Chapter 233: Chapter 233

"Okay then, it has been decided. Zane will play himself in the movie, right?"

"W—Wait, I haven’t—"

Before Lance could voice his objection, Madeline released her hug and spun around. She brazenly opened the door and shouted at the directors and Zane, "Okay! You can be part of the movie, Zane Eastwood. You will be playing as yourself!"

Zane’s face brightened as he knew he still had a chance to warm her up.

"Maddy, thank you so—"Zane began, moving toward Madeline for a hug, but Lance suddenly stood behind her, watching Zane and the others with his viper-like gaze.

Zane’s body stiffened. He could only refrain himself and thanked her formally.

Madeline gave him a warning smile before she said, "Alright, you can leave now, Zane. We’re still trying to find the right person to play as my boyfriend."

Zane smiled bitterly before he turned around and left.

The directors returned to the room, seating themselves at the table to resume the audition.

Madeline settled onto Lance’s lap, ignoring the directors, who glanced at them many times. She didn’t really care about what the others thought of her because she knew that Lance really liked this gesture. He even comfortably pinched her waist and thigh while his eyes watched the actors who came in and out of the room.

The directors sighed, crossing off over seventy actors off the list.

Finding someone who met Lance’s criteria was proving exceedingly challenging.

Lance’s features weren’t rare, but the combination of his facial features plus his overbearing aura made it hard to find.

"This is the last one for today, Sir," the staff announced as she opened the door for the last actor to walk in.

Lance and Madeline’s eyes widened simultaneously at the sight of the last actor who entered.

The actor smiled at them and greeted, "Hi, Lance, Madeline. It’s been a while since we met, right?"

"What the hell are you doing here, George?" Lance asked. "This is an audition for the new movie that I’m producing. You could have just come to my mansion to meet us."

"Yeah, or you could have called me first so I could accompany you while Lance is busy crossing names on his list," Madeline added.

George laughed freely. "I’m here for an audition."

"You’re not an actor," Lance frowned. "Besides, aren’t you in a medical internship to become a doctor right now?"

"I just finished my medical internship a month ago. You’re so busy that you don’t even know your brother is a doctor now," George sighed. "Anyway, I’m here for an audition because I have too much free time right now, and I’m still deciding on the specialist study I want to pursue. I’m thinking about becoming a neurologist or oncologist."

"Since I’ve yet to decide what I will do next, I’m thinking of becoming an actor and playing in a movie," George shrugged.

Lance immediately had a headache. He sighed and said, "This is not a joke, George. I’m here to find the right actor because this is a huge project that Theodore has invested a lot in."

"I know, that’s why I want to give it a shot," George insisted. "Besides, I’m supposed to play you, right? We literally look like twins—"

"No, we’re not," Lance interrupted. "I don’t look like a nerd with big glasses like you."

"I can always wear contact lenses for this role," George suggested. "Besides, wouldn’t it be easier to cast me? I won’t ask for any payment. Money never matters that much for us, right?"

"Other than that, we are similar, right?"

"I’m taller than you," Lance said.

"By an inch," George rolled his eyes. "Come on, just give me a chance, bro."

Lance was about to reject him and kick him out of the room. But Madeline interrupted, "Maybe we should give him a chance. He’s our last for today, after all."

"But he’s just here for fun. I’m not searching for an unserious kid who thinks he can be the main lead of a multi-million dollar project because he is bored."

"Just let me reprise the role, and you can decide," George persuaded.

Lance looked at his girlfriend and brother, knowing they had the same idea, but he could only sigh and point at the script on the small table beside George.

"I’ll give you five minutes to read and memorize the script. You only have one chance," Lance said commandingly.

George picked up the script. He hummed for only a minute before taking off his glasses and unbuttoning his shirt’s first button, "Okay, I’m ready."

"Then do it," Lance said.

George leaned on the wall with his hands crossed, while staring coldly at Madeline, who sat on Lance’s lap right now, "Don’t you understand, Madeline Rose? I’m your sponsor. My word is an edict for you. So you better do as I say, or you’ll never get that paycheck."

...

...

The room fell into stunned silence as George delivered his lines flawlessly. It was as if Mr. Lancelot Grant himself had stepped into the room.

Even Madeline was caught off guard by George’s delivery. He looked, sounded, and acted just like Lance. She had to pinch Lance’s arm to ensure she didn’t sit on the wrong lap.

Lance frowned as he observed his little brother. He had to admit that George’s performance was uncannily accurate, making him the perfect fit for the role for their upcoming movie.

He didn’t want to give George the role because it wasn’t his expertise. But he had to be objective, and he knew nobody could play this better than George.

Despite his initial reluctance, Lance couldn’t deny George’s talent.

"So? What do you think, Lance?" Madeline asked, breaking the silence.

Lance sighed, "Fuck this. Fine, I will give you the role. But it’s not because we’re brothers. It’s because you’re the best person to portray me in this movie."

"Hehe, I told you I could do it. Who knows, maybe I can be a big star too," George chuckled as he wore his glasses again. "Just give me a call when it’s time to shoot, alright?"

With that, George turned around and breezed out of her room happily after knowing he secured the role.

"That little shit needs a spanking," Lance muttered under his breath as he watched George walk out of the room.

"You can’t deny that he is objectively the best person to play as you. He’s your brother, after all," Madeline commented.

Lance nodded reluctantly. "We don’t have much of a choice."
