thought that her tears would be enough to soften Lance’s anger. But it didn’t work as well as she expected.

She truly thought that Zane would bring huge revenue for them and would guarantee that this movie would be a success. So, all she needed to do was to convince Lance.

Thus, Madeline switched her tactic by stepping forward and hugging him, which made Lance’s body stiffen. "W—What now?" He asked nervously.

"Nothing, I’m just hugging you because you get so agitated. Babe, don’t be mad, alright? Calm down..."

Lance slowly hugged Madeline, and his breaths started to even out. He couldn’t deny that Madeline’s presence gave him peace, so he calmed down and said softly, "Please don’t do this to me, Maddy. We both know how obsessed that man is with you. I don’t want to put you in danger. Besides, just looking at his face makes me angry. I’m so jealous because you keep defending him."

Madeline curled her lips as she was holding her giggle.

"Babe, I’m doing this to ensure the movie’s success, and I know it’s not about money for you. But your brother will be happy knowing that his investment is not in vain, and your family will be proud of you since you have successfully revived the company."

"And for the icing on the cake..." Madeline lifted her head. She stared at her boyfriend with her beautiful eyes and charming smile, like a deadly poison for Lance. "If this movie is a big success, I might think about finally settling down since my problem has been solved."

Lance’s defense began to crumble in the face of Madeline’s persuasion.

His head told him that Madeline was trying to weaken him, and he wasn’t stupid enough to fall for this kind of trick.

But since Madeline kept persuading him, his heart began to waver, and he was unsure if he could keep his stance.

"You will have to see him all the time during filming. What if he tries to do something?"

"What do you mean? Of course, you’ll be with me ALL the time!" Madeline said confidently. "I want everyone in the set to know I have a handsome boyfriend who can protect me!"

Madeline poked on Lance’s nose, and the latter began to smile in the face of Madeline’s tease.
