Chapter 229: Chapter 229

Lance finally relented when Madeline said that it would clear up her name.

Lance had been wanting to do something to clear up her name. After all, she had been getting too infamous for her own good.

She could easily say she was safe and secure right now, and nothing would disturb her as long as Lance protected her.

But Lance still hated reading some scathing comments about his beloved girlfriend. It made him angry, knowing these bastards could easily slander her, even though Madeline had been nothing but lovely to him and his family.

Thus, he began seriously considering Madeline’s suggestion about making a movie about her story.

"Do you want to star as the female lead in that movie?" Lance asked.

"Nope," Madeline replied quickly. "It’s a story based on me, so I should be sitting in the director’s seat. You should join me as co-director because your presence is in half of the story."

Lance thought about it.

What Madeline said made sense. They should be the directors of this movie because they are the most knowledgeable about themselves and the story involving them.

"Then I will arrange everything. Do you want me to open an audition for the role, or do you have an actor or actress in mind?" Lance asked.

Madeline paused for a while, thinking about the best people to play the role.

"First, I don’t want a super well-known actress to play me. Because I want to give a chance for a newcomer to shine, and I don’t want my character to get overshadowed by the one playing it," Madeline explained. "And as for your character... it’s up to you, but I don’t think it’s going to be easy to find someone with your unique features."

"It’ll be easy to cast me. But what about you, babe? You should understand the amount of people who practically worship you for your beauty," Lance remarked. "It might take ages to find a newcomer who matches your kind of beauty."

"Oh, I have someone in mind, and she somewhat resembles me," Madeline replied cryptically. "She told me that she had a basic education in acting at university but never pursued it professionally."

"Really? With a face like yours, it should’ve been easy for her to find a role," Lance commented.

"Well, there’s something that’s been holding her back from getting any role... or any job. I think she can portray my situation perfectly. Give me two days to talk to her first, alright?"

Lance didn’t know what Madeline was planning but he still agreed. "I’ll start organizing everything and contact my director colleagues to give us some tips. I’ll also contact the other agency to line up their actors and actresses."

"W—Welcome, Miss. Sorry that I can’t meet you outside. I’m still healing from the surgery," Olga said as she opened her apartment door and welcomed her boss in.

She was so polite, despite her face being completely bandaged from the top of her head down to her neck, except for her eyes, nostrils, and mouth.

"Do you want to drink anything, Miss?" Olga asked, and Madeline rejected it.

"No need. You don’t need to be so courteous towards me. I know the surgery must be tough," Madeline said kindly, and Olga felt her heart melted by how sweet she was.

After the scandalous fashion show, Olga hurriedly searched through the best plastic surgeon in America, and still, even after Madeline said yes to her plenty of times, there was a bit of doubt in her heart, scared that Madeline might just be toying with her and wouldn’t grant Olga’s wishes.

Still, even if Madeline broke her promise, Olga walked away with a hefty sum of money in hand. She could continue a comfortable life in Los Angeles for at least two years.

But Madeline personally accompanied her to the plastic surgeon appointment. When asked what features Olga wanted, she blatantly pointed at Madeline Rose and said, ’I want her feature. I want to look gorgeous like Madeline Rose.’

And even after Olga said that, Madeline wasn’t offended at all. She already knew from the plastic surgeon’s unfazed reaction that many women came to him and asked for Madeline Rose’s features.

Madeline generously covered all expenses, and now Olga was in the process of healing. On top of that, Madeline also gave her extra money to live comfortably for at least a year.

Olga might be cunning and have a lot of bad thoughts in her head, but she’s not the one who would bite the hand that feeds her.

Madeline gave her everything she could ever wish for, so Olga held her in high regard.

"Is there something you want me to do, Miss?" Olga inquired. "I... uh... I can help, but I need time to heal. The doctor said that I need to go back in two weeks."

"Rather than needing your help, I have a question for you," Madeline replied. "Have you ever thought of starting a career as an actress?"

Olga was taken aback by the question. The idea of entering showbiz had always been in her mind since she was a child, but she knew no matter how talented she was, she wasn’t gifted with the show-stopping face of Madeline Rose.

"Well, I was active in the senior high drama club, and I actually studied acting before changing my major after the third semester because everyone always picked on me for my appearance," Olga confessed. "So I’ve long buried that idea of getting a role."

Olga felt a little sentimental about it because she truly wanted her dream to come true, but she understood her situation and had long accepted it.

"That was the old you. You just had a full plastic surgery, so I’m confident you will look great!" Madeline encouraged me. "Come to me once you’re done healing. I will take you to private casting. If you’re good enough, you will be playing the female lead of the new movie that Lance and I plan to produce soon."
