Chapter 231: Chapter 231

"He’s a no-go, too soft," Lance commented harshly as the two more directors satwere sitting beside him, silently assessing the actor who had just auditioned today.

They just finished listening to one of the actors. While he bore some resemblance to Lancelot Grant, he lacked the commanding and intimidating aura that Lance exuded effortlessly.

Lance’s most defining trait was his commanding and intimidating presence, which demanded respect from everyone in the room.

"Sir, I think it’ll take a long time for us to find the right actor," one director said as he saw more than a hundred rejected actors on his list. "Why don’t we consider making some compromises for this character?"

Lance shot him a death glare as he responded firmly, "Do you think I should compromise for a movie about my girlfriend? Are you fucking serious?"

In fear, the director swallowed his saliva and shook his head. "T—Then, we should call the next actor."

Meanwhile, Madeline was busy in the other room, doing a private casting for Olga.

Olga had just finished her reprisal of ’Madeline Rose’ as a character and nodded with a smile, "You’re perfect for this role, Olga."

"R—Really?"

"Yes, I will cast you as ’Madeline Rose’ for this movie," Madeline confirmed with a smile. "And congratulations on your plastic surgery recovery. You look gorgeous."

Olga squealed as she was brimming with joy. She hugged Madeline tightly and murmured, "Thank you so much for everything, Miss. I would have been stuck as a loser for the rest of my life without your help."

Madeline thought it was a fair exchange because Olga helped her tremendously in taking down both Jon and Angel.

"I didn’t give this role to you for free. I genuinely like your acting, and your face has some similarity with me," Madeline explained.

"Of course! I told the plastic surgeon to make me look like you. Though we don’t look alike, I still have some of your features!" Olga said proudly as she stared at Madeline with worship.

Truthfully, Madeline was unsettled by how much Olga’s face had changed. She was undeniably pretty now and appeared to be very happy with the change, but this wasn’t the Olga she knew.

But again, she didn’t want to say anything because it wasn’t her place to do so.

’Besides, she’s perfect to play this role because of her new face and her acting potential,’ Madeline thought to herself.

"So, when are we going to start, Miss?" Olga asked excitedly.

"Well, probably in a month, "Madeline replied. "Lance is still sorting out the paperwork. Plus, we need to cast someone who would play Lance since it’s difficult to find someone with the same aura as him."

Olga hesitated before suggesting, "What about casting Zane Eastwood as your boyfriend? He’s a great actor and very popular too!"

Madeline chuckled. She knew that Olga was a big fan of Zane Eastwood, but it was impossible to cast him.

"That would never happen," Madeline replied, shaking her head. "Zane is far too involved in my life; Lance wouldn’t be pleased if I cast Zane to play him."

"On top of that, Zane is too much of a pretty boy. He’s handsome, but he doesn’t have that intimidating aura Lance had," she added.

"O—Okay then..." Olga nodded. She was a bit disappointed because she couldn’t play with Zane, but she knew she couldn’t do anything about it.

Maybe she could at least walk on the same red carpet with him in the future.

Olga excused herself after she was done with the casting. Madeline also walked out of her room and went to the next room where the casting for ’Lancelot Grant’ was being held.

She breezed into the room without knocking and froze on the spot when she saw the one standing in front of Lance and the other directors.

"Maddy..." Zane murmured as she called her name longingly. "It’s been a while..."

Madeline held her breath for a moment, trying to calm herself first before she turned her head towards Lance and asked, "Who let him in here?"

Lance’s mood was also as terrible as she was. He glared at Zane and replied, "He came in with a different name. So I didn’t know it was him."

"Then what are you waiting for? Kick him out!" Madeline yelled, and Zane quickly lowered his shoulder to make himself look pitiful.

"M—Madeline, please don’t kick me out. I’m here for an audition. I also need a job," Zane said weakly. "I need to earn money."

"Do you think you can fool me with that? You’re Zane-fucking-Eastwood! You have all the movies and brand deals lined up!" Madeline retorted sharply. "Zane, it’s better for you to stop this. Live your life because I barely have any good feelings for you. You’re just a pest for me at this point."

Zane knew that his trick of acting meek was not going to work. But he missed Madeline so much that he didn’t know when to meet her again.

So he took the initiative to join the audition since it was the only way to meet her.

Who would’ve expected that he would be greeted with a cold reception from the woman he loved instead?

"Please give me a chance, Maddy. I really just want to get an acting gig. I’m not as popular as before..." Zane begged.

The other directors couldn’t believe what Zane said just now, because there was no goddamn way Zane Eastwood would lack money or a gig.

He was still the mega-popular A-list celebrity, and nobody could deny his influence.

But they also knew that Zane was in love with Madeline Rose. It was honestly pathetic how desperate he got.

Lance reached for the intercom, ready to call the security guards to kick him out.

Knowing what Lance was about to do, Zane interjected quickly, "Why don’t you give me a chance to act in any role? I don’t need to be the main character in this movie. I don’t mind being the supporting cast."
