Chapter 216: Chapter 216

Madeline grinned as she ended the call. She swiftly sent the location to Olga via text before turning her phone off.

She was confident that Olga would show up at the cafe; after all, nobody wanted to stay with an abusive boss. She was probably pressured to stay because it was hard to find a job.

"Well, let’s just wait at the cafe for now. I’m hungry anyway," Madeline murmured. "Let’s go, Ada."

"What are you up to these days, Miss?" Ada asked out of curiosity. "It seems that you are planning something dangerous."

"I want to get my revenge and also get rid of the parasite that’s been latching on Lance’s family for a while," Madeline replied.

"Can I help with anything?"

"You can help later, during the special day. I’m still preparing everything."

"Alright, I’m always ready whenever you need me, Miss."

Thus, Ada drove to the designated location, silently waiting in the car while her female boss entered the cafe.

Meanwhile, Olga stared at her phone screen.

Madeline sent the address, which was a cafe that wasn’t far from her current location. She hesitated momentarily, thinking that Madeline was up to get her.

"We never have any good conversation, nor do we have any connection between each other. So what kind of help would she give me?" Olga wondered. "What if she just wants to shame me once I arrive at that cafe?"

Honestly, Olga wasn’t the type who would go out of her way to meet someone new. She got bullied horribly since she was young, resulting in her being wary of other people’s intentions.

She would rather spend her time working or in her room, dreaming of becoming an actress. She often practiced in front of the mirror but dared not to go for an audition, knowing she would be a laughing stock instantly.

Thus, thinking of Madeline, who invited her to meet, was just too suspicious for her.

Olga was about to block Madeline’s number and continue her life as usual, working and getting abused by Jon.

But Madeline’s last sentence lingered in her head.

-

’This is your only chance to break free from that bastard, Olga Popov.’

-

’My only chance to break free...’ Olga turned her around to stare at her boss, Jonathan Hale, who was exercising in his home gym.

Olga admired Jon when she was young. She watched a few of his movies and got obsessed with his gentlemanly look.

But once she became his assistant, she realized how much of an asshole he truly was.

Jon noticed Olga staring at her through the mirror and stopped the treadmill.

He turned around and faced the ugly woman in front of him. "Why are you looking at me like that? Do you have something to say?"

Olga paused for a moment and asked, "Sir, do you think I deserve to be happy?"

Jon frowned. "Why are you asking me stupid questions? I don’t give a damn whether you’re happy or not. All I want you to do is do your damn job!"

"...Do you think I deserve to be loved by someone?" Olga asked more, ignoring Jon’s annoyance.

"Tsk, stupid bitch asking a stupid question. You’re fucking hideous, get that into your mind! The only one who would love you genuinely is a blind dog!" Jon yelled. "Now go do something else! You’re ruining my mood to exercise!"

...

"Thank you for your answer. Please excuse me, Sir," Olga finally left Jon alone as she had already made her decision.

She ordered an Uber and headed to the cafe where Madeline awaited her.

She fiddled with her fingers nervously as she entered the cafe. She looked around, searching for her, and her eyes darted at a woman sitting on a table. She wore a black cap, sunglasses, and a white shirt, just like Madeline described herself.

Thus, Olga carefully approached her and asked, "A—Are you the one who called me?"

Madeline lifted her head and smiled at her, "Yes, it’s been a while, Olga Popov. Sit down, and let’s talk."

Olga sat facing Madeline, and the latter took off her shades to reveal her identity.

Madeline thought that Olga would be shocked, but she didn’t seem surprised seeing Madeline.

Madeline raised her brow. She remarked, "I thought you’d have a bigger reaction since our last conversation ended with us fighting during Summer Heat Lovers."

"I’ve known it’s you from your voice," Olga replied. "I... I was your hater for a long time."

"Was?" Madeline chuckled. "Well, glad that you’re not a hater anymore. It’d be more difficult for us to work together if you still hate me. But may I know what changed you?"

"Jon," Olga replied. She lowered her head instinctively when her boss’ name was brought up because Jon kept on humiliating her, crushing her already low confidence to the ground. "Once I worked with him, I realized how much of a scum he is. That’s why I changed."

Madeline sighed. "It’s alright. I was tricked by his gentlemanly nature too. Back then, I thought I was really lucky to date Jonathan Hale, but who would’ve expected that he has a wife and a child?"

Olga nodded. "They got a divorce recently because Jon got caught cheating for the fifth time."

"Fifth time? Wow, I didn’t expect him to be so promiscuous," Madeline commented, pouring fuel into the fire. "Anyway, I know you would’ve come because a man like Jon would never appreciate a woman in his life. He lied to me and cheated on his wife so easily, and he could do that again anytime with a different woman."

Olga clenched her fists under the table. She got agitated thinking about it. No matter what she did to make him happy, Jon would always find a way to laugh at her appearance.

"You told me that I could break free from him as long as I met you," Olga mentioned. "So, what do you want from me, Madeline Rose? I don’t think you need money from me since your boyfriend is super rich already."

Madeline leaned forward, facing Olga with a malicious smirk, and said, "I want you to work with me to take down both Angel and Jon."
