Chapter 215: Chapter 215

Lance handed Madeline a document containing the current situation of Jonathan Hale, including his current manager, assistant, and his new gigs.

"Why do you need his information?" Lance asked grimly. "You’re not thinking of going back to him, are you?"

"Do you think I’m the type who would go out of my way just to cheat on you? Well, bad news for you, mister. I’m not going to sleep with anyone else except you, so you better love me tender because I’m quite clingy," Madeline replied boldly and then giggled.

Lance knew that Madeline was joking, but it soothed his heart. He smiled, "Then why do you need his information?"

"I need it for the upcoming fashion show, Madeline Rose’s Scandalous Night. That bastard ruined my life by tricking me into dating him without telling me that he’s already married," Madeline replied. "So I want my revenge."

"Revenge?" Lance frowned. "You’re not going to harm yourself, right?"

"I’m scared of pain and confrontation. That’s why I will rely on your protection, Mr. Grant," Madeline said.

"Then, do you need me to do something?" Lance asked.

"Just provide your men to help me backstage. I’ve reserved a front seat for you, so all you need to do is sit tight and watch the show, alright?"

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm, take it as entertainment for you. I know you’ve been very busy at work. So I plan to give you a good show," Madeline said. "Oh, why don’t you invite Theodore while at it? Tell him to keep it a secret from Angel, though."

"I’ve talked with him about Angel, and he told me that he barely had any conversation with Angel these days. They’re still engaged, but it seems he finally opened his eyes, so he’s not prioritizing her anymore," Lance said. He then furrowed his brows and asked, "Why do we need to invite him? You’re not interested in him, are you?"

Madeline rolled her eyes, "Who are you going to accuse next? Are you going to accuse me of cheating with a woman later?"

Lance quickly fixed his expression, knowing that Madeline disliked his possessiveness.

But he couldn’t help it.

Madeline was just too perfect, and he constantly tried to better himself to be a perfect man for her too.

Sometimes, it felt like a dream for Lance to have Madeline by his side, so he was afraid that she’d leave him.

"Don’t think too much about it, babe. I’m not going to leave you as long as you’re not leaving me first," Madeline said.

"Never!" Lance exclaimed. "I’ll never leave you!"

"Well, you got your answer then," Madeline stood up and left the office.

"Where are you going?" Lance asked.

"I have to talk with someone about the fashion show," Madeline said before leaving.

"She’s planning something again," Lance sighed. Lance didn’t fully trust Madeline’s judgment because Madeline often found herself in a tight situation.

He wanted to keep protecting her, knowing how many people tried to hurt her because of her status as a controversial star.

But as long as she allowed his bodyguards around her, everything should be fine.

Thus, Lance returned to all the documents at the table. "Okay, let’s just focus on this for now. I want to have a stable company before I can propose."

Madeline left Lance’s office with the phone number of Jon’s assistant.

She knew this woman. She was the assistant staff in the show Summer Heat Lovers. It seemed that she got fired right after she had a fight with Madeline and Jasmin for being so mean-spirited, and now, she found herself working as Jon’s assistant.

She was ugly; even Madeline could not deny that, and it would be very harsh in this entertainment industry, where looks are everything, and even a mere assistant had to look good.

So she guessed this woman, Olga Popov, must’ve been abused by Jon since Madeline realized that the bastard was very superficial and only dated her for her beauty and nothing else.

Madeline was only guessing until now, but if her guess was correct, then Olga might be the key to her success in taking down Angel and Jon simultaneously.

’That old woman is too obvious. I just told Lance to report everything Angel did, and she simply contacted Jon without thinking twice,’ Madeline thought. ’Poor Theo, he has to be with a hat like that.’

Thus, Madeline called Olga, intending to entice her with money or other things that would incentivize Olga to betray Jon.

The call was connected quickly;

"Hello, who are you, and how did you get my number?" Olga asked immediately on the phone.

"Hello, Olga Popov. I’m here calling you because I want to give you an offer," Madeline said.

Olga frowned.

The voice on the phone was somewhat familiar, but she didn’t dare to think that Madeline Rose would actually call her. Because they were on a completely different level, they shouldn’t even speak at this point.

"Tell me your name first," Olga demanded.

"If you want to know me, then why don’t we set up to meet in real life?" Madeline offered. "And don’t worry, I won’t kidnap you or something. I just want to talk."

...

Slowly, Olga realized it was Madeline Rose judging from her sweet voice, tone, and even the characteristics of her speech.

Olga had been Madeline’s anti-fan for so long that she was practically obsessed with hating her before she got busy with her job.

Olga had been thinking about finding a way to contact Madeline Rose so she could tell her about Angel and Jon’s plan.

She might’ve hated Madeline in the past, but she realized that Jon was the true enemy once she became his assistant.

Who would’ve expected that Madeline would call her instead?

"Where do you want to meet?" Olga asked.

"In a cafe, I will send you the address and my exact table. I’ll be waiting. This is your only chance to break free from that bastard, Olga Popov."

Beep.
