She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 190
Chapter 190: Chapter 190
Theodore and Angel walked into Empress Entertainment’s office lobby.
Theo looked around, observing the situation in the lobby. Usually, for a company on the brink of bankruptcy, the people would run about, trying to do everything they could to save the company or themselves.
But strangely, there didn’t seem to be an uproar.
Everything simply went on with their job as if it was just another Tuesday morning.
Theodore frowned. He didn’t say anything at first, thinking that it might be a farce that Lance put up to stop Theodore from confronting him.
Thus, he walked to the front desk and asked, "Where is my little brother?"
The front desk receptionist knew his identity, so they quickly replied, "Mr. Lancelot Grant is in his office, Sir."
"Really? He’s still working?" Theodore asked again to make sure.
"Yes, he’s working as usual."
Theodore had a lot of questions, but he decided to go up and see what the farce was all about. At this point, Lance should’ve just given up and handed everything to him so Theodore could quickly save the company from total bankruptcy.
"Lance must’ve been trying to fool us," Angel said. "He’s probably too ashamed to show his face, so he tries to trick you."
"Perhaps," Theodore murmured. "Or perhaps he has an idea to save himself this time. He’s quite crafty, after all."
Angel sneered, knowing Lance, that bastard probably lazed around and did nothing. If Lance were as good as Theodore said, she would’ve tried to seduce him when he was only eleven, so he would be head over heels for her.
Theodore and Angel stepped out of the elevator and saw the middle-aged secretary busy at her desk. She seemed overwhelmed with a stack of work, so she didn’t notice them at all.
Theodore cleared his throat, and Deborah looked up. She gasped and stood up immediately, "W—Welcome, Mr. Theodore Grant. Are you here to see Mr. Lancelot Grant?"
Theodore nodded. "He’s inside, right?"
"He is, but he has a guest right now."
"A guest?" Theodore scoffed. "His company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and he still somehow has a guest? Is it a bank representative?"
"No, but—"
"Spare your explanation. I’ll see him myself." Theodore ignored Deborah and slammed the CEO’s office door open.
He saw Lance busy at his desk, handling many documents.
But he also saw a gorgeous brunette wearing a chocolate turtleneck sweater dress and long boots. She sat cross-legged on the sofa, reading a few documents as if she were trying to help Lance.
They both lifted their heads and looked at Theodore and Angel simultaneously.
Theodore was stunned when he saw Madeline Rose. He was also awed by her because this was the first time he ever saw a woman much more beautiful in real life than on TV.
He wasn’t a man who would easily get swayed by beauty, but Madeline Rose was indeed one of a kind, the type of woman you couldn’t ignore in a room.
He already had Angel, but he wouldn’t lie. There was a temptation as he saw Madeline, especially when she met his gaze.
Madeline Rose smiled at Theodore and got up politely. "Good morning, Mr. Theodore Grant. Lance told me a lot about you."
...
Theodore didn’t reply at first because his mind blanked out upon seeing Madeline, but Angel glared at Madeline with so much hostility, knowing fully well that Theodore had been charmed by her beauty.
So she pinched Theodore’s arm until he snapped out of his daze. He quickly looked away, darting his eyes at Lance, who grinned the whole time, silently ridiculing his brother, who got charmed by Madeline’s beauty, just as he expected.
After all, nobody could resist her, including Lance, who grew obsessed with and attached to her as days passed.
"Finished ogling, big bro?" Lance ridiculed. "As you can see, my girlfriend is much cuter than the old hag beside you. This is the benefit of having functional eyes; you can get yourself treated if you want to get away from that witch."
Theodore’s gaze darkened as fantasy was destroyed once Lance opened his mouth.
Thus, he tried to ignore Madeline and stare at Lance instead. He lifted his chin arrogantly and said, "It’s funny how you can still joke around when your company is on the brink of bankruptcy. Maybe this woman has completely rotted your brain, Lancelot Grant."
"Oh, how so?" Lance feigned ignorance as he stood up. He walked towards Madeline and wrapped his arm around her waist, "Please elaborate, big bro. You are an experienced businessman here, after all."
"Are you playing dumb, or are you truly stupid? Your scandal with that woman is tarnishing Empress Entertainment’s reputation. Zane Eastwood’s fans are staging a boycott of Psycho Moth, and the company’s stock has plummeted. At this point, I don’t think I can even save this. You might as well file for bankruptcy or sell this company."
"Y—You should give it to your big brother, Lance. He knows what to do," Angel added.
"Shut your mouth, saggy hag," Lance reprimanded Angel immediately, showing his unbridled hostility towards that groomer.
He then shifted his gaze back at Theodore and replied, "I have no intention of filing for bankruptcy or selling this company. I also don’t plan to step down from my position. You can’t force me to do so."
"Oh, I can, and I will force you to step down, Lancelot Grant. You bring nothing but destruction to our family’s legacy," Theodore said sharply. "I will call the board of directors and shareholders and have you voted out for incompetence."
"I don’t think the board of directors can help you. I’ve replaced them all with MY people," Lance said boldly.
Theodore pretty much expected that, and he didn’t try to do anything because he wanted to see if Lance had grown.
But it seemed that was his limit, so Theodore had to take over immediately before it was too late.
"That’s fine. I can call all the shareholders and have you removed instead."
